Nordie Café

This cafe is in such a relaxing area. Has a lovely atmosphere. Whether you choose to sit inside or outside you can’t go wrong. food presentation is phenomenal. Food was bursting with flavour. The absolute best sweet potato chips you’ll ever eat. Also the smash avo is by far the best. Definitely this place is a hidden gem.

Although this place had a nice vibe, we were a little disappointed with the service and the food. We asked for water and the girl said there wasn’t any, but we clearly saw other tables have water jugs of water. We also weren’t given our drinks we ordered until we went back and asked. The schnitzel focaccia was dry and unexciting and the meat balls were also dry and unseasoned. They also closed the kitchen one hour before their close time which seems unusually early to us and the cherry on top was hearing a waitress call the previous customers sitting at the table next to us “interesting characters” to the next customers. Seemed very unprofessional. We wish we could give a higher rating but we just didn’t have the best experience here unfortunately 😔

Haven’t been here in over a year and hoped things got better. Unfortunately it’s even worse. It wasn’t busy at all and I stood there waiting to be acknowledged by staff to be able to grab a table. We were completely ignored. Lucky though because it prompted me to look at their menu and wow I remember their outrageous prices. I guess ripping off customers to make up for the lack of business they’re getting. Back to Laneway cafe I go where they never disappoint. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. * Response to owner Would be great to sit down on my own but I prefer not to sit on dirty tables with plates and cups used by the last customers. Both yourself and your staff obviously need to do better. Unless of course you value mediocrity. If that’s the case keep doing what you’re doing.

This would absolutely be my local if I lived nearby. The food is delicious, good coffee, the music and atmosphere is so lovely and laid back even when they have a line of people ordering coffee. I had the smoked salmon board and it was flawless, though I'd love a second piece of bread but that's my only critique! Lots of seating. But the reason that I'd make this my local is purely for the absolutely awesome people who work here. Super friendly to a first time visitor but the fact that specifically the lady slinging coffees at the entrance knew almost every person's name who walked in was impressive! She seemed to genuinely care about the customers and I am here for that. Well done Nordie, I'll definitely be back!

Poor experience, cold coffee, warm milkshake, congealed tasteless lukewarm “scrambled” eggs on sourdough cardboard - 60 bucks lighter and off to find a decent breakfast elsewhere

Amazing cafe, breakfast was delish, salmon on toast with boiled egg and roe, and the chilli scramble were both amazing. The sweets and coffee were also tops. Service was quick and attentive. Vibe of the cafe is great, chilled out, great seating inside and outside. Dog friendly too.

Great outdoor seating, nice ambience n good food

Great little cafe near Red Hill. Nice vibes inside with a constant stream of locals and tourists coming through. We came as a group of 7 and the long tables catered for us well. I ordered the prawn chilli scrambled eggs which was of good quality, fluffy eggs and nicely cooked prawns. Our one gripe with the food was that whilst everything was nice the serving sizes across the board could definitely be a bigger, particularly with the menu prices. Coffee was very good although I ordered a small orange juice and it was tiny, again portion size could be improved for the prices they're charging. Overall though a nice experience and would have no hesitation coming back.
