This place is featured in Lonely Planet, but something must have changed since then because I can’t imagine it deserving that recognition today. The excursions and services were clearly overpriced (they asked for 1.200 EGP for something that market price is 400 EGP) After a four-night stay, on the last day, they didn’t allow us to wait by the pool for our airport transport, as we had done on previous days in the hot weather. Instead, they told us that, since we were no longer guests, we would have to pay for that privilege.
The rooms were not cleaned as promised, leaving sand and dust to accumulate throughout our stay. The restaurant is also overpriced compared to other options in the area, and the food is unremarkable. The rooms don’t provide shampoo or liquid soap for showering. I found a blood stain on my pillow, and the room was ugly and noisy, facing the street where all the buses passed.
Overall, it was a mediocre stay. Nothing stood out as particularly good or terrible, but I’m surprised this place is still featured in the guide.
