Great seafood, lots of choices, I have combination seafoods, and have also options for grilled or whatever you wanted included the 2 slice of bread. the Fettuccine Alfredo great and the Steam clam. Just to make sure if the server ask you what do you like salad, bread or clam chowder. make sure that is free. Or better to ask. Great service Thank you Ms. Joanne C for always asking how we are doing and politely asking multiple times.

I heard the seafood was really good in Seaside. I ended up going to Norma’s for lunch. Everyone was very friendly and the service was quick. It was pouring down raining that day. So it was a nice place to relax, enjoy some fresh seafood, and take a break. I got the fish (salmon) & chips and it was delicious.

Google
All 5 stars 🌟, I had there Calamari & clam chowder which tasted delicious, no fish smell or taste on thae chowder. We also order Chicken Alfredo, Spaghetti, Chicken Strips, and a plane cheese burger. No complaints very friendly staff.

Google
We love this place. We actually found on a family beach trip a couple years ago and loved it, this was a our 2nd time here and it was just as good as the first time. The food is so fresh and delicious, the seafood is amazing, the clam chowder is so yummy. Service is fantastic, food comes out quickly. We wanted a salad to share and the kitchen really hooked it up with fresh veggies. Absolutely amazing!

Google
Everyone who worked there was really nice, and the ambience was welcoming and homey, but overall the food just wasn't great in my opinion. The portion sizes are large, and the chowder is good. We got the fish n chips combo with tuna, salmon, halibut, and cod. The fish was okay, but there was waaaay too much breading (we were not given the option to get it lightly breaded). We also got the captain's platter, grilled, but all the meat was soggy and tasted like it had been sauteed instead.

Google
Let's just cover some bases... Clam Chowder: Great Consistency and Clam Size but a little underseasoned. I assume that's for the mostly 65+ crowd. Dungeoness Crab Legs: I ordered cuz they said they were local, but judging by taste they were definitely frozen. Disappointing. Cottage Cheese: It was cottage cheese. All that said, I didn't sample any of the other dishes my party was having but everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. I will probably be back for the Chowder.

Google
Norma’s Seafood and Steak restaurant at Seaside, Oregon was an exceptional dining establishment to visit with my family. The menu featured an array of delectable seafood and steak dinner options, supplemented by diverse non-seafood alternatives. The restaurant transparently displayed market prices for all available seafood selections. Our waitress demonstrated remarkable attentiveness, even amidst a crowded and bustling atmosphere during our visit. The portion sizes were reasonably generous. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Google
The chowder is the best and is consistent every time I eat here. Razor clams were tough, but after that everything was solid win. Lobster was the very best I have ever had, and the white sauce is a perfect balance of white wine and cream so all fettuccine is recommended strongly. Surprised by the awesome flavor of salmon fish and chips! You can't go wrong at Norma's

Yelp
This place is pretty darn good. My wife and I stopped by here Saturday evening on vacation in Seaside. It is located just off the main drag. Clean. Polite staff and food served quickly. Fair prices. They have a really good local IPA which was awesome.

Betty C.

Yelp
Mymymy...so last time was meh...this time worse. Ordered salad with no shrimp...even asked if it was pre-made as I'm allergic. Out comes salad w shrimp in a cup. Shrimp is hanging out onto the lettuce. Server says Oops and takes the cup off the plate. Wow. Look over the contamination. Then my BLUE RARE steak comes out medium. She walks away comes back to take JUST THE STEAK...because I like my main course in parts. Picture is of the lonely potato....waiting on the rest of the meal. Bread comes with the meal. Hubby have me his. I got none. New steak comes out...midrare. not blue rare.

Cheryl B.

Yelp
Hands down the best clam chowder in Oregon. Move over Mo's. There's a new sheriff in town.

Veronica G.

