Such a fun and lively spot! Nomé Izakaya is always packed, and you can really feel the energy as soon as you walk in. It’s definitely on the louder side, but in a good way — full of people chatting, laughing, and just having a good time. We had the bulgogi tacos, oysters, and sliders — everything was solid. The tacos were super flavorful with a nice balance of sweet and savory, the oysters were fresh and clean, and the sliders were simple but really juicy. Perfect place to go with friends if you’re looking for good food and a fun vibe. Just a heads up — it gets busy fast, so definitely try to book ahead!

The sushi was super fresh and delicious — great texture and taste in every bite. Loved the crispy toppings and the oysters were a perfect start. Definitely worth a visit! Fresh & Flavorful!🍣🍱

Food was absolutely delicious, every single thing we tried. Top dishes: galbi short ribs, spicy shrimp roll, bulgogi tacos, japa-burger. Servers were very friendly, fast and efficient. Will definitely be returning to try more menu items!!!

Decent little izakaya place serving a variety of Japanese plates. I went on one of their buck-a-shuck oyster nights (Tuesdays and Wednesdays), so it was quite busy and packed, so a reservation helped. It must be popular, as there is a 2 hour seating limit and there were many people waiting for a table. It was quite tight in the upstairs area, especially by the bar. The oysters that were on special (Malpeques) were a bit disappointing. Provided condiments were plentiful (around 7 options), but the oysters themselves were thin and underwhelming. However, they were $1 each, and ultimately understandable in the 2025 economy. Temper your expectations if that's what you're there for. Personally, I would've been ok with $2 each for better quality oysters. The other dishes we ordered were great though. The ebi-katsu sliders and marinated black cod were quite tasty and well cooked. As good as they were though, everything was quite pricey, and neither of us were particularly full after 2 dozen oysters and 4 dishes (and we're not big eaters either). Service was decent. It's a good place to have a variety of nice dishes, but I struggle with the overall value.

Came here for dinner, restaurant atmosphere was lively and food was enjoyable. We ordered the japa burgers which had a nice teriyaki sauce, and unagi risotto which was probably my favourite dish with several layers of umami flavour between the unagi sauce seaweed and parmesan. I thought the sushi dishes were just ok, we had the double salmon and seared salmon, but I thought the sauce overpowered the sushi and made them taste the same. A good time even if you don't get a drink, but note the dishes are definitely drinking foods and lean towards being a bit salty.

Google
Everything here is excellent. Been coming to this location for years i do recommend this over the don mills, it’s worth the drive! Japa burgers are excellent, rolls are fresh, oysters are $1 for Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s! The bugigi was a bit burnt so id avoid that one. It gets really busy on weekends in the evenings so book this! Good for date night and gatherings of friends in groups 6 or less.

! The oysters were incredibly fresh and flavorful, a perfect start to the meal. The Japa burger was absolutely delicious—juicy, well-seasoned, and packed with umami. The staff was very friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Overall, a fantastic place for a satisfying Japanese meal with great service!

I’ve been to Nome multiple times and this so far has been the worst service we’ve ever had. We ordered this Nagasaki Chanpon and it was disappointing. We asked the server to remove the pork off the food as i don’t eat pork and she said okay. She didn’t inform us that it would take 20 mins to make the food which would’ve been okay if she just told us. We sat waiting for it and I spoke to one of the servers and she said it does take that long, but again no one informed us. We were not looking for compensation as we know it could’ve been a miscommunication on their end which happens. Once we paid, we only tipped a small amount as we felt that the service wasn’t up to par to what we normally get and it was a disappointing experience. The blonde Asian girl who was our original server seemed to be unpleased and had attitude. I will never come to this location again, the server was initially very nice when we shared our concerns but once the smaller tip came, she had a full 180 attitude. We spend a lot of money when we come here as a group and I will never come back for this location again.

