An Unforgettable Escape by the Nile – 5 Stars Nile River Camp is easily one of the best-kept secrets in Uganda’s tourism scene. Perched on a beautiful hillside overlooking the mighty Nile, this place offers breathtaking views, chilled vibes, and a genuine connection to nature that’s hard to find elsewhere. The staff are warm, friendly, and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Whether you’re there for the adrenaline rush of white-water rafting, to unwind by the pool with a cold beer, or to soak in the serenity of the landscape, NRC delivers on every level. The bar and common area have a laid-back backpacker energy, yet the place is kept clean and well-maintained. Food is affordable and delicious – don’t miss their wood-fired pizzas and local dishes. The dorms, tents, and private rooms all cater to different budgets, but each comes with the same attention to comfort and cleanliness. What makes Nile River Camp special isn’t just the location or the amenities – it’s the vibe. There’s a sense of community, adventure, and peace that wraps around you the moment you arrive. If you’re heading to Jinja and want something that blends adventure, nature, and comfort, Nile River Camp is the place to be. Highly recommended.

When you are coming from Kampala the first Roundabout when you turn left/passenger side don't expect Tarmac Road. It's Murram up to where its located and dusty. And its a nice place vist. Its cool temperature and everywhere is green which makes it more beautiful😍 I loved the place❤❤❤

We just went for the boat trip and to relax and see that portion of the Nile but there are many water activities. Next time I think I will try tubing in the bungee jumping. (FYI you actually bungee jump off of a tower on top of a cliff over the Nile so when you're done you conveniently just drop in the water and they pick you up. There are no crocodiles in this section between the two hydroelectric dams as they do not like moving water going this fast at all)

We have spent 4 nights at the Nile River Camp and were so happy that we have found this place. It's super peaceful and quiet. You can watch so many birds in the morning and evening hours, monkeys are always around jumping from tree to tree (and roof to roof :D) if you want to you can also jump into the Nile. There is a rope hanging on a tree so you can just swing and jump into the water and feel like Tarzan ;-) Patrick & Andrew who are running the place are super friendly and always helpful (e.g. activities, arranging a bodaboda, boat trip, bus booking etc.). The restaurant offers very delicious food (unfortunately more European/Western food than Ugandan) and they bake their own bread. We have stayed in one of the bungalows which were very spacious and new and we just loved everything at this place <3

No-brainer if you’re looking for a camp site around Jinja. Nicely kept place with amazing views over the Nile, great hot showers and a good bar/ restaurant that is also visited by locals so you can put together a crew to go into town.

I went for white water rafting and their office is located at this place. I highly recommend Nalubale Rafting though.

The view is amazing and it has a pool that is small but enough to cool off in. The restaurant area is chilled and relaxing and the food is good (battered fish fillets amazing, fruit salad and beef burgers pretty good).||Although I have low expectations of a camping place, we upgraded to a tent under a hut for $45 and so expected a bit more. The experience compared poorly with other places we stayed eg Banana Village off the Entebbe Road, with a bigger pool and lovely gardens, that has en suite bandas with a four poster bed and veranda with chairs for $35 including breakfast. It does not have a view over the Nile, but it is a perfect first or last night on the way to the airport. This felt over priced and shabby by comparison.||The shared showers are very much camping standard. Small touches such as a bedside table or chairs outside the tent would make a difference. Fair expectations at that price would be - a charging point, better pillows, a bin that is not crumpled, a couple of bottles of water in the room, beds made daily.||If you pay for camping or a dorm bed, you would probably be delighted, the upgrade feels overpriced.