Yelp
Great dorms and service! Had their seafood fettuccine and clam chowder! You will definitely not be disappointed. Portions are big and enough for anyone with a hearty appetite. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I am in Seaside for a convention and decided to eat at Norma's Seafood & Steak. I was amused at the copper covered tabletops and noticed all the water rings. It amused me to examine all the water rings and made me wonder how old was the tabletop? Any way, I looked over the menu and decided on calamari strips for an appetizer and trying the cod fish and chips. I was given the choice of beer battered or lightly breaded. Since I was looking for a light meal, I decided to go with the lightly breaded half order (four pieces of cod). The calamari was excellent. Perfectly cooked and very fresh. The menu included the option to have the tentacles and suckers, but I went with the strips because the tentacles freak me out!! I was pleasantly surprised that the cod was perfect. It was in fact, lightly breaded but the breading never tried to separate from the cod. It was also nice and tasty. The fries were plentiful and almost perfectly cooked. About a third of them were slightly undercooked, but still good enough to eat. My disappointment was the coleslaw. First it was diced to oblivion. It almost looked like it was placed in a blender and puréed. Then there was the flavor. It had a decidedly unpleasant onion flavor. My guess is there was a copious amount of onion in their coleslaw. The staff was friendly, professional, and very attentive without hovering. I really appreciated their service.

Alyssa W.

Yelp
Stopped by here on our way to Lincoln city. We had the sourdough chowder bread bowl. The chowder was ok. Not my favorite but also not terrible. 6/10 Calamari fritte. Was fantastic. Would totally order again. Nice mix and the breading wasn't too much. 10/10 Tartar sauce. Some of the best I've ever had. 10/10. Add a little cholula and it was even better (at our servers recco) All in all it was a very good meal and I'd come back here again. Our waitress Joanne was a fantastic server! She was very personal me and made some good recommendations. 12/10

Yelp
We were given a gift card for this tasty place. We decided to give the fish and chips ago. Wife had the mixed bear batter tuna, salmon, halibut and cod. I had the salmon with light batter. The salmon with light batter is hands down the best offer for Norma. The service is decent one didn't speak English but kept or water glasses full and bused.

Chris H.

Yelp
In today's service challenged world, our server Matt was excellent! So nice to see someone that was attentive to not only our table, but every table in his charge. Awesome! Food came to the table hot and was delicious. I had halibut fish & chips, the wife had pan fried oysters. My fish was delicious, light, flaky and flavorful. The wife raved about the oysters, can't give my opinion as I don't care for oysters. We started our meal with their award winning clam chowder. I know now why it is an award winner. OMG, soooo good! The set up is so that there is room to move in the restaurant. So many beach places try to cram as many tables as they can stuff into a room. This place can accommodate just two or up to what looked like a table of 10. With the room in the restaurant, I'm sure they can accommodate even larger parties. Norma's is a must try when in Seaside.

Roxanne R.

Yelp
We come to Seaside quite often and Norma's is always a must! Everything on the menu is good but our usual is oysters and the petrale sole. The service is always great and the place is small but we never seem to have to wait for a table!

Arun S.

Yelp
Loved Norma during our visit to seaside. Chowder was amazing. For Captain's plate we chose Cajun spice in butter garlic sauce. It came with a medley of seafood varieties. Loved it. Combination appetizer with fried fish was a let down. It was quite bland even with sauce on the side. Do try this place. Service is good as well

Phil K.

Yelp
Stop here at least once per vacation in Seaside. The food is always great and the service as well

Laura N.

Yelp
Food was amazing! The service was great! We loved the whole experience of Dinning at Normas!

Amanda G.

Yelp
I wish there was an option to tag "Rude Owner". Our server was wonderful, nice, attentive. Unfortunately when my husband ate a rotten oyster and requested the rest of the oysters sent back, the owner of the restaurant came to our table to argue with him, questioned if we have ever eaten oysters before, accused us of lying about a foul dead oyster. It was the most uncomfortable dining experience I have ever had. We all lost our appetite after the aggressive encounter. Then the when we went to pay our bill he had left part of the oysters on the check, including the rotten one. Will never eat here again and after being treated like that I would discourage anyone from eating here.

Ellen K.

