Where to Eat in Asheville

"A Caribbean restaurant with vegetarian-friendly options, Nine Mile is a favorite among Asheville residents for a reason. Though the interior is a little bland, the dishes are far from it. The fresh and flavorful cuisine always pleases crowds. Deciding what to order can be difficult, but Marley’s Magic, a Carolina jerk-cooked trout with ginger curry and much more, is exactly what the name suggests: magic." - MATADOR_NETWORK

Google
Such a great space! There is a mix of everything here. 9 Mile really does an amazing job of creating a space where all are welcomed. Plenty of seating in the taproom. There is even an indoor firewall with comfy couches around it. The beer was well crafted and such a good drinking experience. The pizza was good as well! Overall, 9 Mile is the kind of place you stop to try, and they are a fast favorite.

Google
I didn't like initially that they had no prices on their website, but when we arrived there the prices were definitely on a menu and every beer is about $7 Plus which isn't bad. The pizza was amazing, the pickle beer was not so good it should have came in a smaller glass, the peanut butter beer was good. I ordered cheese curds and wings for the table And a margherita pizza, and later I ordered the goat cheese pizza with the hot honey. Everything was delicious. Play my friend ordered the garlic mozzarella strips with marinara, those are delicious also.

Happy to see that Bloomington has a lovely Brewery. I was there for a absolutely lovely celebration of life for a friend of mine. All the staff was amazing, the beer was delicious, while I didn't eat any of the food it looked fantastic. It was great there was a private room for us to celebrate our dearly departed, plenty of parking, and again the kindness of all the staff during this event was an A+. Sometime I will return under different circumstances. But thank you Nine Mile brewing for being an excellent place to allow us to gather and celebrate our lovely friend that passed way too soon.

Google
2 drinks per person!? No idea who makes these rules up, so unnecessary. Don't make me work for the beers. Also don't get me wrong, beers are good, so is the space but pours for porters and stouts have to get better, the stouts are runny. Sorry I sound like a Karen but you're a brewery I expect more, sorry. Anyways, it's a great spot in the neighborhood. They let dogs and kids in, cute. Go! enjoy!

Google
Super friendly service at 9 mile. They have a walk-up serve option as well as bar service. It is a large open seating area with service st the bar, tables, and high tops. For their beer on my stop they had a NE IPA, DNEIPA, west coast IPA, theorized NEIPA, hoppy IPA, a fruited berry sour, light lager, lager, pilsner, golden ale, honeybunch tea vanilla red ale, wheat whiskey BA honeybush, English mild, Vienna lager, Double stout, and a rye porter. As a big beer person, i enjoyed the banoffee pie as well as the honeybush tea. I plan to come back.

Google
Nine Mile Brewing is the "new kid on the block". As the first craft brewery in Bloomington after the City changed their rules. My buddy and I were out for some good beer, and to see this new craft brewery. We were meeting friends for a business meeting. Location is "ok", but it took us awhile to actually FIND the place - Google got us close, but there is not good signage on where the place actually is located, and where to park. It's located in a 1-story office building area of Bloomington. They all look the same here. Tougher for us to find in the gathering darkness. The brewery is LARGE, and open in terms of floorplan. It was difficult for us to have a good meeting because of the loud and boisterous crowd. It was crowded, which I love to see! There are lots of sofa spaces, an indoor fireplace (not running), high-top tables, lower large tables, and of course ample bar space. We didn't see food being served here. There were dogs present, but not that many. Beer offerings were straight-forward, nothing "out of the box". But we have come to expect this kind of line of tap beers for relatively newer breweries. There's a cream ale, a couple of NE IPA's, a standard ale, one sour, and a line of hard seltzers. I tried the "Current Obsession" NE IPA, which was decent and straight forward, and their "Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Milk Stout" that - despite the name - didn't impress me. I couldn't taste much of any in the name. Oh well! There were 8 beer lines open on the night we were there. Someone here loves Star Wars stuff, as there's lots of that around the room. Also a large wooden canoe, and ample lighting. This brewery will evolve into a solid offering, I feel. It's new, and it was crowded when I was there. They need better signage outside, I feel. There is a private room for rental. Edit: Came to Nine Mile a second time - it was MOBBED with people, still great beer offerings, and when it is full of people, it is LOUD in there! I had a pizza from the food truck that was parked in the rear of the brewery - delicious! So fun time. But did I say IT WAS LOUD IN THERE? Wow. My ears were ringing at the end of the night (we closed her down!).

Google
This is just an amazing place. I would recommend it. My office is in Bloomington and this is a great place to take clients for a low-key event. The owners are so welcoming.

Google
Tried out the pizza last night since the kitchen is only a week old. Brought in a few friends to play games and everyone had a great time! Really digging the new food and can't wait to see what other options they come out with next!

