Visiting Nkyinkyim Museum was one of the most moving experiences I’ve had in Ghana. The way the museum uses sculptures—hundreds of concrete and terracotta heads—to honor the lives of enslaved Africans is deeply powerful. You can feel the weight of history here, but also a strong sense of restoration and respect. The Griot storytellers add so much depth, guiding you through the narrative not just as history, but as lived memory. I left with a renewed understanding of the legacy of the slave trade—and hope—because the museum doesn’t only recall pain, it also speaks of resilience.

This place depicts a lot of history in Africa and not only in Ghana. The tour guides are excellent historians very passionate about history and are great storytellers. They are very professional and patient. I loved the artwork and ingenuity of the place. The museum houses a lot of stories of our ancestry and pays tribute to our heritage. In all it was a remarkable and nostalgic experience.

Visit to this museum comes highly recommended. It’s been a while since I’ve witnessed such passion, dedication, intention, and creativity. The art work and the narrative, inspired amazing discussions and new connections even amongst the group of us who visited. Thank you so much to our guide Edem and that’s to the organizers for following their own intuition and creativity To deliver this epic legacy project Absolutely Gold x

We visited Nkyinkyim museum and what an exprience we had! Our guide was friendly, patient, knowledgeable and engaging. Nothing was rushed, questions were answered and lessons were taught. Clearly the artist is creative and innovative, courageous and confident in persuing his dream of getting the message across. The museum is an important fixture in Ghana, relaying the transatlantic slave hisory and much more. I would recommend tourists and nationals alike to visit the museum and get the Nkyinkyim expeience. 5* all the way. For me it was a very spiritual experience. Highly recommended.

Amazing experience, seeing the sculptures with the stories behind them. Also, it's one a kind in Ghana.

This museum is a must try if you are in the area. Very informative, clean it was and the good part was the guide, full of knowledge of his subject , it was a delight to be listening to the stories and facts behind the whole museum. We did enjoy our tour which was less than 1 hour for less than 100 cedis.

Beautiful place with informative tour. If you have plans on eating there, order before you take the tour because it takes an hour and more to get the food done. Don’t believe any price tag, you see online. The tour and food costs more.
