Nonfiction is one of my favorite spots to catch up with friends over a glass (or two) of really good wine. The snacks are always thoughtful and delicious, the music is chill, and the whole place feels like something out of a magazine—cozy, stylish, and relaxed. The wine selection is curated with so much care, and every bottle has a story. It’s a small space, but that just makes it feel more intimate. Bonus: you can grab bottles to go, and the patio in the warmer months is the perfect hang.

This beautiful wine shop is Bay View is just as dreamy as it looks. The staff was so kind and welcoming. We sampled one wine shortly after walking in the door, and immediately committed to a full glass. It was delicious. Also ordered the cheese plate and it was an excellent pairing. Good seating options inside and outside. Great spot to enjoy a glass of wine and grab a bottle (or 2) to go!

The ambiance was beautiful and so unique. The wine selection was impressive. I gave a 3 star because of the interaction with one of the waiters; he was rude to us and curt which kind of ruined the whole experience. We asked for a different server and the other people who helped us were so kind and amazing so that helped Definitely a cool spot though.

Google
We found it based on the location on the map, but they could use a sign out front. Inside it's small and intimate. Very small bar that seats about 6 people. There are tables as well, but not a space for parties of more than 4. The atmosphere was very chic, clean, and simple. There were 8 wines to purchase by the glass, and a good size bottle selection to choose from with a $10 corkage fee. We tried a glass each of the red selections - Syrah from Sonoma and a Spanish red. While the wines were good, they were nothing special. We tried the focaccia, which was delicious. Highly recommend this "snack" from the menu. The service was fantastic. We purchased a few bottles to take home and try. Happy to see a selection of wine that is unique and not readily available in grocery stores.

Just popped in. You can sit wherever. There's a bar as well as additional seating. Appears you order from the mirror on the wall (to your right when you immediately enter). You can buy by the glass or a bottle. They charge a corking fee. They also have some snacks. Its decorated well and the seating options were nice.

Was just coming here for a glass of wine or two but was so fortunate that the person next to me at the bar was talking up the whipped goat cheese and focaccia. It ended up being one of the top single few things had the entire trip in Milwaukee. It was not strong goat pungent just creamy, and was loaded with fresh jalapenos with only a mild spice but tons of jalapeno flavor taking over the cheese, was so soft whipped and the focaccia was perfect thru and thru. All the wine had was excellent as well. I'd be here every week if lived here

Google
My god, their new space is so cute. The old spot was cute, but this new one has the same charm in a spot where you can sit down, put back a nice glass of wine and a snack, and then leave with a few Natural Bottles of vino. Sitting here, (right now as I type this) I don’t feel like I’m in Milwaukee, I really don’t feel like I’m in Bay View either. But I do feel at home. (I live just down the block, so that’s got to be a good sign)… Honestly, I feel like I’m in Oakland. Close to the wines original home, close to the big city, but not TOO close to either. It’s bright in here, tall ceilings, it’s classy, it’s clean, and it’s very white. Well done. Good playlist also. Shoot, I just Shazam’d a song and missed it. Now I’m pissed. The next song was good to so I Shazam’d it for good measure. Ok, most songs they’re playing are shazamable. When you eat oysters, do you go smallest to biggest or biggest to smallest? Me, I always save the big boy for the end. I want an oyster big enough to chew. I’m trying to savor this 1/2 dozen. It’s not cheap, reasonably priced, but you gotta pace yourself. This is going to be my new solo hang when my wife is out of town. Just me and my phone taking pictures of oysters and wine like the good lord intended. Lord Jobs obviously.

Google
A customized & pleasant experience with the most intimate & beautiful storefront. Brad was incredibly kind in his education process of everything wine: natural wine, wine processing, and decanters. I was looking for orange wine, & they had a large selection. I walked out feeling I’d stubbled upon a treasure.

Yelp
Last night was my first visit and I am swooning! This place has such a great vibe - it has style and class, but it's not pretentious. My cousin and I were looking to enjoy some wine and light snacks so we ordered the cheese plate which had three different cheeses, olives, grapes, and bread. We added a side of prosciutto which was nice to pair with the cheeses and bread. Since we were in snack mode, we also opted for the focaccia with a ricotta spread. Everything was yummy. I tried Lambrusco for the first time and now I am obsessed. It's a refreshing red or as one of the servers said, "it's like an adult Cherry cola!" Overall, Nonfiction gets a thumbs up from me. It's the perfect place to hang out with a friend, enjoy some wine and apps, and catch up on life. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Truly a great wine shop. Every time we have stopped in here, we immediately feel important. Any one who we have interacted with has had great wine recommendations. The employees are extremely knowledgeable about their selection and don't hesitate to share their information. I appreiciate them always asking a price range for what you're looking to spend and adjust what they reccomend accordingly. Take a bottle home, or stay there and enjoy a glass- you can't go wrong either way.

