We had a solid stay at the NJV Athens Plaza Hotel. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of downtown Athens, just steps from Parliament and Syntagma Square. We even got to watch the grand Sunday changing of the guards, which was such a special experience. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and generous, and although the hotel is a bit older, it’s kept relatively clean. The staff was polite enough—not overly warm, but certainly not rude. That said, a few things could be improved. They only offer two small complimentary bottles of water, no matter how many nights you’re staying, which felt a bit stingy—especially given the summer heat and how generous other hotels in Greece were in this regard. The towels were rough and the beds weren’t very comfortable, likely due to older spring mattresses that could really use an upgrade. Also, we found it a bit odd that all the lobby furniture was extremely low to the ground, making it an uninviting place to sit and relax, especially when waiting for your room to be ready. All in all, it was a convenient and decent stay, and the location truly makes it worth it, though there’s definitely room for improvement in comfort and amenities.

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Athens, you won’t find a better place to stay. It is centrally located to the antiquities, the Parthenon, Acropolis and museum are nearby. We had a beautiful view of the Acropolis from our balcony, especially when it was lit up at night. The room was clean and spacious and the he staff is extremely accommodating. The breakfast buffet was fabulous and was plentiful and delicious. If that’s not enough or you want something different, they’ll prepare eggs to your order. As with anywhere else in Greece, the goal is to never leave you wanting. NJV Athens Plaza, in this way was exceptional.

The positive - the hotel is in close vicinity to shopping, attractions, restaurants etc. A 12-15 min walk to just about everything. |The service was good especially housekeeping. The service is not always personable. |The negative - no pool, no fitness. The elevators are way too small for guests and luggage. |Tip- if you are on a schedule, make some time to make multiple rides to get an elevator down or up. I ran down met the elevator pushes the floor then met it back up. ||The breakfast was decent. The food was fresh and hot. Depending which day, the service was slower. ||The room - very modern with technology for lights. The bed was extremely firm and we couldn’t open the window nor could we look out. The glass was shaded. Very odd

We had two rooms for my husband and I are our adult children at the NJV Athens Plaza, and the hotel managed to assign us adjoining rooms, which was very convenient. The rooms were very spacious, and the bathrooms had loads of counter space. There were bathtubs with glass doors to protect the bathroom from the shower spray. The water pressure was very nice too. The hotel si across from the Parliament building and the balconies overlooked the square park in front of Parliament. We had cute little boxes of macarons waiting for us in our rooms and they were so tasty. The rooms came with breakfast and the breakfast buffet was very nice. It contained a variety of fruits, meats, cheeses, Greek yogurt, cereals, pastries breads, as well as hot dishes including scrambles eggs, sausages, tomatoes, etc. The bar downstairs looked very modern and beautiful, although we didn’t have any drinks there. It was a very comfortable hotel, with a convenient location close to the market and shopping districts.

The room was slightly outdated in terms of decor, but it still offers a comfortable stay. Room service was excellent with great selection and prompt delivery. The buffet breakfast was decent with a fair variety of options, though nothing particularly standout. Location was good—short walking distance to lots of food options and only about a 20 min walk to the Acropolis. Overall, a solid choice if you value service and location over modern finishes.

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a very pleasant experience. The service was excellent—staff were attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. The hotel itself looks quite modern, especially in the common areas, which are stylish and well-maintained. However, the rooms are a bit of a mixed bag. Some have been refurbished and feel fresh and updated, while others still have an older, more dated look. It’s worth checking ahead if a modern room is important to you. One of the biggest highlights is the location—it’s incredibly convenient, with easy access to key attractions, restaurants, and public transport. All in all, a great choice if you value good service and a prime location, just be mindful of the room type you book.

The hotel is beautiful, the staff was always very nice and warm. The rooms were beautiful and the beds were lovely. We had our best sleep here out of the 10 days we were in Greece. The location is excellent! You are within walking distance in so many great restaurants, shopping, and important sites. When we come to Athens, this is where we will stay.

It was a nice place but not amazing. Our deck had no view, pretty basic for a “superior” room. There’s NO POOL and it was very not. Our AC worked mildly for the heat. The staff were very nice. The bellman was great and gave us sound advice for traveling. It’s a touch outdated and could use some larger elevators.
