Nokrek National Park is an absolute gem tucked away in the Garo Hills. If you're looking for something raw and offbeat, this place delivers. The forest is dense, peaceful, and full of life—from rare birds and butterflies to gibbons calling from the trees. The trek into the core area is a bit challenging, but it’s totally worth it.
I didn’t go in expecting big-ticket animal sightings, and that’s the best way to experience it. It's more about soaking in untouched nature and the unique biodiversity of the region. The citrus gene sanctuary is also a cool stop—who knew wild oranges were a thing?
Local guides are helpful and friendly, and the whole vibe is super peaceful. Not touristy at all. Perfect for anyone who wants to disconnect and experience nature in its purest form. Just go prepared—proper shoes, water, and an open mind.