Yelp
Nonfiction Natural Wines has become my favorite spot for summery appetizers and trendy, high-quality wines. The melon and prosciutto is a must-try--it's beautifully plated over ice and super refreshing. The caviar is another standout, with the perfect blend of citrusy and salty flavors. The cheese plate is delicious too, offering a great variety of cheeses and my favorite: OLIVES. The service is consistently excellent, with staff who are knowledgeable and passionate about their menu and wines. I usually go for the Elektrisch Riesling, which never disappoints. The decor feels like a perfect mix of Midwestern charm, European elegance, and coastal vibes, making it ideal for a slightly dressy girls' night out. You really can't go wrong with Nonfiction Natural Wines. This is THE summer spot.

Yelp
This is the wine shop of my dreams. I adore everything--the carefully curated wine selection, the lantern light fixtures, the abundance of plants, the inviting bar area. Stopped by to pick up a bottle of orange wine while in Bay View. The wine selection here is modest but thoughtfully curated. I've never shopped at a wine store that carries only natural wines, which I found intriguing (imagine wine but make it organic and non-GMO). They have a good mixture of Old and New World wines at multiple price points that should satisfy most wine shoppers. Wine is also sold by the glass here, and there is plenty of seating for one to lounge with a glass of wine in hand while catching up with a friend. It looks like they also have a snack menu! The owner was super friendly. We chatted about how he sourced his wine and came to partner with various importers, which I found fascinating as someone who's an amateur wine enthusiast. So glad I stumbled upon this adorable wine shop in Bay View. I'll be back!

Yelp
My brother introduced me to this place. I have passed by it since the inside is very appealing with all the light fixtures and many bottles of wine. Finally gave it a shot and customer service was amazing. Talk about such friendly people and helpful in recommending things. We decided to try their most fruity forward bottle of wine and it became one of my favorites. The menu is a selection of tapas and small bites. The cheeseboard was okay I feel that since it's a wine shop the cheeseboard could have been one of their top plates with maybe more variety of crackers and fruits and more aesthetically appealing. The caviar dip was good nothing that blew me away with the combo of flavors. I definitely see such huge potential with this place as it has a patio and it's very beautiful. It's also dog friendly ! I look forward to keeping up with their journey and see how they develop.

Yelp
This place is super charming! I would highly recommend stopping in for a glass of wine and a shareable. Their wine offerings rotate and their food is seasonal and delicious. I do wish they had more offerings that are not wine based so my friends all enjoyed coming here, but I also understand that it is a wine bar. My one other recommendation is that their spreads are served in smaller portions or they serve it alongside more bread. The focaccia is out of this world amazing & I cannot recommend it enough but it isn't enough bread for the spread and the owner let us know that they will typically not sell you any extra to go with it. Increase the price and increase the bread portion- I would pay for that in a heartbeat! Whoever makes that has an absolutely incredible talent & I wish it wasn't gate kept with only six slices being made per day. Overall great place that I would go to again & I recommend you stop by there!

Yelp
Highlights 1. Friendly Staff 2. Great Patio 3. Fun Wines At last!! I am so happy that the new NonFiction space is open. This is such a welcome addition to KK! The vibe of NonFiction is trendy, modern and bright. You can tell a ton of thought went into the space. There is also a patio on the side with cute cafe tables and string lights. Staff is friendly and you can tell they are excited about their roles and the wines they are selling. You can do wine by the glass or also pick any bottle in the shop to enjoy ($10 corking fee). These are natural wines so definitely a little earthy/funky but so fun to try! I had the dry white and the rose this time and both were great! They have a selection of snacks that you can order. We did the cheese plate which was perfect to share amongst the 3 of us. I'm so happy this spot is open and can't wait to be back!

