I write this with mixed feelings. Noah House is beautiful, well located, quiet and with very comfortable beds. The staff (when they are there, more about that below) are delightful. The breakfast was minimalist but good and beautifully presented. ||But. |I was in the premium room with a balcony, larger than the other rooms. The bedroom has no cupboards at all. There is a clothes rack for hanging clothing in the bathroom, and one modest sized drawer in the bathroom which could be used for clothing. So I lived out of my suitcase, which I have never before had to do, even in a modest hotel. ||There is a desk for business travelers who may need to work on their laptops, but no chair. There is a round backless stool, not ideal. There is no easy chair in the bedroom, so its the bed or the stool if you want to read a book or drink a cup of tea.||There is no tea and coffee station in the room, but it is available in a common area, not great if you are in your jarmies. ||Liquid soap and bodywash is provided, but no hair conditioner, which would have been convenient.||Lapses included a TV, but no remote, and on the second day, no hot water for my morning shower. I sent a WhatsApp to the mobile number provided just after 8pm (to request a remote), to which I received an automated response that I would receive assistance only between 8am and 5pm. (There was no staff at all in the establishment at that time.) So if a geyser burst, or a fire started in the establishment, it would be for the guests to sort out without any ability to contact management. |I am tempted to say, as a Joburger, that that attitude by the owners/management is soooo Cape Town! Whatever, it shows disregard for the guests and I for one will not book there again.