Yelp
Jappa burger is decent, but Ryu is better Fried tiger shrimp is a must order Everything else was pretty mid. Overall great place to chill with your friends and have some drinks, but don't have high expectations for food

Yelp
Came here with a group of friends last week and they were very accommodating, especially with splitting bills to make it easier for us. The food was decent too, I really like their calamari. It was a nice atmosphere but the only thing is it is out of my way and finding parking is hard. I'd come back if I was in the area again.

Yelp
Izakaya is the place to go if you're looking to try a little bit of everything - great for sharing ! Nome features a variety of popular Japanese dishes - and drinks! We tried: - Oysters - Ebi Sliders - Dumpling with Truffle Sauce - Takoyaki - Eel Risotto - Nori black sesame Cold Udon - Jade Cocktail We didn't have a reservation at night on a weekend but we were able to go just before the rush and they squeezed us in. Did feel a little rush as we had just under an hour but we still managed to enjoy all the food! Great ambiance, bar vibes, great food!

Yelp
Nomé Izakaya is a local Toronto chain. This venue was is in North York. Parking is a PAIN...so good luck with that! Spots are hard to find and parking is on the more expensive side as well. I parked in a nearby neighborhood and took a bit of a stroll. My buddy used the subway to get here...smart. I meet up with my boy for dinner & drinks and...we ordered soo much food lol. They sat us at a small table for two, and we were struggling with placing dishes on the table. One one of the staff members noticed, came over and helped us combine tables for a more comfortable experience...cheers! The rest of the staff were attentive and friendly as well without being overbearing. Food was very good, nothing to complain about... A list of what we ate: #Izakaya: ~ Oysters - 5/5 (I forgot what kind...) ~ Wara Yaki - 5/5 ~ Crispy Pork Belly - 4/5 ~ Tiger Shrimp (Ebi-Mayo) - 4/5 ~ Gyutan (Grilled Beef Tongue) - 4/5 ~ Spicy Galbi (Grilled Spicy Short Rib) - 4/5 I'll be back when I'm in the area.

Yelp
It was my first time trying izakaya and I loved it! I came here with my cousins who have much more refined palates than I do. We made a reservation for the evening, but got there a little early and the staff were kind enough to seat us at a table upstairs. We started off with the mentai potato which was a delicious appetizer - thick cut potato chips and a savory dipping sauce. I loved the japa burger sliders, as well as the Nome fried chicken. The spicy garlic dipping sauce is amazing! The spicy shrimp rolls are delicious as well. We also enjoyed the monkfish tacos, baked oysters, and fried shrimp and calamari.

Yelp
A good izakaya which has been around for it seems like forever in a landscape of ever changing restaurants in the Yonge and Sheppard area. We were seated in front of the oyster shucking station so we had a some entertainment as we enjoyed our meal. We started with the tako-wasabi, takoyaki, cali-donburi bowl and the ebi katsu sliders (from the feature menu). The appetizers were good but as expected. The ebi sliders were more interesting as it is not a typical item found on a menu, but it really works for Nome. The cali-donburi was the most stomach filling of the dishes as it came in a generous sized bowl and had diced fresh tuna and salmon, avocado, carrots, beets, radish, red cabbage, mango salad, black tobiko, sour cream mayo and unagi sauce all over sushi rice. A good izakaya experience without felling hungry afterwards.