Yelp
Adorable! Visiting from out of state and noticed this on the map. Not only is it a wine shop, it's a wine bar! Beautifully curated menu with a list of small plates. Enjoyed the melon prosciutto dish paired with glasses of orange wine. Very kind staff. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This is such a cute place. You can either order from their tap list or buy one of their bottles to drink their or take it to go. The staff is there to help guide you on a selection. The place is aesthetically pleasing. They have a few tables to enjoy wine and snacks. We had the 2 of the orange wines, 2 sparkling, a cheese plate + ham and mushroom, pumpkin toast. I loved the cheese plate. The wines are very interesting. Nothing like what I've ever had before. The orange wine reminded me of a orange beer in a sense. They both had a little zing to them. I would like to try others.

Yelp
New favorite spot I absolutely loved the vibe, options for food (seasonal menu!!) and of course...the wine selection. So many amazing options- how do I choose?! The friendly staff recommended their favorites and even let us try what we wanted prior to buying a glass. If you like what you drank- there are plenty of bottles to bring one home! I personally loved the orange natural wine selection. The one I got was a perfect floral and juicy option, so unique and tasty. The goat cheese ball was a light and tasty appetizer to pair with the wine! I will definitely be back.

Yelp
I recently stopped in at their new location during the Bayview gallery night. I am so impressed with this space! We needed this! They already had an incredible selection of wines when it was just the shop. But now - this space is an absolute dream. It is gorgeous! We have really been needing something like this in MKE. Great outdoor space. Big bar for ordering. Can't wait to come back on a normal night and see what it's like

Yelp
Super cute store and am so happy for its addition to our neighborhood! The shop itself is so inviting and welcoming; it's located just off KK near Rushmore Records. My husband and I stopped in in preparation of quarantining. I'm a Malbec lover and the gentleman working (who was also the owner) was able to give me so many options of kinds I may like and described them all so eloquently. Especially now during Covid-19 we need to support these small businesses and it's clearly a great time to be drinking wine at home! Get some take-our from Honeypie or another location Bay View restaurant and then pick up a bottle of wine or two from Nonfiction Wines; you won't regret it!

Josie V.

Yelp
Service was excellent and the outdoor patio was clean and welcoming! They have some delicious small plates to snack on, but nothing intended to be a meal.

Yelp
Lovely selection of wines at a nice range of prices. Beautiful store! Makes you want to browse forever.

Yelp
Such a charming spot!! I absolutely cannot wait to go back when I have more time to browse their large selection of wines. This is a gem of Bay View!!

Yelp
Been spending most of my quarantine time supporting our local breweries and drinking beer but tonight felt like a red wine night. I wandered over to my neighborhood wine shop, fingers crossed it was open. My fave lit up when I saw the glowing lights in the store front and an open door. Mask on, I meandered through the store to see what I want. I chose a Cabernet Sauvignon. A big plus, at least for me, contactless pay is an option and the guy working was also wearing a mask. Cheers to thinking of others! Happy to support this small business.

Yelp
This shop is such a delightful addition to Bayview! While small, the space itself is gorgeous. It has a big, beautiful front window that illuminates the whole store, that features clean white walls and mid-century style furniture. It feels like your grandparents living room, record player and all...if your grandparents were young in 2020. The store is run by very knowledgeable staff who are happy to provide guidance and suggestions. The store offers a variety of natural wines (which I didn't even know was a thing) from all over the world. I selected an organic French Malbec, which was a crowd pleaser at the wine club I was attending. I will definitely be returning for my future wine needs. I encourage everyone to support this great new Bayview business.

Yelp
This is a great shop! They have a great selection of different types of wine from all over the world. All the wine is natural and the person at the desk, maybe owner, was super friendly. Can't wait to go back and pick up some more to try.

Yelp
Great shop, really intriguing selection, and a very different kind of wine buying experience. Can't wait to try the wine and then head back to talk about it!

Robin L.

Yelp
What a lovely spot! Had a great first experience while making a visit from Chicago. My friends and I received great insight and suggestions - we all enjoyed the wines purchased! Definitely will be returning if we ever pass through Milwaukee.

Jessica S.

Yelp
Beautiful storefront, a well-curated selection of unique wines, and great service. I cannot recommend Nonfiction enough! Do yourself a favor and add some natural wines from them to your wine rack.

Jeffrey A.

Yelp
Great selection of some of my favorite producers and things we can't find in the Bay Area. I was very pleased with the pricing as well. This is indeed an awesome addition to Milwaukee!