Yelp
Great food and service on a busy Mother's Day evening. Friend had one of the specials: Shrimp & Scallops (sautéed) with baked potato and salad (she really liked the seasoned vinegar & lemon dressing). I had the Captain's Platter (sautéed), baked potato & chowder. Both were very good! Only downsides are the table tops are copper which gives off a metallic smell (for anyone sensitive to that), it was VERY noisy, and our table was extremely wobbly.

Debbie G.

Yelp
Service was quick and sellections were hard to decide. Chowder was excellent. We had a combo fish n chips, lightly breaded. Another person had the combo including calamari strips sauteed, which were fabulous. It was pouring down rain on a Saturday night and we were seated immediately. If we return I would ask for all the fish to be sauteed instead on breaded. Tartar sauce was excellent. Would definitely return.

Tracee C.

Yelp
The waitress was very nice. The food is plated like it's from the 50s. That would have been fine if it was not all overcooked and way overpriced for the portions. The major downside was all of the four of us having instant stomach issues within 15 minutes of leaving the restaurant. I've never been so disappointed in food in my life and we apparently get to pay for it all night long. Stay away.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
*Intoxicated and disrespectful server* I came in with my husband earlier today and frankly the food was great. However our server, a blonde woman (I don't recall her name), was extremely rude and short with us. From passive aggressive comments, to "I don't want to be here" attitude we were appalled that Norma's we have been coming to for years would employ someone like this. It hurts to say we won't be coming back.

Michael M.

Yelp
Always good, clam chowder is really good. made a special trip just to have lunch at the beach.

Rebecca C.

Yelp
It's true, Norma's is a Seaside icon. I read all the reviews that seem to tout their fabulous food and service. I beg to differ. Last night we visited Norma's for dinner. Chowder was FABULOUS! My friend and I ordered the same thing, halibut sautéed in butter (I've never seen that much butter soaking an average size piece of halibut) with accoutrements. My friend took one bite of her fish and found a hair. No, we didn't place it there. It just happened to arrive with the fish. We called the waiter over, explained the issue and he looked at the hair, examined it and said they would fix her a new piece. "We don't have any light haired cooks". Great! When the second piece arrived, my friend asked calmly if they would comp her meal because of the hair. His response was that he brought her a second piece "and you ate it, didn't you". This isn't normal at Norma's. Typically the service is exceptional. Not this time. There was a total disregard for the customer. Probably won't eat here again. Sadly.

Kambria G.

Yelp
Food was pretty good and service was fast. Prices were on par. I was a little disappointed with my steak as it was probably 50% fat. I wanted to try the Alaska king crab legs but the price was a lot more than expected. The restaurant itself is super cute and a great location.

Andrew L.

Yelp
We drove to the coast craving fresh seafood and so our usual spot is now closed we found Normas and let me say we we're definitely not disappointed we were promptly seated and drinks served our waitress very nice friendly and attentive we ordered the sampler platter for an appetizer it had fresh salmon , cod , scallops shrimp clams calamari and toast all delicious and grilled to perfection and then came the main dish which was fettuccine Alfredo with crab and a side of clam chowder they were very delicious hot fresh and the price very reasonable I have just found my new spot in Seaside I hope this has helped you and you have a great time yourself thanks for reading and happy dining

Vadim F.

Yelp
Prices increased, Portions & Quality decreased. My favorite restaurant at seaside will no longer will receive my service. Sad day.

caren q.

Yelp
Service was a bit slow getting started but overall very friendly. The real problem here is the food. Chowder is ok but nothing amazing, and half our party got sick after eating here. They used sub par oysters for the fried oysters, and the clams were also potentially a bit old leading to GI upset. Portions are good, and the restaurant itself is clean and very cozy.

Mandi L.

Yelp
So don't go to Norma's Seafood & Steak, we found a random broken toothpick in our Rice Pilaf last night. Worst part is, is when we went in to get our $3.60 refund, the manager refused the refund and blatantly blamed us for planting said toothpick and laughed in our faces. Even showed pictures for proof that were timestamped. Why would we plant a toothpick for $3.60. Absolute worst customer experience and rudeness from a restaraunt I've ever experienced. Not worth going to the ER for and their clam chowder is watered down. If management could please message me so we could talk further about this, I'd like to report this incident and investigate. All we wanted was our refund and did not ask for anything else. When we asked to speak to the owner, the manager said the owner doesn't want to be bothered.