Yelp
I had fond memories of this place as I would have high school reunion dinners here in university w/ my friends. All I remember of those fun times were the amazing japa burgers, buck-a-shuck oysters and decently priced drinks. My gf took me here last night for a bday dinner and it brought back a wave of nostalgia but also buzz and excitement. Would Nomé be just as good as days of old? Happy to report that it's still just as good as I remember! Unagi risotto: The rice was buttery and seasoned perfectly. The unagi was soft and the breadcrumb topping and parmesan cheese added a nice bit of texture in every bite. Japa burgers: Made w/ short rib meat and a sauce that was killer. The bun was also nice and fluffy and the meat was soooo tender. These are a MUST TRY imo (you can order 3 or 4 sliders w/ each order) Gyutan beef tongue: The tongue was cooked and seasoned well. I think it didn't stand out as much as the burgers or tacos per se, but they were definitely cooked better than the tongue I had at Sumoki Yakitori Bar. Baked oysters: These were done w/ breadcrumb and creamed spinach. Very rich and tasty. I personally liked them but my gf said she would've liked the oysters to be less diced and more chunky. Monkfish tacos: I was happy w/ the quality of these fusion tacos. Each taco came w/ 2 big pieces of freshly battered and fried monkfish. The fish was crispy, flaky, moist and TENDER AF. The crema as well as the mayo paired really well with each bite. We were also pleasantly surprised at how filling each one would be lol (you can order 3 or 4 tacos w/ each order). Honey bread: The honey bread seemed like a specialty and unique to this resto compared to the rest of the dessert items, so we ordered it. The bread is fried, topped with a honey cream and berries and also a scoop of ice cream. I think my fave part of the dessert was honestly the ice cream. Holy crap that vanilla ice cream was good. I wonder if they make it in-house or buy it? Anyways, it was a perfect way to end the meal. Service was great. We were checked up on every 5 min by someone and our empty plates got cleared almost instantly. Just a note that if you get high chair seating with no chair backs (like us) , the waitress/waiter can take your coat(s) and hang em in the back behind the curtain so that you don't have to hang them while you dine. I wouldn't hesitate to come back here in the future. It seemed that they still haven't dropped their service and food standards!

Yelp
November 14, 2023 - We treated our friend for his birthday. I've been here before a few years ago, and it was my first time being upstairs. The restaurant is small, but the staff makes it work. It was interesting seeing them squeeze through the seats while holding food and drinks ‍ Everything we ordered was tasty, definitely will go back.

Yelp
I went to Nome Izakaya for a birthday dinner and it was fantastic! The Tiger Shrimp (Ebi-Mayo) was by far the best ebimayo dish I've ever had--the cracker was a perfect addition, and the shrimp were huge and flavorful. The bulgogi tacos were amazing, super filling, and packed with bulgogi. The staff were extremely kind and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations. We had the Honey Bread for dessert, which was highly recommended by our waitress, and it did not miss--it was incredibly good. I really appreciated the sparkler add-on for the birthday boy. Definitely planning to come back!

Yelp
I was so surprised they had $1 oysters. The wear coast had a delicious slight metallic taste which went well with the sauces. The lobster fantasy roll was very flavorful and didn't need anythingl. The black sesame udon a cold dish was so delightful was well. It was very saucy. To be honest, everything was saucy which was good on most but not all things. The donburi was way more saucy then I expected. I think it had its own house sauce e with Kewpie mayo. It was way to heavy for a fish with raw fish. I wanted it to be light and refreshing. The shrimp slider reminds me of a crab cake.

Yelp
Great service from our waiter! We went during their osyter deals - only one type of oysters is actually a dollar each but all the other oysters are a dollar off. They were super fresh and tasty, and our waiter was very knowledgeable about them as well. The vibes were good, good music, and tasty drinks!

Yelp
Surprisingly for a restaurant with such a big menu, they have some really good top picks. Specifically the bulgogi tacos and the ebimayo. Ebimayo: Actually so good. Perfect blend of saltiness, sweetness, umami, and good texture. Outside is nicely fresh crisp while the inside is soft with a really good shrimp feel. The sauce they cover on top coupled with the fried shrimp chip that they serve with it lead to really good texture combination in your mouth, and saves the flavour from being too overpowering. 9.1 Bulgogi tacos: super nice sweet bulgogi flavour and good white sauce that they put on top. Surprisingly good portions for the price. Normally for these trendy izakaya places you expect some horrible portions but they did a good job here. Very yum. Honey bread: too sweet for me but it's really good. Unexpectedly good since the name isn't that appetizing 8.4/10 Ambiance is good, perfect for conversation and not too loud. Servers know their own food and recommended the good things.

