Nina's Cafe

I discovered this breakfast place only in one of my last days in San Francisco, unfortunately. After that, I have been there twice. If you want a cheap and tasty breakfast, you should come to Nina’s cafe, Nina is also super friendly! Will be my regular breakfast place next time I come to San Francisco.

Awesome value for the money, blows Subway out of the water with a similar menu. The sandwiches are large, fresh, and delicious. There is also a rotating selection of lunch-sized portions of lasagna, chicken salad, and other sides. I highly recommend the mozzarella+tomato+basil sandwich which comes with a huge portion of mozzarella.

Terrible breakfast burrito. More of a breakfast wrap, no salsa, jack cheese, avacado, nothing. Just some bright orange american cheese and some hot sauce. Saw it being made and asked if they could put some salsa or spicy cheese on there to make it more like a burrito I got a rude no.

So let's say you're in Berkeley, and the thought of yet another vegan tofu seitan "delight" on a baked-in-the-moonlight roll with sprouts served to you by a ponytail-waving middle-aged ex-stock broker leaves you cold, what do you do? Hie on over to Nina's Café, where Nina her own self will charmingly proffer the usual café kit and kaboodle, along with truly satisfying alternatives like the chicken curit with rice and salad that I just enjoyed. Not spicy, but properly spiced. Free WiFi; she'll hand you the login info upon request. Sidewalk seating too. A must-repeat.

This place has been all over my Instagram feed for a while now, and since I've been living in NYC, I haven't been able to try it until now. I went today with a friend, and luckily caught them right before they were about to close (Heads up - this place is a truck! Their hours are pretty reliable, though!) The guy working was super friendly and welcoming, which I always appreciate! My friend and I both got the original acai bowl ($10.50 including acai, granola, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, shaved coconut, and honey), but it was so hard to choose what to get! They have 3 different acai bowl flavors, but they also have smoothies, fresh juices, and even poke bowls! I want to go back and try more! The acai bowl was very good - lots of fresh veggies and granola. The acai mixture itself was a bit icy, but not too sweet, which I liked. So glad I was able to try this place out! I highly recommend it!

Awesome home cooked breakfast burritos and Cesar wraps. And don't pass up on those sandwiches.

Solid tiny cafe. I've had the breakfast sandwich (default is on a bagel but I had mine on sliced rye) and the chicken club. Both are solid and cheaper than most things in Hayes Valley but are also less fancy. But it's still a good value proposition and is a good grab and go option.

I had a falafel here, it was decent. Not a bad place to grab a quick lunch. The person working (Nina?) was cool.

One of the worst places from food to service. Not only did I give them a second chance but this time I could even get food. From Google, yelp, their website and even a sign says 3pm closing. She stated they were closed through the window. And had already been doing the closing cleaning before I got there right at 2pm. When I kept asking whats going on the only response I got was "the new owner" and when I asked for a contact she just pointed at the door. Please don't waist your time or GOOD money on meh food and horrible service. I hope they get shut down is a city where so many strive to do great

Nina's Cafe delivers to the schools next to them. As a parent from one of the schools that do not have a cafeteria, I am very happy with their variety of food and services offered for a fair price. It is a great value!

This is a friendly little corner place in Hayes Valley. You'll find a very basic selection of breakfast items, sandwiches and coffee. They have a limited selection of rolls, bagels and drinks too. It's not a standout, and there wouldn't necessarily be a striking reason to seek it out. But, it's got a good vibe and it's never a quality let-down. With an office at Hayes and Van Ness this place is close, but also a decent reason to mix it up when you want to be somewhere a little more quiet. It's amazing what two blocks can do in terms of a change of scenery in SF. I've grabbed a few things here during short breaks - it's always been in the mid-Morning. Basic snacks like Croissants, Bagels (I usually go basic buttered/toasted), and rolls are easy enough. I have had their Breakfast Burrito a couple of times. It's, again, nothing special or especially delicious. But, for less than $6 it's a good amount of food if you're hungry. I also had their Veggie Bagel with Cucumber, Tomatoes, Red Onions and Cream Cheese which was solid. They also have lunch sandwiches which I have not tried. Brass-Tacks, a fine little space for what it is. I like a little place with one table and limited traffic. If you're getting something that takes a few minutes, there's also a Walgreens a few doors down. I normally eat what I get while walking back to the office.

we ordered 3 bacon breakfast burritos, a veggie bagel, and a falafel wrap and 4 coffees! It was about $45 and really worth it because everywhere else was probably going to be 3x that price! All of my photos are half eaten because we were so hungry LOL. but it tasted soooo good! One thing to note is that there going to renovate and be closed for a month! Definitely eat here for a quick relatively cheap tasty breakfast! :)

My new favorite place for lunch. Service is quick, ingredients are fresh, and only $7 for a sandwich.

Came for a latte, got a latte. Asked for almond or soy milk and she reluctantly pulled a box from an unrefrigerated cabinet, shook it to make sure it wasn't empty, and agreed to use the milk substitute. Opened containers of soy milk should be refrigerated - I'll let you know how I feel later. She then wayyy over-steamed the soy milk, which I wouldn't mind to a certain extent but this was overkill. It is an almond latte, but for $5 I'd very much appreciate a latte done right. Still up for trying their food and revisiting my review another day

I usually look inside as I pass by, on my way to eat somewhere else. Today I decided to give this corner spot a shot and I'm glad I did because their Pesto Chicken Sandwich is a winner. I wasn't expecting to be asked if I wanted jalapeños on it, but I was and I did and I enjoyed.

