Nordstrom Rack

Always shop at a Nordstrom Rack when I can find one. This Store in Des Moines did not disappoint. Many beautiful items to be found. Somewhat lacking in choices, many of the racks were made empty, hoping they are just transporting clothing to make room for new items. Thank you for being so welcoming.

Popped into Nordstrom Rack to see what they had. I do often find these big stores in America quite overwhelming, but walking through on this day I managed to see signs of different brands. I feel like it was less chaotic than the last time I went in. The shoes are at least put out in sizes so I got to try on and figure out what size I am here. There are also mirrors at the end of the isles to see what things look like on.

Nordstrom Rack has new items DAILY! It's like a Treasure Hunt, you never know what you will find, but they have something for everybody! And now with the Nordstrom Card you can save 5% on every purchase, every time you shop!! (And $40 off your next purchase when approved) That's $5 off every $100 you spend, and when you can't find items like they have anywhere in Des Moines, that's a no brainer! Shop at The Rack and save Dollars, it just makes sense!

Found some great deals. Store was very clean ,a lot of good options.

I've had plenty of fine and excellent experiences every time *I* have gone to Nordstrom Rack by myself, with my wife or parents. But this is the second time my mom has felt extremely uncomfortable shopping here when she's been by herself and that's been due to the same man staring at her and watching her as she shops. It's infuriating to have your mother call you about this type of experience when all she wanted to do was get out of the house. She called the store with details when she was back home but the response she got was way more tepid than what I expected. Why the hell would any of us ever go back to this place, let alone the shopping area? That fact that this has happened again twice when she's been by herself doesn't make it seem like a comfortable place to shop.

Always a great stop while in West Des Moines. Great selections, great deals, and friendly (and helpful) staff. Plus, you never know what you may find!

Edited: No longer happy with this location. They treat customers from the perspective that they are thieves upon entry. The hassle you have to go through at the changing rooms is unacceptable. If stealing is such a problem at this store, they need to consider closing. I will not leave my purse or any other personal item on a shelf outside the dressing room! Seems rather ironic that due to theft they want you to leave your stuff unattended for anyone to walk away with.... This is the only Nordstrom Rack where I've encountered this issue. Very frustrating. Found some great clothing & shoes. But was most impressed by our cashier... Jacob P was polite, helpful and knowledgeable.

I sadly have to say that NordromRack use to be my to go to store as it use to be exciting to go and find good deals, but I have to say something has changed in the store strategy as Deals are hard to find if any at all. The Clearance section has definitely been reduced and pushed in the back of store for men’s along with the shoe selection has been greatly reduced especially the clearance sections. Again it was my to go to store, but within the last year things have changed and I don’t go as frequently as I use to and when I do go I normally walk out empty handed.

Dress shopping with mom!! Everyone's favorite activity! I was very happy with the amount of dresses to chose from. Quantity is important when two people have very different tastes. More important than quantity is the prices for a quality item. I ended up getting 3 summer dresses for less than $60. This makes my heart sing! Mom found 2 dresses as well so a long day turned into a short trip and we had plenty of time for a day drink!

They are keeping Iowa hours meaning they are closing at 7pm now. Only Iowa people are able to make it to stores during these hours.

Well Nordstroms is not my spirit animal either. Most of the handbags are tethered to the racks. I checked one bag out. $249 in other stores $149 at Nordstorms, still not in my price range. Handbag selection was not real big. The shoe selection was pretty good sized. However, until I win the lottery, this is still not the place for me. I'll need to win the lottery or a really good sugar daddy. So pretty sure I'm screwed. I'll be heading to Gordman's tomorrow, where I know I can afford most of their stuff and I can stay on a budget. I didn't encounter in staff in my quick stop through here. Store was in good shape. They have a lot of clothing as well as shoes and bags.

Was disappointed by the lack of designer items. This place is basically like an upscale Ross. I was unimpressed and didn't buy anything. Wanted to splurge on designer accessories but could find none.