Yelp
I haven't found an izakaya that I would fall in love with...until now. A combination of good vibes, good food, and good service is why you should make this your next go-to place for group gatherings. Food - 5/5 I usually have lower expectations when it comes to izakaya food, but Nome really surprised me. I went with a large group, so I had a chance to try the different food items on their menu (and there are a lot of choices). The top items that I personally like are the sliders, the pork belly, and the bulgogi tacos. The sliders were so juicy and perfectly cooked. The pork belly had a good balance of fat that it just melts in your mouth and to die for. The bulgogi tacos had so much flavour, it just works. Atmosphere - 5/5 Great place to grab dinner with friends or colleagues and have a good time. It wasn't crowded in there, nor the music was too loud, so you're able to have a hear from each ends of the table. Service - 5/5 Our waitress was attentive and took care of us despite being a larger group. She checked up on us to see if we needed anything, but it also didn't feel intrusive. There is a 2 hour seating limit, but she allowed us to stay a bit longer for us to wrap up. She certainly helped make this a better experience. Some helpful tips before going: - Their online reservation can only book up to 8 people. If it's last minute and you want to secure a table, I would recommend booking for 8, and then call in to have them change it. - Gratuity is 18% for large groups, but they will let you know in advance, depending on your group size - 2 hour seating limit

Yelp
The second time I visited Nome was already 5 years later... This time, I came to the second-floor patio, which was quite clean and cozy. Spicy Poke - The salmon was fresh, mixed with beans, cucumber, radish, and onion. The sweet sesame dressing really added a nice flavour to it. Baked Oysters - I was upset when it disappeared from Kinka's menu, but was surprised to see it here. Cheese and garlic butter are the perfect combo. The breadcrumbs on top added a nice crunchiness. The oyster's taste was still standout and fresh. Japa Burgers - The staff recommended we order them, and I'm glad we did. The beef patty was pretty big, the tomato slice and lettuce added a touch of freshness. The burger sauce was definitely what made the sliders so tasty. They have a good variety of drinks. The Blue Samurai was tasty, although it looked more green to me, and the pineapple was quite sour. The service was excellent. All three staff members we interacted with were knowledgeable and friendly. Food (quality, creativity, consistency) - 5/5 Drinks (quality, variety) - 4.5/5 Ambience (interior design, cleanliness) - 5/5 Service (courtesy, knowledge, timeliness) - 5/5 Value (quality vs. price) - 4.5/5 ($$$)

Yelp
After sampling two of their salmon rolls, I found them so similar that it's difficult to distinguish between. Both the apple salmon roll ($19.80) and the seared salmon roll ($20.80) are encased in the fish with cucumber, avocado, asparagus, and crab meat salad on the centre. Where the difference lies are a few ingredients: the apple salmon including julienned apple and onion, while the seared salmon features cream cheese, coleslaw, and a host of other condiments. Both were freshly made, stuffed with fillings, and potentially the seared salmon having a slight edge with the plethora of sauces used to add interest. For those who are squeamish about raw fish, Nomé Izakaya's extensive menu offers tons of cooked dishes. Their chicken wings ($14.80 for a lb) were a hit with a shatteringly crispy crust and juicy interior having been wet-brined in soy sauce-based marinade. They were flavourful enough naked, but a hit of the spicy honey garlic made it even better. The Japa-burgers ($17.80 for 3; extra piece for $5.90) are akin to a smashed burger slider with tomato, lettuce, onion, barbeque sauce, and a garlic mayonnaise. Interestingly, they toast the bottom of the bun so it resists getting soggy - I like it crispier so this was perfect for me, but I can see those who like a super soft bun finding this to be a drag. While the sliders were delicious, there wasn't really anything "Japanese" about them. I would have liked a more pronounce sauce (perhaps subbing teriyaki for the barbeque) and more Japanese ingredients (slivers of toasted nori in lieu of the lettuce) to differentiate the burgers. Dive into the mac & cheese ($15.80) upon arrival as it's so gooey and rich when it's hot out of the oven. Diced bell pepper, onion, and bacon are mixed throughout to give it interest (shrimp and scallops are also available, we eliminated these to accommodate an allergy). I didn't expect an izakaya to make such a stellar pasta, but this rivaled many Southern joints. This is a long review for the rest visit Gastro World.

