Nikkō Tōshogū Art Museum

Stumbled upon while walking the back lanes to film flowers. The garden is calming. Art pieces are alright we liked the wooden building better. There are toilets in the back. View the front garden from the top floor.

Even though the museum is only 10 min away from the main temple, it was fairly deserted when we visited. The building is simply magnificent by itself. If you walk towards the road on the east, you can see the mountain range in the back. The paintings in the museum were great but to me, where you see these painting is even more impressive. Be careful going in the winter since the building will not be heated.

Museum containing art of different eras oj Japan and a nice add-in to your visit to Nikkō if you have time to spare

Although the entrance fee is not mentioned, it costs 800¥ for adults. The interior is really great. There are a lot of rooms with different wall designs.
