"Literary Heaven at Norlis Antikvariat Oslo might not seem like a big and bustling city, but even so, it can be nice to "get away" from all the modern noise that surrounds us on a daily basis. Norlis Antikvariat (Norli's Used Book Store) was founded by Olaf Norli in 1890 and though it has changed locations slightly since then, it has retained its air of quiet and calm. Great literature, hidden treasures, rare, out of print books, they're all there for the taking! Just make sure to leave plenty of time for your visit - you never know what you might discover."

I love book antiques. They have a great selection of books and the people who works there knows what they are doing. The place smells of old books and when you walk in, you are surrounded by the history of everything and the knowledge from all the people who came before us.

It's the kind of antiquarian where you hit in and in good ten second find some masterpiece. After fulfilling trip to Sri Lanka where we bought a book from Walpol Rahula about buddhism in Kandy buddhist bookstore, we randomly found this shop in Oslo, hit in, and the very first book we found here was History of buddhism in Ceylon from 50's. Lovely, I thought, went upstairs and there was very thick great collection of Allen Ginsberg poems. You just go there and find yourself another treasures 💜

Yelp
I spent some time here as part of a mid-morning walk through the neighborhood that formally contained the National Museum across the street. This 2 story shop is covered with books, maps, and other literature, from top to bottom, whether they be shelved, stacked, or otherwise underfoot. I could have spent hours here wading through and getting lost is this beautiful mess of a used and antique book store. There's even a largely preserved office upstairs, making it feel that some eccentric fellow abandoned everything in place. I left with a cool South Norway map and some clear regrets of what what I definitely missed beyond the next page.