Yelp
It's been awhile since I was last here and Nome has been on my Top 5 Izakaya places including Ju, Kinka, Guu, and AKA-ONI for many years and dinner tonight has kept it on my Top 5 list. I don't tend to pick this place when hanging out with friends as it's always a bit noisy. I don't recall the timing of how the food was served before but I felt timing was a bit off as the food all came a bit too quickly together and by the time I got to the Japa burger, it wasn't hot anymore. We ordered all our favourite dishes which included Unagi Risotto, Burger sliders, and Oden. We also got 1/2 dozen of their special $1.50 East Coast oysters...very fresh! All the mains were as good as I remembered! Overall, we had a great evening and I like to come back on a Tuesday or Wednesday for the $1 oysters night!
google avatar

Luisa T.

Yelp
Nome Izakaya Nomé Izakaya has a convenient location, just opposite the Sheppard Yonge center. They have $1 oyster night every Tuesday and Wednesday, which are the only days I recommend going. Their oysters are fresh, salty, and not so tiny (bigger than most $1 oysters). We ordered two dozen of them and still couldn't get enough! However, their maki is a bit disappointing. Although they look very appetizing, I was a bit confused by their taste. The sauce was a bit too sour, and I couldn't taste the salmon at all. The grilled ribs taste great but were slightly over-marinated and a bit tough. The pork belly was good though--succulent and juicy, with a bit of sweet Korean sauce on top. It did a great job of enhancing the flavors. Nomé Izakaya is worth visiting, but only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I like their vibe, service, and the oyster discount, but it is still a bit pricey.

Yelp
Gotta love this spot esp with their $1 oysters on tues & wed which are so fresh & comes with 6 diff sauces They have a wide selection of unique menu items & I wanted to order the entire menu I loved all the dishes I ended up ordering but my favs were the japaburgers & bulgogi tacos will def be back to try the rest They get super busy so def recommend making a reservation!

Yelp
I came for the #1 oysters and they were good. They have different types but I prefered the big one that was $1 but i'm not sure which one it is was. I think it was Lucky 88 The service was nice and joyful. Updating us if anything happens in regards to the food. The place was really nice and decorative.

Yelp
Good place to go to if you're looking for a simple bar. We ordered the oysters and it was delicious. Service and staff were very friendly and attentive. We also got the sliders and the meats were so juicy. Would definitely come back again!

Yelp
I really enjoyed dinner here. Food was pretty good. We had reservations & I was informed that we only had the table for 2 hours from the reservation time. My Favorite food items were these: Marinated short ribs were flavorful, good cook Tuna coin was crispy and tasty Japa burgers were tasty and flavorful with sauces-- but can be messy to eat Other food also tried: Baked oysters on garlic bread were solid: very creamy and messy Sashimi salad was pretty good. Dressing and sashimi were good but the large tomato chunks seemed out of place, they were overly thick and had no dressing, unlike the rest of the salad which was much more delicate Lobster fantasy roll was fine Drinks Jade Fox, a Mojito-like cocktail, was okay, but wasn't well-balanced. It tasted artificially sweet, probably because of the apple liqueur being too dominant All in all, I had a great time and enjoyed dinner. I'd be happy to try more items from the menu or go back for my favorites.