Donna A.

Yelp
Great service, food and ambiance. Sergio was our server two nights in a row and remembered our drink orders from the day before. Great food both days.

Mindi J.

Yelp
Our server was very kind and helpful Food is normal prices for a seafood restaurant but rather small portions. It also seems pretty crazy to pay extra for regular fries. Food was good. Paying at the end, the hostess seemed annoyed, which did not help the experience. Again, our waitress was amazing! Cup of chowder or bowl is probably your best bet.

David M.

Yelp
Norma's had been a stop for my family for decades. We love the chowder. We seem to be there always around lunch time so the fish and chips, halibut and chips, and tuna melt are always welcome after the drive to get to Seaside. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It has always been clean.

Marty V.

Yelp
I had the Captains Platter - Amazing! The seafood was lightly breaded, not greasy. All the seafood tasted very fresh! Salmon, Cod, Scallops, Calamari, and Oysters. My wife had the Smoked Salmon Salad. It was HUGE! She said it was really good! Our server, Faythe, was very nice and our food came out super fast even though the place was packed! I'd recommend this place to anyone! Sorry, I forgot to take a photo of my dinner. I was hungry!

Felix C.

Yelp
I normally give every establishment I go to a very fair chance but this one started off wrong at the start. My son is autistic and only eats a limited amount of things. So when the fam goes out to eat we get him something he like first then we go where we want to eat. We always ask if he can take his food in and most say yes, well Norma's said no. My son finished his food in the car and then we went in only because my daughter wanted to try the Alfredo. I had a steak and I wouldn't order it again. My daughter got the fettuccine Alfredo and she said it was ok. My wife got the clam chowder and she liked that. The server was good I'll give him his dues. On to another restaurant.

Heidi S.

Yelp
The clam chowder was great! The fish and chips were great. Kids plain pasta was served with way too much butter. Kids meatballs were served cold. The $34 steamer clams!!! Omg awful. They were old and had a bitter after taste. They looked like they were overcooked and completely unappetizing. The cherry on top is that I had to pay for them and the "manager" couldn't have cared less that it was inedible. I tried but couldn't even eat 1/4 of the 2lbs I was served. I will never give Norma's a chance again. Keep treating your customers with no respect and you'll keep losing customers.

Natasha K.

Yelp
Our hotel recommended we check out Norma's and we were so glad that we did! We were set out to get clam chowder for nearly every meal while we were on the coast and Norma's had the bread bowl we were looking for and offered clam chowder WITHOUT bacon (such a rarity these days). We ordered the clam chowder, oyster shooters and the smoked salmon salad. Clam chowder was good but not the best we had on the coast. This chowder is good if you want a thick chowder but I think I've become more partial to the thinner chowders. The oyster shooters were okay too but the cocktail sauce to oyster ratio is way off! You can see it in my photo, way too much cocktail sauce throws the experience so we ended up dumping out half of the cocktail sauce. Lastly the smoked salmon salad. Holy smokes Batman! Was this salad HUGE or what!! The salad is very fairly priced for the portion you got. The two of us ate it for 2 separate meals! It was practically a platter of salad. The smoked salmon was delicious and tasted very fresh. I highly recommend it! A great experience overall but I think the smoked salmon salad is what did it for me personally.

Brenda B.

Yelp
The food at Norma's is amazing and big portions. The servers are always friendly and kind. This is our favorite place to eat in Seaside !

Cj C.

Yelp
Clam strips are 10/10 no questions asked, get cocktail and tar tar sauce. My mother got the bread, salad, and chowder lunch special and was very unhappy with her meal as it was very boring. The service was also 10/10. I had an incredible experience my mother not so much.

Sandy B.

Yelp
Luv this place, we come every year. They have a captains plate that can be grilled, fried, cajun or sauted. Grilled is our favorite! They put bay shrimp on the salad and the clam chowder is the best in seaside. The service was very good and the food came out fast, we were very well taken care of. The restaurant is decorated in a nautical theme, very nice for casual dining.