Places like this are weird to me, so let me get this right the concept is cheaper clothes that are out of style or over runs that didn't sell other places! Or they get left over name brand stuff! People seem to get excited about these stores but they all kinda seem the same to me! Mind you I bet I could do some gift shopping here, for my mom! Which is always a struggle, mind you I might want to leave that original tag on so she thinks I spent 98 dollars on this blouse instead of the 24 bucks I spent! Then again maybe they just put those expensive prices on the stuff to mess with you! Well I think I could be fooled that way and other could too! Either way the stuff is decent quality and the store in shiny and clean!

This place has an amazing selection for men, women (regular, petite, plus), kids clothes and shoes. The brands are quality and the have accessories and other extras. It is easy to shop here and it is clean. The down side to this place is that they have just one place to check out and it is just not enough. You do have to wait it a very long line to check out. I found myself purchasing two more items waiting in the line as they line the area with add one... yep, I am a sucker for the add one.

Oh Nordstrom Rack how I love thee. I have shopped religiously at Nordstrom Rack for over 10+ years, beginning in Scottsdale, AZ in the early 2000s. Having recently moved to eastern Iowa, I was devastated to find only one Nordy Rack in the state - however I gladly made the 2 hour drive. For those who are not familiar with shopping the Rack here are some tips: 1) Have a general idea of what you are looking for. Looking for a fancy dress? Need new flats? Some tank tops? Keep it general - you may be disappointed if you are too specific. 2) Know your brands. This is not Target or Forever 21 or JCPenny. Having knowledge of the higher dollar brands, or brands you love but would never pay retail for comes in handy as you shop. Regardless if you are a brand snob, knowledge is power and gives you a good idea of quality. 3) Head for the clearance rack. I don't think I have ever bought "retail" Rack prices. The best time to buy is the first day of the "Clear the Rack" sale, which is usually 25% off the clearance prices. I was just at this location and bought 3 cashmere sweaters for less than $20 each. This goes for shoes and accessories. Frye boots for less than $100 and Steven by Steve Madden boots for $30. Why pay $50 from Payless when you can buy quality leather for less! 4) Be Patient and visit often. I wish I could do this! You never know what you might find if you stop in on a random Tuesday. I would also say, if you are a crazed shopper, find out when they get shipments or do their markdowns. 5) SHOES! - all and every, if you come to the Rack for any reason, come for the shoes. The deals are awesome and you can leave with high quality, beautiful shoes for the same price you would pay lesser quality or cheap knock-offs at Kohls or Yonkers. 6) This location has a small accessory section, BOO! Again, shop clearance for jewelry items - they typically have some great deals. The mens section is always small at the Rack, but you can find good deals on shoes, coats, jackets, dress shirts etc. I can't wait to go back, even if it is two hours way.

I had heard a lot about Nordstrom rack before visiting, and my expectations were high! I enjoyed the store, but I wasn't blown away. I like getting good prices and found the following for a pretty good deal: -DKNY -Marc Jacobs -Michael Kors -Dooney & Bourk -Ralph Lauren -Coach -BCBG The accessories area is small, but it has a good selection. Nice shoes - and organized! Overall it's a good deal for some quality merchandise.

Stopped by Nordstrom Rack on my day off, since I needed a new jacket due to this cold weather. The place reminded me of a TJ Maxx, since there are random brands and clothing available. The place is big, clean and not too crowded, so it was easy to walk around and look at stuff. They also have some home décor items too, like throw pillows and blankets. I found a black jacket by Michael Kors for $99 (retailed at $350, so I had to buy it right?!). The jacket is what I was looking for, since it isn't too dressy but still exudes style. The jacket was well priced along with other items that I looked at, so stop by here if you're looking to improve or upgrade your wardrobe. It's also nice to shop here since you don't know what you'll find...though this could be bad too if you start buying random stuff!