Yelp
This brewery is large with plenty of seating and a big parking lot. They allow dogs and have many different activities such as bingo and trivia. They have a lot of board games available for use and also have dart boards. This brewery feels cozy despite being large. I appreciate that they have many NA options. Food choices are limited- they have cookies, popcorn and pretzels. Sometimes they have a foos truck though. Service is fast.

Yelp
I like this place. It's pretty chill and I really like how the outdoor patio is growing in with the trees. I'm not sure if their suds are being distributed to local shops, but you can get things to go. As you can see, I tend to come here in the cooler months and I enjoy their darker beers. This evening I'm enjoying a rye porter and the English mild. Both low octane beers that were really well balanced. The reason for the minus star is the cost of a pint is between $6-$8 and that's a me thing when you are getting the beer straight from the teat. I'm an old Flat Earth and Rush River guy and even with the costs of everything, I'm a $5 pint guy. Hell, I still drink swill (Old Style for $3) at my local dive bar. But honestly, this space is great. There are darts, games, the beer is well made and it feels like they dumped a lot of money into the space. Added benefit? No TV's so when you come with friends or solo, you have to socialize which is awesome and is what a pub should be. They also serve slushies, seltzers, and soda from Northern Soda Company. Popcorn and pretzels are offered as snacks and I'm gonna guess they get food trucks hanging out too. You'll have to follow their socials for those details.

Yelp
Nice brewery, lot of space, knowledgeable staff, nice selection of delicious craft beers. They have a pretty nice patio area to enjoy when the weather's nice. If you are in the area, stop in for a beer or two.

Yelp
Got a flight and loved all 4 beers I tried but the Hefeweizen was my favorite. Big, spacious taproom with a cozy fireplace section and lots of games and puzzles to play. Would love to go back to try more of their beer.

Yelp
We really enjoyed visiting 9 Mile Brewing. The Lurtz-Schwartzbier was great. It was also fun playing some of the games they have for customers. Plenty of parking and dogs are welcome. The food trucks help bring us in.

Yelp
9Mile is...an exceptional brewery. The staff have always knowledgable and kind....as I try to make chit chat about the current taps. The beer is always delicious. I like that the tap room is so spread out...w different seating styles throughout. Lots of big windows are a great asset too. The 9 Mile location is great too, I'll go in for a pint when they open at 2:00 so I can sneak in before the after work rush. Thanks 9 Mile for all the great beers and wonderful beer chats, cheers!

Yelp
Decent to Good Beer , in a Warehouse environment, maybe ok for groups, but not an intimate place for a date, I'd call in a group party, kinda Blue Collar, Warehouse Employees!! It a Dart throwing after Work hang out! Nothing wrong with it just not My Vibe! But Beer is Good, Service was good No Food, Snacks, Beer Food , Chips, Popcorn, Pretzels kids Stuff! No BMW's here! But Crowd was Friendly!!
google avatar

Yelp
When I went here, everyone was super friendly. It had a good variety of people hanging out and a food truck was there. I tried a few different beers and all of them were good. This had been recommended to me by one of the folks that I worked with who lived in the area and I'm glad she passed it along!

Yelp
Really nice little brewery in Bloomington, the fist tap room in that community. Not too far from MOA right off of the 35W & 94th Street exit. Nice variety of beers, something for everyone. They do a nice job on a variety of styles. They even collaborate with local baseball legend Kent Hrbek on a Kolsch and he has done appearances at the tap room. Friendly staff. My kids liked seeing the Lego builds throughout the taproom that are hanging or on shelves.

Yelp
One of the best breweries in the suburbs. The beer is solid - and there's always something new to try. They have their staples but every visit there's always a fun, unique new beer to test. They have pretzels, popcorn and cookies at the bar and almost always have some kind of food truck. They're getting a pizza place soon and I'm excited to try it out! The service here is top notch - the friendliest people. Overall just a great vibe. Good for a small group, big group - patio hang or inside. Live music, trivia ... they have it all!

Yelp
Enjoyed an evening of trying beers here. Couldn't make up my mind at first, so tried the Margarita Slushie, which was great. Had seen a dark beer with coconut online, but didn't see it on the menu right away. Went back up to get a flight and finally found the Dark beer with coconut and almond that I was looking for. Flights are a great way to try a few different things without having to get lit off of 4 or 5 beers. They appear to have a food truck rotation, at least on weekends, as they only sell popcorn and pretzels. Note when you get to the address, go along to the backside of the complex.

Yelp
Great local brewing! The brewers come from some of Minneapolis' most famous breweries and are quickly striving to find the perfect brews. They most recently released their Tangerine Guava Sour which might be one of their best releases yet! They are doing great business and are nearly always packed, which can get a little loud. They are also pet friendly and nearly everyone has their dog, I personally love that, but may be a little overwhelming for some. We personally love attending their cribbage tournaments and trivia nights! It is on our bucket list to try their morning Bends & Brews. A great neighborhood spot to hit up!

