We went on winter so there's only 4 types of flowers and most of the stores are closed but with less tourist we are able to enjoy and take more photos!

We visited mid November. About half the park was blooming, still enough to capture our hearts.

Do not visit here during early September, there is nothing worth seeing here. All of the indoor activities were closed. The zoo had barely any animals. The heat was unbearable to do any outdoor activities. Barely any flowers were in full bloom. The famous field was barren.

Beautiful fields of flowers and many great photo opportunities to be had here. Many excellent viewpoints around the park as well, especially overlooking the sea. The ticket price is a bit steep at 1500 yen, but the overall experience makes up for it. There is a regular bus service to and fro from the Nkko Island ferry terminal.

It was a great day at the park! Beautiful views and cute animals :) I would probably recommend going during Spring more, as, despite there being some flowers, the actual flower fields weren’t in bloom. So, a visit during late August may not be 100% be worth the price. Still enjoyed my time there a lot!

It was a peaceful and relaxing visit. Bought tickets from vending machine using credit card. Roundtrip for one adult is ¥460. After arriving at the island, we took a bus to the flower park. Bus timings shown in picture at the end. Quite a big place to explore and there are eateries to have tea and lunch. There are playgrounds and swings around for kids and adults as well. Visited on 24 June 2024. Hydrangeas and marigold in bloom.

Totally worth visiting! The ferry ride over was about 560 ¥ round trip. The bus ride was also about 560 ¥ round trip. Access fee is 1500 ¥. It was so beautiful and the flowers are so kawaii. The view of the ocean was nice. There are rabbits and goats on the island. You can pet the goats and feed the rabbits. They’re also super adorable and cute. 100% recommend you visit. :)

Yelp
What an awesome experience, from the ferry ride to the bus ride to the park. It is a must do when in Fukuoka.

Yelp
If you are traveling to the island from most places in Fukuoka, you will need to first get yourself to the Meinohama train station. Then, you need to head to the ferry port (my friend drove us - about 5 minutes from the station). According to my online research you can catch a bus from the train station to the ferry stop. You can also bike, but I wouldn't recommend walking. At the train station, you can buy round trip tickets for the ferry. We had to wait about 20 minutes for the next ferry, and there really isn't anything to do in the ferry station. So you might want to bring a book or music. The ferry is pretty quick and there is an outside deck if it's a nice day out. Hopefully you plan to go on a nice day, because most of the appeal of the island seems to be that it's scenic and naturally pretty. When we got off the ferry we caught a bus (this is where it's helpful to have an IC transit card so you just have to swipe it instead of buying a ticket). The bus was very full and the roads were very winding. None of us were happy about that, but it took us all the way to the top of the island. We got to the entrance gate and found we needed to pay to enter the park area. I can't recall exactly how much it was, but I do remember us complaining about it a little. So it wasn't just a hundred yen or anything. When we arrived the sun was setting. Our friend had been there before and she raced us to a lookout spot so we could watch the sun go down over the water. This sunset was one of the nicest things I have seen in a long time. It was all shades of pink and orange and families were all gathered around peacefully watching as the sun dipped into the water and night fell. I would recommend bringing a picnic, so that you can snack and relax while enjoying the natural setting. We did this, and after we finished our food we decided to take a walk before heading to the last bus back down to the ferry port. During our walk we found a little tea shop and ordered green tea. It came piping hot and in huge bowls. Needless to say, I burnt my tongue on it, but still it was a delicious way to end our time on the island. While walking back to the bus stop, my friends and I enthusiastically decided that Nokonoshima would be a really great place to go in the fall. Especially around Halloween. The beautiful setting and abundance of flowers just seems like a nice place to spend a fall day. At the bus stop there was a huge line. We crammed ourselves onto the bus. Seriously, it was SO crowded. I think they needed to send another one to get the overflow crowd. But you really can't blame everyone for trying to squeeze as much out of the nice spring night as possible. Conclusion: Nokonoshima is a must on a nice day. There seemed to be a lot to do (shops and such) that we didn't get to explore since we went so late. Bring a picnic and plan on spending a lot of time just enjoying the beautiful scenery.
