Lovely intimate lunch setting. Incredible food using seasonal locally sourced and grown produce. Very much enjoyed Carla’s explanation of each dish and storytelling behind their inspiration.

Very good experience, would highly recommend. All food exceptionally delicious, combining local ingredients (seafood caught that morning and herbs and vegetables grown in the on-site garden) and some exotic flavours. I liked the idea of a set menu where each dish was carefully curated and everyone is having the same shared experience. The drinks list is full and varied, particularly for such a small and remote venue. I would say as a point of constructive criticism that the crackers which went with the cheese board were poor quality basic supermarket crackers which were not in keeping with the quality of the rest of the meal and made the cheese board slightly less enjoyable. I definitely wouldn't expect home made crackers but there are lots of nice artisan brands e.g. Peter's Yard or Fine Cheese Co. or a small business Scottish oatcake e.g. Adamson's oatcakes. We enjoyed a couple of home made Ninth Wave chocolates after dinner later and they were very nice, too. Thank you Carla and Jonny for your hospitality, we would definitely return if we found ourselves in the area again.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to and certainly the best on Isle of Mull. It was such a taste journey; a really exciting experience. The fish dishes were the highlights. The lobster with the wonton was heavenly and the salmon courgette flower left us speechless. Even the cocktails were ultra special with a homemade banana marshmallow which was like nothing I have ever tasted before. Finally the sticky toffee pudding and parfait were divine. Everything from start to finish was magical. Thank you Carla and team.

We were lucky enough to find this wee place and get a table on a recent visit to Mull. Wow! This was a unique dining experience. The four courses were exquisite and it was so hard to choose between them. The photos show only how beautifully presented they were but they can’t convey the depth of flavour that was packed into each mouthful or the quality of the ingredients and cooking. John and Carla have created something really magical here and it was a treat to be served by the man himself. Haute cuisine without a shred of pretension. A rare find! Go!

Absolutely a must visit for lunch. The presentation and attention to detail are spot on. Caral explains the thought behind every course and the history of the produce on the plate. This was our 2nd visit and again were blown away by the taste sensation. Simply superb.

If you get the opportunity go and enjoy lunch at Carla Lamont's lovely little restaurant. The fish depends what John catches and Carla's take on local produce and foraged food and inspiration from her travels. Absolutely superb service too.

First of all, we would like to thank you all for the great experience! The food was absolutely stunning. The flavours and combination was amazing. The lobster was probably the freshest lobster I have ever eaten. The service was spectacular from the moment we stepped into the door. We had an amazing evening! I would definitely recommend this amazing place if you're visiting Mull, even if you live on the other side of Mull as we did. Thank you all again!

Brilliant place, fine sea foods, well presented and extremely tasty. Had a great dinner her. Booking essential but they also have a waiting list to take a chance on. Overall really nice restaurant.

Yelp
This is an extraordinary place. There is one sitting per evening (only with reservation). The restaurant is a creative endeavor of husband and wife. Four small courses plus coffee and chocolates. Emphasis on seafood which is caught fresh off of Mull. The flavors and presentation are delicate, and the service refined and tactful, the environment is very warm and welcoming. If you are new to Mull, Ninth Wave feels like an incredible discovery off the beaten path and somewhat of a sanctuary.

Yelp
Very lovely restaurant and the food is exquisite and tastefully presented. I had dinner there a few years ago and, as one must, I had a reservation for just me. I showed up at the appropriate time and was placed next to a very loud birthday party. This wouldn't ordinarily be a problem, but the venue is very small, only allowing for a handful of sittings each night. For the price I paid [over £80 for one person, including tip] I expected a bit better atmosphere. The meal was nice, though a bit over-priced, but the ambience really was not good. I come to Fionnphort every year, but have not been back to the Ninth Wave since my one and only visit there in 2012.
