Nishitetsu Resort Inn Beppu

Our stay at the Nishitetsu Resort Inn Beppu was a bit of a mixed bag, primarily due to the room size. We found the accommodations to be smaller than we had anticipated, which is something to keep in mind if you are traveling with a lot of luggage. Specifically, the double bed felt quite tight and wasn't really sufficient for two adults to be truly comfortable for a long stay, though it was manageable enough to adjust for a single night. Despite the snug quarters, the hospitality was absolutely wonderful. The staff were welcoming and professional, ensuring we felt at home from the moment we checked in. The hotel's location is also a major highlight; it is incredibly convenient with bus stops situated right in front of the building, making it easy to explore the city's famous hot springs. There are also several malls and an ABC-Mart in the immediate vicinity, so shopping for essentials or footwear is never an issue. Another significant advantage for travelers is the hotel's proximity to the Beppu Port. Being so close to where the Sunflower Ferry operates makes this a perfect base if you are planning to travel by sea. While the rooms are on the compact side, the combination of great service and a prime location near the water and transport links makes it a solid choice for a short stopover in Beppu.

The free Yukata rental, breakfast, friendly staff and onsen with outdoor section is why you should choose to stay here!! Other things were English speaking staff, English tv (streaming/phone cast), it's cleanliness and location. The cleaners greet you with good morning, and the breakfast servers are incredibly friendly and helped me a ton even though I was late. Seriously they made my day by offering everything before throwing it out! The onsen is a perfect upscale n clean japanese style with an indoor and outdoor section and its open super late. Wearing the yukata around the hotel and to the onsen was really fun and role playish. Luggage storage was very useful even before and after checkout! Lastly the bus to oita station is right infront aswell as the local bus station is right beside. It's just 5mins to downtown beppu where u can hit local onsens, beside a korean bbq and family style pasta place, aswell as a shopping department store. I really reccomend here with the only cons being the single bed for 2 north American sized people is very tight, and the room is small, and sandals are too small if your feet at US 12 or bigger. All cons from Japan norms and not this hotel tbh.

It was a bit of a walk to Beppu Station (about 10-15 minutes) but there is a bus stop right outside that serves as a terminal station for some bus lines (but not ideal if departing for Beppu Station as it is the departing stop). There is a departmental store across the street next to a convenience store. Rooms were standard Japanese size (rather small) with limited space for luggage. Bathroom is rather cramped with a small bathtub and shower combo. We preferred to take baths at the onsen available on the 2nd floor.

We had a sleep over here. The room is small which I could understand but it’s the aircon which drove me crazy. It’s so warm at night and despite turning on that small fan, it doesn’t help. The tub was also small and thus I went to the onsen to shower. The onsen could have washed better. I could feel the floor slippery.

The location is just perfect. Right next to the Tokiwa mall. For a first time traveller to Japan, its a convenient location for public bus, and express bus to Fukuoka Intl airport, walking distant to Beppu statiin. Will consider staying here again.

Amazing location, near the main bus station and just a few minutes walk to city center. Staff super polite and amazing service! Very good Onsen experience (and free!). Cheap and excellent service overall!

You can NOT control the AC in your unit. The admin controls it. So if you are looking for that freezing temp, don't. The rooms are so small. It's great for one person. Anything beyond that is really a tight space. It is, however, close to the bus station and Beppu Tower. There is a public onsen in the building that charged 500 Yen. Staff are nice and pleasant to deal with. The TV isn't a smart TV, and there are no English subtitles. The bed is comfortable, but the pillow gave me a headache (it is not a comfortable pillow).

The rooms are very small. It's comfortable for no more than 2 people. Bathroom is tiny that it's hard to turn around without bunping into the walls but there is a tub. Service was friendly. Check in and out is through the kiosk at the entrance. A staff was kind enough to assist with the process. The biggest con is you cannot control the room temperature so you are at the mercy of the hotel. Location is good as it's central to all attractions. Beppu tower is right next door. There are two department stores close by (You me where theres a grocery store and Tokiwa right across the street). Beppu Station is about a 15 min walk. There is a public onsen on the 2nd floor for 500 yen. Overall it was a clean hotel and pleasant for a short stay.
