On the Grid : Nook Restaurant

"When you want something done right, you do it yourself; that’s essentially the story of how this rustic, family-style, Southern Italian restaurant was started. Since 2009 Nook has been a staple in the casual dining scene in Vancouver, and a go-to spot for delicious pizza, pasta, cocktails, and wine. I like sitting at the bar and checking out the rest of the room; I also like (no wait—love) the Salami Pizza, the Burrata and Prosciutto plate, and an Aperol Spritz to wash it all down." - Amer Alkhatib

We ordered three pizzas and they were all amazing, but the spicy one was absolutely outstanding I loved it so much. It came with extra parmesan and chili oil, both really good quality. The service was quick and friendly, and the place was clean with a nice view. Honestly, no complaints at all. We really enjoyed it and I’d definitely go back.

If you are looking for a "something for everyone" menu then this may not be your jam. The menu here is small and focused. Mostly pizza and pasta but made in house with high quality authentic ingredients. Great concept, don't try to be everything to everyone, do less but do it right. I had the $27 Rigatoni Boscatiola. Good flavors and textures. I did notice as it arrived that the bowl was cold which unfortunately resulted in cool pasta by the time I was half way through. Simple mistake, easy fix. My son had the anchovy pizza which was decent but we both agreed that the pasta was a better choice. Personally I am not a fan of seafood on pizza and the anchovies were quite fishy. Service was top notch and professional, it was easy to tell the 2 people that touched our table were industry veterans. They were welcoming, efficient, helpful and knowledgeable. Great views of the Quay and the inlet, casual upscale feel. I would definitely try this place again to sample some of the other menu items.

Nook Shipyards is spectacular. Great patio and service. The peach prosciutto burrata pizza special is a top 3 pizza I’ve ever had in my life. Need to make this a permanent option.

I had a date night with my 4 year old daughter and we had the best experience. The host, our server Jade and everyone who stopped to drop something off were all friendly and hospitable. Food was awesome and we look forward to coming back :)

Food for one plus drink and tip: $70ish Positive: Great service, location and open interior. Fantastic for families. Meatballs made from scratch, juicy and delicious... Lots of drink option and beers. Do have lunch special and happy hours. Food for thought:.try their anchovies pasta and pizza. Not overpowering salty.

Stopped in for Happy Hour, beautiful patio, lots of trees for shade, excellent service, food and music! Had the Margarita Pizza and a few glasses of bubbles. Staff amazing! Have several locations, will definitely be back 🥂

I recently visited this Italian restaurant and tried their meatballs. The flavor of the food wasn’t very rich, but it wasn’t bad either—just average. I really liked the outdoor seating area; it was pleasant and comfortable. However, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy, the service could have been better and felt a bit slow. Overall, it was an okay experience, but nothing outstanding.

Food is good. Service isn't. I ordered oven roasted meatballs first, then pizza. They brought out the pizza first and meatballs after. The waitress, obviously embarrassed, did not acknowledge the mistake and pretended like nothing happened.