Yelp
This was my first time experiencing 1$ oysters and I had heard Nome was a great spot for this promotion. My 3 friends and I made a reservation days before and we were seated upstairs. It was very chill vibes, nice bar and TV with GREAT throwback songs playing (not sure if this was the vibe that evening but it was excellent). We ordered a bunch of dishes on the menu to split then got our own orders of oysters. I asked the server what she would recommend for a first time oyster eater and she explained the different options to me. I decided to try 2 of each and actually enjoyed them - its very similar to scallop sashimi. They also included a variety of sauces to pair with the oysters which I loved. My favourite pairing was the house made hot sauce + ponzu + lemon juice. My only issue is some of the oysters still had some sand left in the which was an unpleasant mouth feel. The other foods we got were the japa burgers, jumbo shrimp tempura, black sesame udon, Nome fried chicken, and short ribs. The highlight was definitely the fried shrimps! So jumbo and crispy with yummy mayo flavour. The ribs were also flavourful. The japa burgers and udon were okay, probably wouldnt order again. Our server was also very friendly and our dirty plates were always taken away asap so we didnt have to deal with that. Overall a very pleasant experience and I would definitely come back for the $1 oysters since its an excellent deal!! I would also recommend ordering more than just oysters since theyre very light and not filling so ordering other dishes is best to fill the table.

Yelp
Nome is always a spot for ladies night to just talk, drink and eat. I always make reservations ahead of time, just because it tends to get super busy. It's a nice bar that serves yummy Japanese fusion foods. Servers are always very friendly and always there to check up on you. Must haves: Japa burgers Raw Oysters Spicy Mac and cheese Sashimi salad Honey bread Yogurt soju Over the years they have changed their menu slightly, but the popular ones always remained on the menu.

Yelp
I love love love this restaurant. The vibes are amazing, their upstairs patio is gorgeous. Affordable , tasty, food. The service is also the best part, makes you feel like you walked into an Izakaya in Japan. Great place

Yelp
Excuse me you dropped something. my jaw. I was visiting from California and came here from my friend's recommendation. As far as I'm aware, it is reservation only right now, I saw a few people turned away at the door. It's definitely popping and you're probably better off getting here by walking or dropped off. They do their reservations through yelp so that was super easy! We came here early at 5:30pm because that was one of the few spots left for reservations! We tried around 6 plates of food and it came out to be ~100$. It is tapas style sort of, but I can imagine each plate being filling enough for some people! MUST TRY: Eel risotto. I dream of this stuff. It's basically like an unagidon but the rice is cooked like risotto, it's creamy and yummy and I could eat a bowl of thing myself. Tuna brioche. It's a litttttle salty but overall yummy. I liked the contrast of flavors and part of the appeal is that I never really had something like it before? Apple salmon was HUGE at least for my standards! 3 people shared it and I think we were definitely all full from this! Personally, I wouldn't get the takoyaki or the NFC. There's better food to try. The fried pork belly is okay, my friend really liked it, but I could have passed. Nomé, I hope I see you again!!!

Yelp
I usually don't write reviews, but this one is quite saddening. Let's start with the raw oysters, the size of it is appalling, I don't think pictures even do it justice, the oysters were so small and flat, a more accurate description would be lemons with a side of oysters. The takeout containers for the sauces are also not the most presentable, especially if you're taking a date there. Next we have the wara yaki, this is actually not bad, it's probably the most worthwhile out of all the things we ordered, considering the price point. I have mixed feelings about the japa burger, mine was actually decent, but my fiance's was overcooked. For the baked Oysters, just make sure to read the menu properly. I think many might've expected baked Oysters on a shell, but it's actually on a baguette. Again, the oysters are so small, most of it is just sauce. The sauce is tasty, but you most likely wouldn't be able to have more than one as it feels really filling. Lastly, the service here is fairly slow, it took quite a while to just receive water. In addition, please take a look at my take out container for my japa burger. When I asked for a bigger box, the server told me that it would fit in the box if I removed the stick that held the burger together, but please see how squished my burger is. I don't understand how this can be considered service. For the price point, I find this experience pretty disappointing. There are plenty of other options that have better food and service for a similar price point.

