I placed an order for same day pickup around 11:40 a.m. yesterday. By 5 p.m., I still hadn’t received any update, so I called the store to check on it. I was told my order hadn’t arrived and that I could maybe pick it up the next day. That was frustrating. if I select same day pickup, I don’t expect to be told it’ll be ready tomorrow.
When I voiced my concern, I was placed on hold while the associate “checked on it” but I was left on hold for over 15 minutes with no one returning to the line. I finally hung up and called back. The next representative said she would check on it and call me back. Thankfully, she did and the order was ready.
I live over an hour away (1 hour and 20 minutes) but made the drive because it was a birthday gift I needed that day. When I arrived at the counter, four women were standing around talking and didn’t acknowledge me at all. No greeting, no help, just carried on a personal conversation. When one woman finally came over, she grabbed my order from the shelf, placed it in front of her, and continued chatting before eventually handing it to me.
I left feeling completely disrespected not only by the poor communication and unprofessionalism, but by the overall lack of basic courtesy. I am a Black woman, and while I don’t bring race into everything, it’s hard to ignore when the entire group ignoring me was white, and I was treated so indifferently.
I will never shop at this location again. I don’t shop at Nordstrom often, and this experience made it very clear why. Customers deserve better.
