The Best Hotels in Cape Town for a Truly Local Stay - AFAR

"Housed in a restored 19th-century residence dating to about 1860 in a quiet Tamboerskloof neighborhood, this intimate guesthouse immerses visitors in the rhythms of local life with 10 neutral-toned rooms featuring black marble fireplaces, Malawi-style wicker chairs, and terraces with intricate balustrades. A street-facing café is popular on weekends for house-made granola and avocado toast, and the property’s proximity to Kloof Street puts guests within easy walking distance of the area’s best restaurants and shops." - Mary Holland

We had a fantastic stay at this guesthouse in Cape Town. The rooms were clean and cozy, but what truly stood out was the hospitality. Richard and his colleague were incredibly warm, friendly, and attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

NOAH is a 12 out of 10 stay. The rooms and common areas are in themselves a study of hospitable design, melding beauty with practical, home-like touches to create the ideal base for a Cape Town visit. Tamboerskloof is the ideal neighborhood from which to base a Cape Town stay - with simple access to every destination in and around the city. NOAH's team is incredibly helpful and were pivotal in shaping a lovely 4 night stay. NOAH blends the best of boutique hoteling, luxury, and location to provide the clear choice over any rental flats or institutional hotels. So grateful to have found NOAH and look forward to returning soon!

We stayed here for a short trip in Cape Town, swayed by the photos on the website and it didn't disappoint. Beautiful rooms and the design throughout a total vibe. Breakfast was simple and delicious, lovely healthy options throughout. Beds super comfy!! We had a tiny issue with our room that was dealt with immediately and with total professionalism by the owners Sarina and Gerald. Would stay here again in a flash.

A stylish hotel in a central and quiet location. Everything is sensitively tuned. The staff was perfect and very helpful. I recommend visiting the hotel, it is beautiful! The perfect accessory is an old Land Rover. They can also help with organising an experience such as a helicopter flight.

Amazing Stay at Noah House in Cape Town! I had the most wonderful time in Cape Town thanks to Noah House, and that’s saying something! They made me feel at home and safe, even being so far away. From the start, the personal touches stood out – hand-written notes and the owners meeting me like an old friend to chat about my stay and plans. Every morning, fresh food and drinks were waiting for me, which was awesome. The rooms were super clean, well-designed, and the beds were so comfy. It’s clear no expense was spared to ensure guest comfort. Plus, the bar room downstairs is the perfect spot to chill and relax. The owners gave the best suggestions on where to go and what to do, making my trip even better. The location was spot on – close to all the cool spots but not in the middle of the hustle. I felt completely safe throughout my stay. If you’re heading to Cape Town, check out Noah House. It’s a top-notch boutique hotel with a personalized touch, great amenities, and a perfect location. Highly recommend!

We loved staying at the Noah House, beautiful design, great vibe and great location. We signed up for one of tours they offered--visit to the wine country. Blessings, our engaging guide, had a solid knowledge of all the wineries. We wanted to visit smaller, more boutique wineries so we discussed the itinerary with him beforehand and he came up with 3 great choices, one in Franchoek and the other 2 in Stellenbosch. They were breathtakingly beautiful. You can get nibbles or lunch along the way as well. Very happy we did this. It was a bonus that our guide could converse about many subjects about life on the African continent as he has lived in several different place.

What a wonderful place to stay for our first visit to Cape Town! Noah House epitomizes the boutique hotel experience, and our hosts couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Lovely, sophisticated decor, quiet room, a beautiful breakfast terrace, and a handy bar for nightcaps- all in a comfortable and convenient residential neighborhood. Highly recommended!
