This hotel was recently used for a large international financial services conference. However, it fell far below standards expected and provided in similar hotels elsewhere in the world. ||Check-in took forever, and the first room allocated to me was on the ground floor, with diners of the terrace restaurant positioned on my patio! Having to close my curtains for privacy and quiet, I demanded another room. ||The new room was in a quieter part of the hotel and quite pleasant, clean and comfortable. However, the TV didn't work, nor could the temperature on the aircon be changed. There was absolutely no response to any attempt to contact reception or room service by phone - even the emergency number was never answered!||Room service was abysmal, with the hotel forgetting my original order, and me having to wait an hour and a half for my dinner. ||Whilst breakfast was enjoyable, the rest of the hotel's food was average, at best. ||African hotels need to wake up if they are going to compete internationally for business.
