Noritake Garden

Very nice garden grounds. We thought it would be a short visit to this garden but ended up spending the whole day there. Grounds are beautiful. We went to the museum and learnt the rich history of the Noritake brand of ceramics and learned how big they grew into other industries. Didn’t know Toto is from them and the different businesses spun out. It’s worth a visit to the museum and to the craft centre. The shop has a great selection of items and cafe looks good but we didn’t have a chance to eat there. There is an Aeon mall next door on the grounds. The original chimney structures are still present. A nice and pleasant day out.

My only familiarity with Noritake was my mother's china set in her fancy glass cabinet when I was a child. I was sternly told never to touch it, which of course, meant I took teacups out of the cabinet and flipped them over to see the Noritake logo. Luckily, my curiosity didn't cause breakage to any of the pieces. Truth be told, I didn't have a burning desire to come here. However, youthful YouTube vloggers convinced me a visit here might be worthwhile. My husband and I entered the grounds from the north side where a large lawn dominated the space which featured a fragmented brick wall mounted with celebratory plates. We were looking for an actual garden but realized they were talking about the landscaping, which we thought was well maintained but really at the level of a business park. We skipped the Craft Center since we're not the handicraft type, but we did appreciate the Noritake Museum which gave us a sense of the ceramics history that led to their leading reputation. The highlight turned out to be the store where a vast array of Noritake china was on meticulous display for purchase. The diversity and intricacies of the designs were quite impressive, and yes, I didn't break any flip over the plates to see the Noritake logo.

Only a fifteen-minute walk from Nagoya Station lies Noritake Garden, a quaint fusion of nature, craftsmanship, and history. The location, which was once the grounds of the Noritake ceramics plant, has a museum highlighting the company's rich porcelain history, a tranquil park, and wonderfully maintained red-brick buildings. In addition to taking part in ceramic painting classes and viewing exhibits of vintage Noritake pieces, visitors may watch craftspeople at work. Although it might get crowded on weekends and holidays, the garden provides a tranquil haven in the middle of the city. For both locals and visitors, Noritake Garden offers a fun and peaceful excursion with its blend of cultural events and peaceful green areas.

A must visit place when you are nagoya. You can buy good deals here. They have a bargain area but mostly made in sri lanka and not made in japan. We are able to buy Ghibli editions of plates and cups made in Japan in the regular section.

It’s a decent place to walk around and chill for a bit. There are a lot of people doing photo shoots here, but I struggle to understand the appeal. It’s just a business park after all. The landscaping is quite bare. The ceramics are nice, but too expensive.

When I visited Noritake Garden in Nagoya, it felt like a little escape from the city buzz. The place is such a cool mix of history, art, and nature. The museum was a real highlight for me—it’s packed with gorgeous Noritake porcelain pieces that showcase incredible craftsmanship. It’s amazing to see how their designs have evolved over the years. The garden itself was so peaceful. I loved walking along the paths, surrounded by greenery and the sound of the fountain. It’s the kind of spot where you can take a deep breath and just relax. Close to Nagoya Station, it’s the perfect place for a mix of culture and calm. Highly recommend!