Yelp
What a great brewery! We had a relaxing and laid back time for some non-local customers. Highly recommend especially on a nice summer day!

Yelp
9 Mile has become a quick favorite with their nice selection of beers and rotating food truck. It's spacious, but almost always packed. The side room closes a little earlier than the main area so they can clean it up, so just make note before you get too settled in. There's also a nice patio with some heaters. Parking is plentiful. Staff has been so friendly and is happy to make a recommendation if you're having a hard time deciding. Nice vibe here. Dog friendly.

Yelp
Huge, warm, and inviting space with plenty of lounge style seating as well as high top tables, and about seating for 8-10 at the bar. The first brewery in Bloomington and newest to MN, they have hit the ground running with 6 exceptional beers! My favorites were the: Parallels Pale Ale Schifdtbier Light Lager

Yelp
On a hot and stormy afternoon I took a happy hour at @9milebrewing . Every time I have been to the brewery it has been packed and the beers have been flavorful with options that are both traditional and unique spins. I tried a handful of small pours to get a feel for some of their newer offerings. Nueve Millas: Heirloom Corn Lager Packed with flavor from the heirloom corn, while still maintaining a light body that you want from a corn based lager. This beer was a collaboration with @dangerousman & @nixtampls . They knocked it out of the park on this one and I ended up taking a crowler of it home! Dueling Dangerously Episode III: The 9th Mile This West Coast style IPA is another collaboration. The IPA was made with Dangerous Man Brewing and @dualcitizenbrewing . It had a good clarity to it and had a medium to medium-high hop bitterness. Lots of hop flavor as well. Money Gose, Honey Stays A key lime honey gose that had a tartness that didn't overwhelm. The tartness brought out the key lime flavor with a bit of sweetness on the backend from the honey. Pecan Pie Porter A true porter at its core that didn't stray from the path of the style. It was medium-low roasty bitterness with nuttiness and just a hint of caramel sweetness that makes you think of a Pecan Pie. Cultural Collision Cinnamon Mocha Double Stout Wait for it, another collab! This one with @thegetdowncoffeeco. I was pleasantly surprised by this one, expecting a lot of sweetness as its common to see in these mocha style stouts; however, it was perfectly bitter-sweet with a spiciness from the cinnamon that made it taste like you were drinking a big, bold, cinnamon mocha.

Yelp
Random find and worth going to. It is in an industrial park area and has a nice selection of beers and nice atmosphere.

Yelp
I'm so glad I discovered this brewery - I'm always on the hunt for dog-friendly taprooms so I can bring my pup. There is plenty of space here to have some drinks and chat with friends. Lots of drink options including NA and seltzer options. I love that there's also a side room that they're currently setting up to highlight local artists! Staff is super friendly and great about coming around to grab empty glasses. There are also lots of fun board games to play if you want. I wish the food truck stayed a little later - that's the one thing keeping me from giving 5 stars. You can certainly bring food with you though!!

Yelp
It's a stereotypical Minnesota micro brewery. Lots of IPA, food truck sometimes, pretzels otherwise. Populated primarily by white people. You know what? I love stereotypical Minnesota micro breweries. This is a great place to hang out, use the wifi, drink beer, and be warm. Also, it's right across from a Vertical Endeavors, so get your muscles sore and soothe them with beer. I usually come here to drink off a fat bike ride along the Minnesota River Bottoms. Also, they have drag bingo Mondays which I will come back for when my kids quit having so many activities.

Yelp
This was a fun spot to come for some beers! We tried out a flight and the beers were just okay. Some of the flavors tasted too similar to each other and it didn't leave us wanting more. The customer service was great and we loved how big the space was!
google avatar

Yelp
Came for happy hour with a few friends - had the two sours on tap, they were delightful. We also enjoyed Smokestack Express food truck - absolutely excellent. You MUST try their food if they are there when you visit! Will definitely be back in the future! (Especially for drag queen bingo!) I think our group managed to try half the rotation and all were very much enjoyed. The selection is good!

Yelp
Who doesn't love a brand new brewery to try? Better yet, the first brewery in the city of Bloomington! What's even cooler is that the founder had to work with the city to change the law that prevented breweries from serving beer on-site. I also recommend reading the articles on this place. It's great to hear how this brewery became nine mile brewing and all the local people that helped make it the way it is. The brewery itself is tucked back in the industrial parts of Bloomington. It looks like a business complex instead of a brewery. It's sorta cool but also kind of an odd spot. I read that they will be building a patio this spring so I am looking forward to that. It wouldn't be a brewery without a patio. The inside is very spacious with tall ceilings. It's very simple decor but cozy, with a big gas fireplace and couches. They do have small snacks you can order along with the beer, of course. Otherwise, feel free to bring your own food or even better, delivered. The beer is wonderful! Nothing too out of the ordinary. I have been here twice now on the weekends and it has been packed! You might have a little trouble finding a seat at first but it's worth the wait. I really enjoy the local feel here. Everyone is happy and welcoming!

