I stopped by No Vacancy recently and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the staff were genuinely warm, attentive and easygoing. The cocktails were also solid; well-made, balanced, and definitely a highlight of the night.
Unfortunately, where things fell short was with the food. The pork skewers we ordered came with a red wine sauce that was overwhelmingly sweet, which completely overpowered the meat and threw off the dish. We also ordered the madai which tasted pretty flat and underwhelming. The dishes felt unbalanced overall, and set the tone for the rest of the food offerings.
Overall, No Vacancy has a great vibe with friendly staff and good drinks, but the kitchen could really benefit from reworking the menu and adjusting flavors to match the quality of the bar program. I’d come back for cocktails, but would skip the food until improvements are made.
