UPDATE April 2019: Recently returned and was happy to find Noon open. A couple of weeks back it was closed at lunch. They did not answer the phone a day or two later. I thought they folded.
There was less on the menu than before. I chose The Burger, a strange choice in this place. It was quickly placed in the Top Three burgers of all time.
Deliberate. That's the word. This thing was constructed and assembled with purpose. Purpose being flavor and texture. The pattie at first appeared hyper shaped and cylindrical (like a frozen pattie) but it was the best part. As it should be right? Cooked just beyond rare, perfectly pink, not raw, and beefy tasting. Then the flavor road -first the cheese. Not sure what kind, but dairy umph and tang. Then the crunch of greens including sliced fennel for a garden blast. The jalapeños added some heat at the right time. A sauce seasoned just right. And the sesame bun pulled it together just before gulping down the bite. Yum. "It was like the chef put it together like this on purpose. Deliberate."
No squeezing out of sauce or toppings. No overly wide TMJ inducing height. Beef forward overall. Go try it.
And re: the reduced menu... As a fan of Kitchen Nightmares I take this of a sign of tight kitchen and restaurant management. They know what sells and what tastes good. Might be a communication issue to let customers know they are (or maybe are not) rotating the menu items regularly.
Go back and try it again. Enjoy a walk in the always sunny neighborhood.