Yelp
This is the best Japanese Restaurant I've ever been to. I been to Japanese restaurants in Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Moncton, London UK, Paris France, Barcelona Spain, Las Vegas, Miami, Seattle, Cambridge, New York, even Buenos Aires in Argentina... This is the best one. Look, Ja Bistro downtown Toronto has the best Nigiri Sushi and Sashimi in town, and the rice is incredibly high tier. But Nome Izakaya definitely rivals. Nome Izakaya has stuff that Ja Bistro doesn't have - for example the Fried Pork Belly is insane, you have to try it. The Takoyaki is perfect. I love that they have Fried Chicken, Sliders, Oysters, Short Ribs The Mac and Cheese is baked with Bacon, Shrimp and Scallops - so amazing! Even the Strawberry cheesecake is house made and tastes really good. Everything at Nome Izakaya is high quality and made fresh. Waitresses are all very friendly and pretty. Easily accessible by the TTC. I've easily spent $2,000 at this restaurant with my friends. I moved away to Moncton in New Brunswick. If I find myself in Toronto again, you know I'm coming back. I'd give this place 10/5 if I could.

Yelp
Still delicious- always enjoy it here. All dishes are good; cocktails always so good as well. Expensive place for sure but the food never disappoints.

Yelp
We came in during the afternoon at open so it wasn't busy at all. The atmosphere is nice, I've been here many times before and always satisfied. Japa burgers are a must have, the baked oysters on bread was delicious. Only thing that was a little underwhelming was the lobster sushi roll. Service overall was good. Nome still deserves a 5 star from me!

Yelp
Gorgeous food, beautifully server, quiet ambience!! I had the oysters with a variety of sauces it was such fun!!! Fabulous food, the sashimi was perfect too!!

Friendly W.

Yelp
Tiger shrimp were good! Well flavoured and chip added a nice crunch. Japa burgers were overcooked and a bit laborous to finish.

Yelp
It have been a while since I last visited Nome Izakaya and I am super craving for oysters tonight. Therefore, I give this Japanese bar another try. I ordered the Lucky 88 oysters for the first round. It is super tiny but very creamy / fresh. I ordered the Malpeque oysters for the second round. It is also super tiny but very sweet. The Unagi Risotto is tasty but the risotto is over cooked in both Italian or Japanese standards. My favorite of all is the MoTito, which is so refreshing. Overall, this place have a great vibe to hang out with friends or a dates. I minus one star due to the super tiny portion for its' price, especially the Unagi Risotto.

Yelp
Knockout food, great vibe, and decent prices! I've been here twice now, and I will be coming back many many many more times. It's that good. Buck a shuck oyster specials are fantastic. You have your pick of east or west coast. I prefer the east coast. They're smaller and smoother. The west coast are fantastic as well, with a larger deeper cup, and a brinier flavour. We ordered both last night, and the west coast oysters will fill you up (you've been warned). The oysters are served with a variety of sauces, though I think only a few of them pair well. We also ordered the tiger shrimp. You must order this 11/10 dish. It's a deep fried shrimp topped with savoury, tangy sauces and served with (shrimp?) chips. In the words of my friend: "this is one of the best things I've ever eaten". The bulgogi tacos are also a must order. Also an 11/10 dish. You get 3 tacos, filled with bulgogi, savoury tangy sauce, red onion, jalapeño, and it all comes together beautifully with every bite. The Japa burgers are delicious as well. Also come in threes. They have a crispy tempura onion hidden inside. It's a wonderful surprise when you find it. The sushi is great too. I've had the spicy shrimp and lobster rolls, and prefer the lobster. I don't even like lobster, but the roll offers a combination of flavours that brings out the lobster's best qualities. One of Yonge and Sheppards top restaurants and a must visit!

Yelp
I've always wanted to come here cus there's sooo many good reviews. Food is just ALRIGHT. Honestly, nothing outstanding so I'm a lil disappointed. It's not bad, it's just not a "WOWWWW". Service was amazing here - the waitresses are all very friendly and quick. Our water was refilled pretty often.

Yelp
Nice Izakaya at Yonge/Sheppard. Fun experience and good food. Pictured are the dynamite rolls, unagi risotto and the infamous japa burgers. The unagi risotto is savoury and cheesy, while the japa burgers are beefy, savoury and sweet. Not pictured but the karage was great as well! Both the sangria and the jade fox drink were a bit watered down, hence a hard pass now with inflation lol. The ambiance at Nome is always great, however, with portions being smaller, drinks watered down, I am questioning if Nome is worth it.

