Excellent location, love the blend of traditional japanese style with the modern. The hiba bath is good fun and a nice experience. The bathroom could have a been cleaner with residual white marks over the surfaces. Well stocked with amenities in the rooms. In addition, the western style beds are not true mattresses and firm beds, which may be desired by some.

Wow what a great hotel in the heart of Kyoto! Room was very clean and spacious.|We loved the bathtub in the room along with the monsoon shower. |The room had a washing machine/ tumble dryer, mini fridge, aswell as lots of lovely amenities! |The only down side was there was no coffee machine in the room. |Other than that we had a wonderful stay.!|Thank you ! :)

I loved this hotel. It was very unassuming on the outside but on the inside it was very lux and quiet. Rooms were very spacious. Had a 2 twin bed room. Don’t recommend for couples who like to lay next to each other. Loved the shower and bathtub set up. Free sake downstairs was a nice perk. Laundry service in room was a game changer.

Located near the famous city market! The room is to die for. Spacious, lots of amenities (even your own pajamas), have a washing machine with a dryer, even had matcha making kit (whisk, bowl, maycha powder).
The lounge also have freww flow snacks, coffee, and sake!! (6 options!!) The best stay I had in Japan

Such an amazing stay at this hotel! I was a solo female traveler, slayed for 6 nights. The rooms are huge and the hotel is very quiet. The location is amazing, you have lots to do around you while still being a peaceful area at night. You’re able to easily get to Gion and other areas of Kyoto. The staff were super friendly and kind. I 100% would stay here again and was sad to leave

Nice, Japanese style hotel in a perfect location to reach the typical tourist attractions. Doesn‘t serve breakfast but has a nice little lounge with free drinks. Quiet neighborhood but many breakfast places and restaurants nearby. Washer/dryer in each of the rooms.

What an amazing find! At first glance, the lobby had us worried as it is quite small. This is a great reminder that AMAZING places and things come in all sizes. Our room was anything but small - incredibly well appointed, and very clean. It was also equipped with a washer and dryer! Our stay was far too short at this location. It is within walking distance to so many businesses (i.e. Flip Up bakery is phenomenal and Nishiki Market with so many great finds). The TUB is crazy. It was so nice to use after a long day of walking. Cannot recommend this place enough. Will def stay here on our next trip to Kyoto.

I did not give it a 5 star because I had issues with my breakfast. The hotel was rather inflexible and told me they needed 3-5 days to arrange breakfast for me. I was staying 3 days. Also the front desk did not desk English. It was difficult to communicate but I want to send kudos to the lady who was at the front desk. Although she did not speak English she Google translated all her convo with me so there was no misunderstanding. I will say the rooms are a good size and I really appreciate the amenities as well as the washing machine and dryer in the room! It was really hot in Kyoto so it helped that I could wash my clothes daily. The location was ok - I was near amenities and I could get to the main shopping areas by walking about 15-30 minutes. A quiet boutique hotel with very good potential.
