This was my first trip to Kyoto, and after a lot of research, I chose Nohga Hotel, and I was very satisfied with my stay.
The bed was extremely spacious, somewhere between a double and a king size, which I really liked, but the pillows were disappointing as they were too soft and sank easily, which was a bit unfortunate. The water pressure in the shower was excellent, and having a water purifier next to the sink was incredibly convenient. I didn’t realize it was there at first and bought bottled water, but even so, it was a great feature.
The breakfast was excellent, and every staff member was genuinely kind and welcoming. In particular, the dining staff were even more friendly than the front desk, which made starting each day feel especially pleasant.
I also absolutely loved the Osaji shampoo provided in the room. It seems to be a local brand that is not easy to find elsewhere. I liked it so much that I bought several bottles at the hotel, and I am extremely happy with the purchase.
I would love to give this hotel 5 stars, but the location was just slightly inconvenient. It was a bit far from the main busy areas, so it wasn’t easy to stop by the hotel to rest and then head back out during the day. That said, it is still a hotel I would definitely recommend and would happily stay at again in the future.
