When I was working at Voltas Oman LLC on the OAAM Museum Project, we had many opportunities to visit Nizwa Fort — and every time, it felt special. The fort’s massive circular tower, solid stone walls, and clever defence design always caught my attention. Standing on top and looking over the palm groves, the souq, and the distant mountains was a view I never got tired of.
Walking through its rooms, I could almost feel the history — the stories of leadership, trade, and community that shaped this region. And, of course, the nearby Nizwa Souq made every visit even more memorable, with its mix of traditional crafts, spices, and Omani hospitality.
If someone visits during the Eid holidays, they’re in for something truly special—traditional dances, heartfelt greetings, and a lively crowd of locals coming together to celebrate their cultural heritage. These moments, filled with music, color, and a strong sense of community, will surely become cherished memories.
For me, Nizwa Fort isn’t just a tourist site; it’s a place where history, culture, and personal memories meet.
