NiLu Gift Boutique

Great staple in the neighborhood! I always come when I need gifts whether for a birthday or holiday. I recently got my family on the west coast lotion, lip balm, chocolate and a cook book from here - they loved the products and I love being able to share that I supported a Black owned business by purchasing these Black owned products :)

This store was definitely a highlight of our trip to visit family. It was a beautiful boutique with some awesome art and history. The vibe was amazing and the staff was on point. You can find some really nice items and unique ones at that. Make sure to check them out whenever you make your way to Harlem 🙌🏼

Great store to get gifts/souvenirs! I got a mug at the store and the owner was very friendly and even asked about visiting The Netherlands (Haarlem that was too:-)) Very happy to have bought here with excellently curated items supporting black owned businesses!

Came across this gift shop during a visit to NYC with my partner and her daughter. We all loved this shop! The owner was very warm and friendly and chatted with us. There was a hip vibe and it was very original in its ambiance. I especially enjoyed browsing the many jazz themed books. I bought a cool Harlem tray.

Cute little shop in Harlem. They carry items from small black owned businesses, which I love, of course, because I have a small business. You can find anything from novelty items to skin care. We went for an event, which was very enlightening.

Such an amazing little shop with a shocking amount of variety! All the items are so unique and special, and it’s fun just to browse through books and candles. I have a pair of earrings from Nilu that I just love. The body butter is really good as well!

Cute store you can easily spend an hour in without seeing everything! Endless gift options, love the unique gift options, friendly service, chill music. I'm mad I didn't have enough time to peruse everything but I got there an hour before closing. Even though I got there late, I never felt rushed. I wish the store was closer to where I lived but then again, I'd go broke !

Harlem has wonderful boutiques/gift shops that sell beautiful and unique things. NiLu is one of the best of them. It specializes in items that are Harlem-themed and/or made by Harlem creators. The staff is always warm and welcoming, and I had an especially gracious interaction with Marc when I visited the shop recently. I can't recommend it enough.

My husband received a gift card to NiLu beginning of the month and opted to purchase the Cosmo Champagne Glass set. Unfortunately, both glasses were received broken (see attached photos). I emailed communitymanager@shopnilu.com and got a response a couple days later apologizing and would send me another set. Fast forward to last week when we received the new set, unfortunately (again) only glass was broken. I reached out again (with photos). I had followed up again on the 21st with no response. I simply asked for a credit of our gift card to use towards something else. Today is the 26th and still haven't heard from anyone. While the glasses are super cute, it is a bummer that I did not get the product I liked to simply being ignored. Bummer.

Super cute shop that has everything from candles to jewelry. I decided to visit the shop for the first time this weekend and was greeted by some vendors outdoor. I purchased the cutest little plant hanger and their were other selling hats, face masks, and pies. I can definitely see myself returning for some holiday shopping!

Loved this gift shop. The young lady helping me was super sweet and personable and gave wonderful suggestions. I purchased the Savoy candle from the Harlem Candle Co and one of the store's house made candles.

I am very ashamed to say I have been living in Harlem for over 5 years, and I have never visited NiLu. I visited on a Saturday afternoon, and they literally had something for everyone in my entire family. This is a family and Black-owned business, and everyone was so NICE and INFORMATIVE! While I was there, the owner told me many of their items are available online and shipping. While in the shop, I picked up some candles and a wall calendar. THANKS FOR BEING SO KIND NiLu!

A pretty nice local shop that has an assortment of nice items that represent the character of the neighborhood. Although the gift shop did not have what I was looking for (a star for my Christmas), I purchased a couple of random items for the apartment.

Pro: Awesome gifts! Con: Judgmental Staff. Customer service is super wonky and dependent on how the owners perceive you. You may be greeted with a smile. Or you may just be stared at like I was on both occasions. You may be asked to hand sanitize (like I was) while others are allowed to waltz in. Did not feel welcomed, but, hey, you will also leave with a unique gift.

