Nomad Beach Bar & Restaurant

We rarely go back to the same restaurant. We had such a good time the first time we had to come back for our last lunch in Kenya. This restaurant, on the beach, is beautifully decorated, properly staffed and food is freshly made! All I wanted was a salad with fresh crab, the chef kindly accommodated and it was so good! This is such a great place to be in! Think about booking ahead.

Came to Nomad for lunch whilst staying 10 minutes up the road. I ordered the chicken katsu sandwich and my wife had chicken skewers. The food was amazing, my sandwich came with fries and was a meal. Portions were perfect. The quality of the food was superb and reasonably priced. The location is idyllic. Looking out over the ocean as the tide was on the way in just showed off the 50 different shades of blue there seemed to be. The only reason I knocked a star off was that our waiter wasn’t too bothered about service. Other waiters were cheery and bang on, I just think ours may have been having an ‘off’ day but that’s shouldn’t by any means put you off going. It’s worth it, just for the view! Try to time it so you’re there at low tide or as it’s on the turn because when it’s fully in it’s a bit rough so for those Gram/ TT pics, go when it’s out and the colours are amazing.

The food and service were great. We had the sushi platter for one and the grilled fish platter, all tasting really good. Waiter are fun and attentive, great job! Location is by the sea, so we had a lovely lunch.

The concept is good for guests who want to use the beach and water sport facilities. An adult pays KES 1500 and ChilD KES 500/- . The paid amount is then redeemable against the food and drinks ordered at the restaurant. Restaurant has continental menu, good spread. Quality of food was good. The beef burger is a must try. Everything here is over priced. An Americano single cup will cost KES 600/- Service at kitchen and bar is slow. Our waiter was not the best, he was rude and pushed us to order quickly. Your belongings are safe and a table or bench can be booked per group. Showers, toilet very clean and maintained.

Nomad Beach Bar and Restaurant has a nice setting, but the service was extremely slow and disappointing several times. We ordered a few drinks and it took more than 45 minutes to prepare twice although the restaurant was not busy. The smoothie was more a juice and the lime juice was warm and not good. So we decided not dine at the restaurant but instead order the food directly to our villa at the hotel. This was a big difference - with everything being nice. I would recommend to maintain the same standard of service even if a guest is not staying at the hotel.

We visited Nomad Beach Restaurant today and absolutely loved it. The restaurant is right by the ocean, we could swim and then relax at our table with no problem. The food was delicious we had the mixed grill platter and it was incredibly tasty. All the staff were very friendly, polite, and welcoming. Highly recommended!

One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. It took 30 minutes after being seated to have my order taken, and that was only after asking 3 times. It then took an additional 1h 15min to get my food (Swahili fish), which was a piece of fish so overcooked I couldn’t eat it, barely covered in a decent curry sauce served with a side of plain rice. I would have spoken to someone about it, but no one came to ask how it was. They were clearly well over capacity for their waiters or kitchen to keep up. I guess the location on the beach is nice if you are seated at a table on the sand, but further inside it’s a bit loud and hectic. There are also wandering dogs begging for food.

We had such a wonderful time here! The food was delicious — the pizza especially was amazing. Sitting by the ocean with that beautiful view made everything even better. The staff were so kind and welcoming, which really made the experience special. Can’t wait to come back!
