I stayed at Nkorho Bush Lodge for 3 days in July. The lodge is excellent, well laid out and spacious (they have done an EXCELLENT job of balancing luxury with privacy), the rooms are spacious, well equipped, the bathrooms are modern with inside and outside showers . Pieter (guide) and Chris (tracker) were simply awesome, there knowledge of the bush and the animals made a huge difference to the game drives. We saw all of the Big 5 as well as Wild Dogs and Cheeta (the Magnificent Seven). Also, a big shout out to the total staff who made the stay awesome. The selection of wines was impressive and the ability to have an Espresso Martini as a sundowner topped off the first night with something special.||A few suggestions. The morning and evening drives can be cold so make sure you have warm clothing, also they have awesome beanie’s and fleeces if you forget. Make sure you ask questions – the knowledge they have takes the trip to the next level.

Our family of 4 had a wonderful 3 night stay at Nkorho as part of a personalised 7 day safari trip organised by Wild Wings Safari (see my separate review). The accommodation at Nkorho was great (though I would prefer a door on the bathroom). That said, the rooms were great with a deck out the front providing views over the water hole, visited throughout the day by assorted wildlife. The meals are very good and we enjoyed dinner in 3 difference locations around the lodge, including a barbeque (braai) in the bush. The staff were all very friendly and the service was excellent. Roun was our safari guide and Rufous our tracker - both were excellent. Every day delivered an assortment of animals and every day delivered at least one excellent sighting - including hyena pups and a leopard eating its kill up a tree. A lovely feature of the safari trips was a morning coffee (served with Amarula if you wanted!) and muffins, and in the evening a drink of your choice and snacks. These were a great opportunity to socialise, reflect on what we had seen thus far, and nicely broke up the time in the vehicle. I highly recommend Nkorho, they provided a wonderful safari visit.

Just had 4 days on safari. Probably 4 of the best days on holiday ever. Safari guides were amazing, helpful, very knowledgeable and great to travel with. Saw the big five within first two days. Accomodation is very good and staff extremely attentive and accomodating. This lodge is open to the bush but with security for larger animals. In all my travels of which I have had many, I can say that the experience and comfort of Nkorho lodge should be considered by anyone who wants older style bush excitement rather than a city hotel in the bush. I did not know what to expect but got so much more than I planned. Ruan and rifus as ranger and tracker were like bush encyclopaedias. They even taught us all about planets and stars. I would come back to this lodge without a doubt. We saw leopards on every trip out. What an experience |John McC

Wonderful staff and great location. Small modern resort with a lot of personal attention. Warm welcome and very friendly and accommodating staff. Game drives excellent with knowledgeable en most importantly very enthusiastic staff. Obviously a great team! Ruan was the perfect guide. Rooms spacious, clean and in excellent condition. Breakfast and lunch good. Supper a bit disappointing. All considered: Highly recommended and worth the money!

Thanks to Blackwood Safaris, I had the good fortune to live in luxury in the South African bush. Courteous and professional staff, fine dining, excellent accommodation and best of all... fantastic Trackers and Guides. Oh, the wildlife we saw!

In 2022 I wrote that Nlorho Bush Lodge is a location where you would feel “home away from home” far away from normal live! Meanwhile we had been back to - once again - smell the humble visits to animals habitat together with Pieter and his colleagues under the supervision of Anja. Well guys, we will be back in coming November! Exited already.

A truly wonderful and unforgettable experience. We spent 3 nights here and got to see all of the big 5! If you love safaris and seeing wild animals in their natural habitats, this is the best place. Twice daily game drives give you ample opportunities to see the wildlife, and even if you choose not to join, there are always lots of animals gathering in front of the lodge for your viewing pleasure. The bushwalks are a hit or miss given that most animals have a natural fear of humans. Lunch and dinner options are great, though some desserts may not be to everyone's tastes. Chalets are spacious, clean and equipped with everything you can expect from a top hotel in the city (except for a TV, which you shouldn't be wasting time watching anyway). We want to give our special appreciation to Kayla for helping to settle our airport transfer when we had missed our flight, Ruan for his enthusiasm and boldness in chasing down every lead (even thru thick undergrowth) so we can see the animals up close, and Rifos for his understated expertise and skill in tracking down all the animals.

This place is one of the best lodge outside Kruger. Their guides are amazing, they work hard so much to make sure that you have best experience in the game drives . Guided bush walks are amazing experience, I learnt so much new things about wild life, their behavior and fauna in the are . Thank you Ruan, Kayla and rest of the gang .
