Based on my recent six-night stay, Noordin Mews is a charming heritage hotel that perfectly blends historic character with thoughtful comfort. It served as an ideal and memorable base for exploring Penang.
Our room was spacious for two, featuring a very comfortable bed with excellent pillows and a cozy lounge area by the TV. The stylish, well-appointed bathroom was a definite plus. A minor suggestion would be for a few more clothing hangers, as we found ourselves getting creative with the furniture.
The service was a highlight throughout. Check-in was seamless—I had pre-checked in online, so we went straight to our room upon arrival. The front desk team took genuine time to introduce Georgetown and Penang, offering incredibly useful tips on where to go and eat. The staff were always so kind and friendly, and the daily turn-down service was a welcome treat after long days of walking.
Breakfast was a delightful experience with a daily-changing selection of Asian dishes. I particularly enjoyed the Teochew porridge and the incredibly flavourful dal with prata. The prata with egg was beautifully presented, though as a personal preference, I'd love to see it prepared for fluffiness and crispiness (cooked from frozen on a dry pan with no oil – just a suggestion!). The dining and adjacent lounge area, stocked with books on Penang architecture, became a favourite spot to relax and immerse ourselves in the city's culture.
The hotel’s location near Komtar was incredibly convenient, allowing us to explore every alley of Georgetown on foot. While we regrettably forgot our swimsuits, the pool area looked inviting and cozy. Thoughtful touches elevated the entire stay—from daily small surprises in the room to the refreshing L'Occitane bath amenities.
Noordin Mews provided a deeply comfortable and culturally rich experience. We left feeling we still had more of Penang to discover, and I would not hesitate to return here on our next visit.
