I was in Toronto for a week with my girlfriend, visiting from the US, and of course, hearing so much about poutine, we wanted to try it. Call me a tourist but poutine was all that was on my mind in terms of Canadian cuisine. We of course tried out many different cuisines during our time there, as Canada offers a large array of culinary dishes from around the world. We went to several of the top-rated restaurants, a lot of which cost quite a bit. However, of all of the places we've been to, this stuck out to us the most. We tried poutine at St. Lawrence Market and that was abhorrent and nearly turned us off from poutine as a dish.
Nom Nom Nom is essentially a food cart, where the poutine is served very swiftly. I was surprised at how quickly the food came out after ordering it. When we got it, there was a lot of food and given the price point, it was well worth the cost. I normally eat a lot, but even when sharing one with my girlfriend on an empty stomach, we were both full after finishing it. Sure, every bite felt like a heart attack waiting to happen from the sheer volume of cholesterol we were consuming, but it all felt worth it. This was the last dish we ate before leaving Toronto and it was a great last impression. We had originally made a reservation at a nice Italian restaurant for lunch but canceled it since this filled us up, and we don't regret canceling it since we were able to try this place out.
Despite there being no designated area to eat the food, sitting on the sidewalk and eating poutine was a vibe. Would come here again if I were to visit Toronto once more in the future.