I saw this shop on the news one morning. Out of curiosity, I scanned their website and found myself enthralled by all the unique items. I bought some Christmas gifts. When they came, each item was carefully wrapped in tissue and bubble wrap. One item was a candle and I had been nervous about breakage. I shouldn't have thought twice because it was wrapped so meticulously, it made it to Texas in one piece. Everything was perfect and I can't wait to share my finds.

I work in real estate and use the excuse of purchasing gifts for clients to come to NILu as often as possible. It is a Harlem staple and is full of little gems that perfectly represent the character of this neighborhood. Most of the time, I purchase something for myself or my daughter. This is truly a wonderful boutique.

The cutest gift shop! It's nice to find the perfect birthday gift conveniently in the neighborhood. The owner fills the store with unique, interesting, and often locally sourced items. The book section is my favorite as there are many books with pictures about the history of Harlem, African American history, and women's rights. Take a stroll in here when you're bored! But be prepared to be tempted to buy cool things :)

Got a really cute birthday card for $5. The quality of the cardstock is excellent. Really cute stuff at this store. I didn't see the check-in offer but I will use it next time! Natasha was super helpful.

This is my favorite stop when I'm in the area! Anytime I have an event/holiday/ special occasion to buy a gift for, I go here. Wonderful merchandise, attentive and helpful staff, ally for small business owners...what more could you ask for?!

Went in late May to get a unique last minute gift for a friend I was visiting in Asia. I went into the shop and I was never greeted, despite there being a party or some kind of happy hour going on that Saturday. No explanation of what the event was. No drink offered. Oh well. Nice items here and there, but a lot was overpriced. A magnet for $5, sheesh! I wasn't impressed with the customer service. When I went to the counter to price check the magnet, the lady at the counter wasn't warm at all. I didn't feel like they wanted any business that day, so I left. Good day and good luck.

Nice little shop. They have a fun selection of different gifts. They carry NYC themed merchandise and other items made in NY. Their stuff includes greeting cards, kitchen items, toys, games, jewelry, chocolates, etc. The only reason I give 4-stars is instead of 5-stars is because there are a few too many Brooklyn items mixed in. Unfortunately, it seems like nobody in the neighborhood knows this little gem has arrived. Suggestion to business: do some postcard advertising to your neighbors so we know you are here! Also, maybe need a street easel hyping your products to pull in the tourists.

I always eat at the restaurant next door. As I waited for my takeout, I decided to head inside NiLu First off, it smells absolutely wonderful inside ! I'm going back next week to purchase the oil / glass vase / wicker thing that made the place smell so good. They have a nice variety of different & unique gifts. I bought Thank You cards and a small tote bag. Both were adorable. This is such a nice addition to the neighborhood ESPECIALLY since it's a black owned business. Any time I need a special something for someone I'll stop by here before heading downtown to shop.

I LOVE this place!! There are so many beautiful and unique items here. The best part is that most, if not all items are locally designed/made. I will definitely be making this my gift shop.

I love coming to this store. There's always something new. The owner (or their buyers) have great taste. So many cute and original gift ideas. Ideal for tourists or just if you're interested in getting someone (or yourself) a memorable little something. Easily one of the best shops in Harlem.

I stumbled upon this gift shop while on my lunch break and I'm so happy I did! This adorable shop has some great finds, including wares by local artists. Their card selection is fantastic, especially if you like funny and sarcastic cards for all occasions. They also have events, such as Meet the Artist and Meet the Maker. Awesome Harlem find!

I love this place ! It smells phenomenal for one, and has the perfect custom gifts for kids to adults. Reasonably priced and you never know what Harlem legend you may spot in there ! They also hold cute lil events! Great addition to Lenox ave!

Gifts are fine, a little overpriced. I like how it's a lot of local artist work that is on display. This poor review is for the attitude of the woman behind the counter. Very cold with a wishy washy dog policy that should be set in stone.
