Ningaloo Discovery Whale Shark Tours

We had the absolute pleasure of joining Ningaloo Discovery’s Whale Shark tour on the catamaran on April 24th, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! A special thank you to Derick, who went above and beyond taking care of our parents. They were quite nervous about getting in the water, but Derick’s patience, encouragement, and genuine care made all the difference — helping them feel safe and confident enough to swim with the whale sharks. We are so grateful for the support he gave them throughout the day! Bella and Tash were also absolutely fantastic – warm, professional, and full of positive energy. They created such a welcoming and fun atmosphere, making sure everyone on board felt comfortable, informed, and excited. Their enthusiasm for what they do is infectious! The whole crew were brilliant. Even though we can’t remember their names, the skipper and deckhand were fantastic too – incredibly friendly, professional, and made sure everything ran smoothly. You could really tell the whole team loved what they do, and it made the day that much more special. We can’t recommend Ningaloo Discovery highly enough. Thank you again to Derick, Bella, Tash, and the entire crew for making April 24th a day we’ll never forget!

Today we boarded the Windcheetah for an eco Whale shark tour with Ningaloo Discovery on the sailing catamaran. Our two daughters (6 & 9 years old) came with us and we had a special day. The waves got us girls a little bit noscious, but nevertheless we got to experience lots of good stuff. As we came on board we all had our wetsuits and snorkeling gear handed to us. After a good safety instruction it was about to be time to get in the water for a snorkle. Both our girls were happy to go in with the noodles the crew handed out. Then out at the back of the Reef, we got to swim with manta's. The sea was a bit more rough and I was not that confident so decided not to go back in. Husband did enjoy all the jumps in the water. Us girls had our eyes on the horizon. In the meanwhile we got to see a humpback calf bridge, AMAZING! After lunch, suddenly there was a Whale shark. As I said, I decided not to go back in. Big thanks to Tilly! She came over and asked if I was sure. She promised to take care of me and she certainly did! I went in and got to swim with the Whale shark. If Tilly didn't come to me, I would have missed it. Just can't thank her enough. So super happy! After two jumps in with the Whaleshark we got back inside the reef where we were treated with the sight of three dugongs (and some bubbles on deck). Amazing day! We enjoyed a fabulous day with Ningaloo Discovery on a whale shark snorkeling tour. The crew was friendly and knowledgeable and we were lucky so encounter four whale sharks within a short period of time. We also saw whales, dolphins and turtles. Highly recommended this tour!

Fabulous day on and below the water on the sailing catamaran. A chilly start but still amazing experience. The crew were exceptional and gave so much info and looked after us. I had a leaking mask and they were so patient getting one that fitted better and helped adjust until all good. We saw at least 3 whale sharks and they hung around. They did 6 drops to swim with them and 2 snorkels in the Lagoon. A must do tour.

We had the best experience with Ningaloo Discovery. We did the Whale Sharks tour and the Sunset sail and can definitely recommend them both. From the experience to the incredible crew, both trips went off without a hitch and we have the loveliest memories from it ☺️ Zach was our skipper on both trips and a great laugh. Tash our photographer and I’ll let her pictures do the talking and the rest of the crew, I’m sorry I forgot names but they were all amazing. Would 100% go with them again!

We went out with Zack, Sam, Nicole, Grace and Sana on 1/4/25. What a day!! From the moment we were picked up from our resort, our excitement levels were through the roof. We were a group of 11 (5 adults and 4 kids swimming plus an adult and child observing) and the crew did everything they could to make our day amazing. Nicole’s tour guide info while we drove to the boat ramp was great, and Graces driving was excellent (no motion sickness for us!). Once we got to the boat ramp, the crew were very clear with their instructions and what we needed to do as well as how to keep us all safe. We were picked up by Zack our skipper who was an absolute legend. Once on the boat we met Sam who happily got anything we needed (like an extra set of fins when we broke our own pair!). Once we were out on the water, the crew were great at making sure we had everything we needed and had us all organised for our whale shark swim. We did a quick snorkel on the inner lagoon to test our gear and have some photos, and then we were off to find some big spotty fish! We had 4 swims with the same whale shark, all before lunch! It was the most incredible experience! Sana was a great guide and communicated so well. The kids absolutely loved it and Nicole’s photos captured everything so clearly! We had a snorkel on the outer reef in the arvo because the conditions were just too good to pass it up. We saw turtles, reef sharks, fish, incredible coral, it was amazing! Lunch was delicious, and the casual ride back to shore was wonderful. It was the most incredible experience and we are so grateful for the passion and enthusiasm from our crew. Thank you all so much for making our one-in-a-lifetime experience so enjoyable and memorable. I cannot recommend you all highly enough.

we couldn’t have asked for a better day out on the water. The crew of Windcheater took great care of us and had us swimming up close with different Whale Sharks for over an hour. If you’re looking for a wholesome but action packed experience this is the one! We’re still buzzing!

Fantastic day. Great crew 6 opportunities to jump in and see the whale sharks and snorkelling reef areas before and after that. What an amazing day! Very knowledgeable crew and helpful especially in the water. I thoroughly recommend this tour. Thanks for a trip of a lifetime!
