Nirvana on the Beach

First stayed here nearly three years ago and loved it. Return trip did not disappoint. I don’t know how anyone can give this place a bad review. The room is still amazing. Same staff as last time which I feel says something about the place/employers. The ability to walk up and down the beach to eat and drink at different venues is really good (came here after a week at Sandals Royal Caribbean (Montego Bay) and time at RIU Palace Tropical Bay (Negril) with friends. Slight issue with toilet not flushing but was remedied straight away. Have stayed at six different locations in Negril and this is our favourite. Can’t wait to return in August 2027 for our 40th wedding anniversary. Thank you Nirvana.

I have been traveling to Negril for 25 years and stayed at many wonderful places.. Nirvana is the best for real Jamaican Hospitality! The cottages are charming and rustic, super clean, comfortable and the location and beach front pure perfection. The staff were so welcoming and genuine. I felt immediately at home. I would highly recommend it!

We just got back and survived Category 4 hurricane Beryl! Thanks to the very strong and well built property and the wonderful staff, we felt safe and very comfortable the entire time. They were well equipped with emergency plans and solutions. They had the gas generator up and running once the hurricane knocked out power to continue electricity and water flow while most of the country was out otherwise.|We consider Nirvana our home away from home. There are many reasons we return year after year. It is situated perfectly in the middle of beautiful 7 Mile beach in Negril. The location allows for simply walking right or left on the beach to numerous restaurants and bars. The property is perfectly maintained inside and out by wonderful staff that take pride in their work. The interior gardens are full of lush, tropical plants, including numerous Orchids. This welcomes wonderful bird and butterfly watching during the stay. The beach is awesome because it stays shaded enough during the day that you have the choice of shade under the palms or full sun. Also making it a perfect beach for families with small children to avoid all day sun.| Plenty of space and plenty of options. The staff has been the same for the 20+ years that we have been visiting, which makes them like family. We have stayed in several cottages and Sun Decks, and finally made our way into the crown jewel, the Owner's Villa a few years ago. All the lodging options are great. Not fancy, but simple and comfortable and spotlessly clean. All our time is spent outside on the beach and in the crystal clear waters, with exception of sleeping. The security is top notch and do their job of keeping us safe very well. The cottages include cooking if interested and the meals are always the best!!!

Nirvana staff are friendly and available. Booking and airport pickup professional and friendly. Our garden apartment was very clean and comfortable, with a large tiled bathroom and excellent shower. Kitchen was well supplied with a big toaster, toaster oven, 2 burner hot plate, a giant refrigerator with lots of ice cubes, a blender. Plenty of hot water. |Beds were comfortable, nice porch overlooking the gardens blooming with orchids. Beach big and private with good security, hammock and lounge chairs and tables. Two good restaurants nearby that I enjoyed, and live music down the beach. Very good massage therapist on duty. I always felt safe and comfortable. If I go to Jamaica again I will definitely stay at Nirvana.

Jamaica as a whole is a very relaxing time. Nirvana on the Beach is a wonderfully quiet spot on Negrils seven mile beach. We were taken care of by the staff above and beyond expected. This is the cleanest place of all the places we have stayed at on the seven mile beach. So happy to give this place high ratings and never will regret spending our vacation here.

I visited Nirvana in January 2024 with 8 friends and a 16-month old. The adults are all in our mid-30s. We had a wonderful time for a week at Nirvana!! The staff were very warm and friendly and the accommodations were just great for our needs. It's not a luxury location but it's perfectly excellent for hanging around, cooking, and is very safe. The grocery store is a walkable distance away or a short cab ride. If you want the party spot with loud music and lots of drinks this is NOT it. People were quiet in the evenings and if we wanted to find a bar we just walked a few minutes down the beach. The beach area is protected by a staff person all day and he'll watch your stuff while you swim or go for a walk, or shoo away the vendors if you're not interested. We did buy fresh cocoa bread, fresh juice, and patties every single day from the beach walkers and we just loved that! Every other place in walking distance on beach had beach chairs and people piled up all the way to the beach, the area at Nirvana is set back and much more relaxed and protected. Everyone else we met while staying there had come back multiple times and even up to 10+ years. ||Our only issue (and it was a significant one) was we had a medical issue and needed to go to the hospital for a dislocated ankle and it turns out a broken leg. We would not under any circumstances recommend going to the Public Hospital about 45 minutes away. Save those resources for the locals who have limited options and desperately need the resource. Instead we ended up eventually paying out of pocket for the private hospital in Negril which was a 2 minute drive away. Do not go to the public hospital, you will regret it. ||I'll end on a very positive note - the staff was so warm and helpful. We arranged a driver and were able to go with the same person to/from the airport (about 1.5 hours away) and then for a day "out and about." They made us feel so taken care of. Sandra is amazing and we each got massages in the open air within sight of the beach which was one of the most relaxing moments of my year. The cabins are clean and tidy and great for a family or sitting around over a meal. We spent our days reading on the beach or playing in the water, taking out a kayak for a paddle or enjoying the occasional Red Stripe. We had "the ladies" cook for us 3x and would definitely recommend doing so! The curry dishes, rice/peas, and green were all a treat. There' also a real rustic street BBQ place down the road with amazing jerk chicken and the restaurant next door had a fine lunch takeout selection. I'd recommend bringing your own coffee down since it was so expensive there! All food was pricey both in restaurants or at the grocery store. ||We hope to return again, it is a magical place.

The cottage my wife and I shared with a friend felt like home from the moment we arrived. Located right smack in the middle of Negril Beach, yet relatively private, Nirvana is within a 10-minute walk in either direction from fantastic Jamaican cuisine, drinking establishments, recreational activities and shopping. The accommodations are comfortable, modern, and safe, with a staff that goes out of its way to treat you as family. Management will arrange reliable and friendly taxi service wherever you need or want to go, including round trip from and back to the airport in Montego Bay. Nirvana's little stretch of beach is as clean and pristine as you'll find anywhere in the world, with plenty of shade trees to relax beneath. We absolutely loved it there, everything about it, and can't wait to go back.