Yelp
Surpurb consistentcy. Service, drinks, quality of food has been spectacular the last 8 years ive been coming here. It does get crowded after 7pm and some days they do not take reservations so come earlier or have a friend get a spot. Atmosphere is modern rustic but no matter where you sit its a food looking view. Theres more than one location, this place on younge is a younger crowd "35 and under typically" another popular location worth visiting is the Don Mills shopping area "35+" Both locations have the same menu and good service. Whichever one you visit, you will not be disappointed. Try the japa burgers here and the oyster specials on tuesday and wednesdays! Bring your date, they will def like it.

Yelp
The food was good but the service is so slow. We constantly chasing the waiter to order our beer. The music was little bit too loud also.

Yelp
Enjoy the $1 Oyster (only for Tuesday and Wednesday) Both the east coast and west coast oyster are freshly served! The sashimi is also up to standard! The other food are just fair. Highly recommended for oysters!

Yelp
Chair has safety hazard. I hurt my fingers badly while moving the bar seat because a board on the seat lifted up. The manager came but did not apologize, instead, he was very defensive and said has never seen this happened before. He also did not offer any help like an ice pack or even a bandaid. This is utterly unprofessional and irritating.

Yelp
This restaurant is well-known for their $1 oysters every Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On Sundays, they offer $1 OFF every premium oysters (not to be confused with $1 oysters on the Tues/Weds). Other than their specials, there is nothing in particular to highlight and their menu contains traditional food items you would find in an Izakaya.

Yelp
Came here for the first time a couple of weeks ago. All the food we got was delicious and now I know why reservations are always filling up! We got a number of items on the menu, and despite the small portions, we were pretty full. (See pictures of all the items we got)

Yelp
The have a great oysters special but also always order the japa burgers and Ebi shrimp!! I would definitely recommend stopping here for tapas and oysters! You normally need a reservation so make sure you plan ahead!

Yelp
Nome is my favourite restaurant in GTA. There I've said it. Through the tough times of being a student, to being a boomer now I've enjoyed nearly every dish at Nome for years now. We come from the BUCK A SHUCKS on Monday/Tuesday but we stay for the Japa burgers, Unagi Risotto, Blue Samurai cocktails. My mom doesn't eat burgers but she requests the Japa burgers. That quality beef, fresh vegetables and this garlic/kewpie Japanese Mayo hits you like no other. If Nome made a stand-alone burger spot, it would likely top Cabanos and Rudys.

Yelp
Delicious food. Get the japa burgers and baked oysters. Soju cocktail was sweet and refreshing. Didn't taste like there was any alcohol in it but we definitely could feel it afterwards! Would love to come back for $1 oysters!!

Yelp
Food tasted pretty good. We enjoyed the seared salmon roll the most. However menu prices are on the higher end. Service was good and ambience was also nice. They have $1 oysters on Tuesdays and Wednesdays!

Yelp
What got me really impressed being here was the food presentation. Every dish was plated extremely well, and all look very appetizing. The service we got was also commendable. There was usually someone willing and ready to assist us. Something this Japanese place also has going for it was that they have oysters available -- both from the West Coast and East Coast. My group was able to sample enough variety from their menu. We ordered Bulgogi Tacos, Marinated Short Rib, Apple Salmon, and another specialty roll. They all came out looking and tasting great. The only downside I see was that the food items tend to be priced on the more premium side. The serving portions are small and it is easy for the bill to climb up if you are coming here to eat and not dine.

Yelp
Had a quick dinner with friends at this spot. Sushi was overpriced however it did not disappoint. There is a 2hr seating limit during the weekends. Staff was very pleasant and friendly. Drinks was ok!

Yelp
Always love this place. Haven't dined in at the place for a while. But I get take-out very often and I only generally order the short ribs. And wow...their ribs are so good, defo recommend. Yesterday however, I felt that some pieces had too much fat in them, none the less still one of my favourite spots for ribs!