I highly recommend the mozzarella+tomato+basil sandwich which comes with a huge portion of mozzarella. The roast-beef melt is also a favorite, which comes with a healthy kick from the jalapeños. I'm pretty sure some of the other reviews are pretty old, since the food selection is decently large now, the cafe area is clean, and Nina has always been extremely nice to me and my coworkers.

Pass. I will never step foot in here again. The lady taking my order was rude. When I wake up, and make the effort to go somewhere to grab breakfast instead of cooking at home, I don't want to be treated like poop. There is no need to be rude to anyone so early in the morning. The bagel sandwiches were mediocre. The place is disgustingly dirty. Big NO for me. I try to give anything I eat or places I eat at least 2 tries before I write it off. But not this place. I'm never coming back.

She does a few things different. Pita bread instead of fried corn shells. Turkey instead of suspect beef. Hummus if you ask instead of artificial everything. Few bites in realized she does it way, way better. So good. And enough turkey spilling out to make another. Good. Definitely wanted three.

This is a great local place to get an inexpensive lunch in a part of town that is charging by the arm and the leg these days. All i want is a simple sandwich and a bag of chips without having to shell out ten bucks. Rossie is a very nice and friendly person, ya sometimes need that in the morning or mid-day when getting bite to eat. I usually get a bagel with egg, cheese and sausage, a bargain at 3 bucks or a turkey on Dutch crunch for lunch for about 4 bucks.

I really can't figure out why Nina's is actually in business or a business for that matter. We live very very close to here. Went in a couple of times and personally I think it is a money laundering front or something seedy because the food is completely uninspired and the service is the same. It's not really a cafe even. They have a pile of corn dogs & not much else in the deli display and the coffee is just plain bad! Nina gets an extra star for the use of their unsecured internet when ours goes on the fritzz.

Brought my car in for smog check across the street. Good thing for this little corner sandwich shop. Had the $6.00 gigantic chicken salad sandwich in a Crunch Roll. Either I was hungry or this was a great sandwich or both. They make it so quick!

Very rude "service," if you can even call it that. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but it looks like other people have experienced the same attitude.

I always forget about this place at lunch.... great sandwiches, fair prices, great customer service. This is the kind of hole in the wall I used to know SF for, what happened to all of them? No don't blame the techies, we all had some part in this - being the victim is harder the more you TRY

Rossi always provides great service. Her sandwiches are reasonably priced and better tasting than Subway.

Nina's is a tiny little sandwich shop.. when you go in there, they're usually busy making lunches for some of the kids in school next door. They're friendly and make tasty sandwiches for a reasonable price.

Just what I needed - a quick bacon egg and cheese on my way to the airport. For $5.25, that's just what I got. What I loved most was that this woman actually cracked the eggs and whipped them up herself; no pouring out of a carton. Definitely recommending this to people in Hayes Valley who don't have the time (or money) for the other options in the area.

They're super nice and friendly at Nina's. Most of their business comes from the schools, but they're a good local spot to get lunch for grown-ups too. The food isn't anything exceptional, but it's convenient, inexpensive and quick. Try the caeser or club wrap. Those are pretty good.

LOVE this place!!!! It's a little corner shop run by 2 fantastic women!! They are ALWAYS friendly, kind, and responsive! Their food is always fresh and delicious. And the prices are AMAZING!!!! Today I got a bagel with cream cheese (breakfast) and my tunafish sandwich (lunch) for less than $10! They are FOREVER getting my business for lunches at work!!

Great sandwiches for $6-$7. Quick grab and go. No seating available. I loved the smoked turkey sandwich loaded with jalapeños on sour dough. In and out in 3 minutes during lunch time!

A bagel and cream cheese goes for three dollars, but you can also get a Corn Dog for two. Weird. Five dollar hamburger was pretty good but caused a bit of an explosion the next day. Nina's is not catering to the yuppie invasion. It is just normal everyday airport food. Very small room. Does the job and gets you out.

If you like stale bread, day-old pastries, crusty tuna salad, paying $10 for a reheated frozen burger from Costco, and microwaved "sausage" reminiscent of dog food, Nina's Cafe is for you.

Hearty sandwiches made the way you want them for a reasonable price! I eat here most every workday, and get what I expect. No overrated Hayes Valley fair and no Hayes Valley attitude. Rossi and Mayra just offer simple, good food, and it doesn't break the bank. Stop by on Tuesdays for Mayra's Pupusas... 3 for $5 including spicy slaw and special salsa! Mondays, I recommend a tasty lasagna made by Rossi's fiance. Quite the catch, Rossi! The turkey club is a favorite at my office.

Nina's is a great place for breakfast or lunch and every Tuesday I treat myself to homemade Pupusas. I get the Zucchini with cheese, but they also have pork. Very reasonably priced and if you take a coffee break there you can watch the morning news.

This cafe doesn't look like much, but they make tasty sandwiches at very reasonable prices. I'm extremely grateful that Nina's Cafe is in business. Rosie is the nicest person in the world; she frequently delivers lunch to my daughter that attends school next door at moment's notice. Thank you so much for being so flexible...