Yelp
My wife and I brought some tacos into Nine Mile, which just opened. (Tacos were great) The place is big! We sat at a table top in the middle of the bar area. They charged a dollar for stickers, so minus one star. You are charging me for free advertising? Okay. The lady behind the counter was very nice, but she carded me? I am 47. I am all for legal drinking, but I am not for madness. This was insane. I ordered two IPAs, and they were very good. I am glad there is a tap room in Bloomington, I just wish people used sanity, instead of insanity in overall life. Nice place though.
google avatar

Kayla L.

Yelp
I went in a Saturday afternoon and it was a busy place! I found a table for two right away though. This place allows dogs and my dog thoroughly enjoyed the visit and so did I! Unfortunately they were out of the sour, but I'll absolutely be back to try it! I had the lemon lime seltzer and it was decent. Lots of parking in a big lot!
google avatar

Taylor B.

Yelp
Love it! Great vibes, great food and drinks and always love a dog friendly place. I really enjoy that they have so much space!
google avatar

Timothy L.

Yelp
Atmosphere is great. Pet friendly is a plus with plenty of seating options to couches, stools, or chairs . Location is slightly hidden but a cozy area nonetheless. Beers are okay, if you're an IPA lover, this is the place to be but it could improve on the variety. Great place to have a few drinks with friends or family. Overall A great experience and I will be returning!
google avatar

Dennis L.

Yelp
Good IPA Choices! Very lively, usually have the games on, ton of parking and dog friendly! They rotate what beer options are available which is fun!
google avatar

Kurt R.

Yelp
Made our maiden voyage to 9 mile tonight. Lots mote seating than it looks like from the outside. Had the sea salt dark chocolate milk stout. Loved the salty chocolate flavor. My wife has the Lulo goldenberry sour. She doesn't care for beer, so sours are her jam. She thought it was very tasty. We also tried the food truck they had. Dip n eat. Food wasn't too bad but we were there for the drinks. Lots of seating options. Lots of board abd card games. Just a fun experience. We'll definitely be back again!
google avatar

Coley B.

Yelp
The beer is tasty! The trivia is a fun activity to do with friends and the food truck outside is delicious.

Yelp
This place was great. It was my first time I have been here and I was so happy I did it with my cousin Kim, and her husband Jordan. I've been fortunate enough to go to a lot of breweries but this one here is definitely part of my top 10. My first brew was a pale ale called Parallels. It was very smooth and delicious, after I tried the "Uncle Buck" cause why not? Always been a fan of John Candy from his many famous acting rolls specially Uncle Buck. This one was a smooth and Dark. I definitely enjoyed the "hip and new" ambiance of the place as well as the bartender who had great customer service. It was definitely a place to come back to hopefully soon in the future. Thanks for the service. We all had a great time! #schroyerfamilydaily #arrenschroyer #brewery #paleale #brew #darkbeer #localbreweries #unclebuck #johncandy #alcohol #dontdrinkanddrive #supportlocalbrewing #9Milebrewery #ninemile #ninemilebrewery

Yelp
Random find on a business trip...not an IPA drinker so can't comment on those, but the Uncle Bucks and House Pub Ale were both great. Great space, plenty of bar games.

Glenn S.

Yelp
I tried both House Pub Ale English style and Schifdtbier. The Schifdtbier is the house lager. Both were very good. The House Pub Ale is a dark beer but does not have an overpowering taste. Very smooth. The brewery does not serve food. They did not have a food truck the evening we were there but their website does list the dates for the food trucks. Nice open wide area inside. We found a spot by the fireplace and had a very comfortable evening. Located in Bloomington commercial area. A little difficult to find but drive around towards the back of the complex and you will see it.

David P.

Yelp
The best! Great atmosphere, friendly staff, amazing beers crafted on site. I couldn't ask for more.

Nathan L.

Yelp
Such a secluded spot in a business complex that doesn't actually look open besides the amount of cars in the parking lot. This brewery is brand new and has a ton to offer. Big open lounge as well as bar and table seating. The beer tender that initially helped me out said, "Welcome Home." Not being from Bloomington I never would've guessed that this diamond was hiding from me as well as most, I would think. Every staff member is available and inviting, knowing me by name after being here for more than 10 minutes. Outstanding beer and outstanding staff. If Watson, or Tim are working, they will treat you like family. Be on the lookout Bloomington, 9 Mile is going to take over.
