We had an alright stay here for 2 nights in Merida. The room was nice - we got a private room but it had 3 beds even though we needed 1 double. It had everything you needed. There was also a kitchen in the communal area with fridges and appliances should you want to cook for yourself. The hostel seemed cool as it has events going on most nights and there is a communal WhatsApp group. They also do some tours around cenotes etc. The pool seemed nice but we didn’t go in it. And the location was ok - 10 mins walk to the centre. Mérida is small so it was fine. The airport bus dropped us off 5 mins walk away. The downsides were there was a problem With the AC - it was on a weird timer so kept cutting out during the night. We know the dorm rooms don’t have AC 24/7 but the private rooms should. We told the staff and they said they’d fix it but we aren’t convinced they did as it still wasn’t working. Luckily we managed to do a quick fix for the last night we stayed there. The staff were also strangely unfriendly. They didn’t seem to notice you as you walk in or out (not expecting a conversation but didn’t smile or say ‘hi’ or anything and seemed annoyed when you asked them a question). Strange for a hostel! Especially as they seemed the same age as us and usually our experience with hostels is staff are welcoming and friendly. Maybe it was just our luck or they were having a bad few days……. Wouldn’t stay here again in a hurry but the price was decent.

I would never normally write a bad review for a hostel, but this place needs one. As a solo female traveller they put me in a ground floor room with a window which did not lock and when i went to the front desk for assistance in the night he was incredibly unhelpful, saying there is nothing he can do to provide me with security. This hostel charges a premium rate for an unsecure room, and the staff at the front desk literally couldnt care less. Additionally, they forgot to provide towels in my private room on the first night, and when I checked out, they tried to charge me for a “rented” towel — even though the lack of towels was their mistake to begin with. In the morning, i spoke to a woman at the front desk who did help me in organising a second night in a new room however the manager did not come to speak to me about a potential refund for the night i spent in unsecure and unsafe accommodation. Although the hostel offered me free breakfast and a voucher for another CHE branch, my experience was so negative that I would not stay at a CHE hostel again.

Can't say enough great things about this place. Location is unbeatable, the rooms are great, the staff are lovely, kind and plan really thoughtful events. The amenities are great, and this place is really ideal if you're someone like me who wants to strike a balance between working remotely and having a private spot to work as well as being social when you're off the clock. I would absolutely come back whenever I'm in Merida again!

I really loved my stay at Che! Was supposed to only stay for 2 nights, but ended up staying almost 2 weeks. It's much more chill than other Che hostels (or maybe it's just because of low season) and attracts super friendly travellers, longtermers and staff. A special shout out to Alexis and Emmanuel and Atlas the volunteer. Amazing people who put in a lot of effort for everyone at the hostel, making sure everyone is included, arranging activities and tours. Also... The pool is exactly how huge it looks in the pictures (!!) and the hostel has a coworking room with WiFi. All in all, 10/10. Negatives: * There's really nowhere to hang out when it rains as all of the common areas are outside without a seiling. * They have dynamic pricing, so sometimes it can get quite expensive if you want to extend your stay.

We had such a great time there. The amenities were great, love the colours all around. The pool is huge and at the perfect temperature, but not very clear. The receptionists are very friendly and helpful !! And love the fact that there are activities planned for each day of the week ! Tuesday and Thursday you can learn salsa ! If you are traveling with friends I highly recommend the dormitory that was at such a good price and you can get to meet nice people !

I had a great time at Che Hostal! The atmosphere was fun and welcoming, and the highlight was definitely the bar by the pool. Jorge was super friendly, made great drinks, and kept the energy up all day. Big thanks to him and the whole team — can’t wait to come back!

Staying at this hostel in Mérida was an absolute blast! The place was super clean and well taken care of, which made it easy to feel at home right away. The vibe was amazing — there was always great music playing, perfect for dancing and getting the energy up! The pool was such a bonus, the perfect spot to cool off and chill with new friends. Speaking of friends, the atmosphere here made it so easy to meet awesome people from all over the world. Plus, the yoga classes were fantastic — a great way to start the day feeling refreshed and balanced. I had such a great time and would come back in a heartbeat!

Had a great time! Nice staff, nice location in itself and compared to the city and always something to do. Fair prices, -1 star for the room as I had stains on my pillow and the sheets themselves

Yelp
Awesome hostel!!! Probably one of the best ones I've ever stayed at and I've been to a lot! This place offers Mexican cooking classes for only 25 pesos including the meal! Also free yoga in the morning and free salsa classes! They have a pretty average breakfast but great fruit! Wonderful pool area with hammocks all over the place. Great location as well! Would definitely recommend !