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
In the greater scheme of assigning a number of stars to a restaurant, I would give Norma's 4 stars...but in the context of restaurants on the Oregon coast and the large number of diners who don't have any idea what a 5 stars really means, I will assign 5 stars. The ambience is a little loud because it's a local restaurant with a large number of local diners. This is not and is not meant to be a romantic, date night restaurant. That being said, the venue is clean and well maintained. The service was prompt and extremely courteous. The waiter was well informed and cognizant of the highlights of the cuisine. We loved him and he was very attentive to our additional requests. The clam chowder was superb. We have sampled clam chowder throughout the northwest and Norma's is equal or superior to everything we've tried. My wife had the deep fried shrimp for dinner and was very satisfied. Eight large prawns, beautifully prepared and maintaining a delicate texture. The highlight of our experience was the seafood fettucine. I hope you're hungry because you will receive a GENEROUS serving of salmon, halibut, scallops, shrimp and clams, all assembled in delicate linguine swimming in an unctuous, freshly made alfredo sauce. Truly an all star preparation which will take me back to this restaurant frequently. One caveat: Norma's. has a full bar but the liquor selection is limited. If you ask for a very dry martini (no vermouth) the drink will, nevertheless, have vermouth in the glass. That was a minor inconvenience. Wonderful dining experience

Adam M.

Yelp
I used to come here as a teenager years ago and remember it being amazing. I went for dinner and it was okay. Everything was under-seasoned. I had to add salt to everything. I had the fish and chips combo, which is 4 different kinds of fish. The batter was nice and crispy, but the fish lacked any flavor, making me wonder if it was frozen. The 'chips' were fries and they were nice but nothing crazy. I also had a bowl of chowder, which suffered the same lack of salt. Service was great and even though they were busy they were able to seat me with a problem. I recommend going but be ready to salt your food.

Max H.

Yelp
This place was able to sit us down extremely fast! The Diet Coke were on point! The food was just ok. The batter in the fish came right off and they didn't give you enough tartar sauce the first time. The clam chowder was good, but not to die for.

Brandon B.

Yelp
Great service and tasty food. We ordered the Grilled chicken salad, clam chowder, and the crab cakes. The salad and the crab cakes were fantastic, and the chowder was okay. Overall great place would highly recommend.

Brandon A.

Yelp
Food was delicious... service excellent... great place the clam chowder the best... fettuccine alfredo on point .

K. P.

Yelp
The steamers were really well done. The crab sandwich was also good. I think our server was Karla? She had dark hair & really positive vibes/good work ethic.

Gina T.

Yelp
Whenever I visit Seaside, I always come here for the fish and chips-- usually salmon is my go to. The halibut is delicious too! The batter is crispy (we get beer battered) and the fish is so tender. It is a little pricey and the 5 pieces can be too much for one person and it doesn't taste that good the next day. The clam chowder is rich; however, it's always been a hit or miss with the flavor. Sometimes I think it's the best clam chowder I ever had but other times it tastes kind of bland so the quality isn't consistent.

Ciarra L.

Yelp
We were staying over weekend at Seaside & we tried a few places. Norma's was one place. Outside their diner they have an article about how they were reviewed by decent well known articles/ magazines etc. We had a party of 4 adults & 1 child. They were very accommodating. Only side note is if you have a Service Dog- emotional support is not a dog they service to. We had to leave ours in the car- of course window rolled down. Menu is big. Lots to choose from. I had a BLT. It was pretty good. I love their wheat bread. It was great. Toppings were good. Mayo to bread ratio was good. Side of fries. My kiddo got Mac & Cheese. If they're picky about that it's Kraft. The rest of the party got some seafood dishes which they said were great. Server was quick and polite. Wait time was manageable. Overall busyness wasn't super busy.

Lauren M.

Yelp
We had called ahead for our large party of 10, and although they couldn't reserve a table for us, they did hold their largest table until we got there which was incredibly nice. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Our server was patient with our large group ranging in age from 2 to 73, with every dietary need under the sun. The ambiance is very traditional "seafood house" style, but lots of light wood and natural light. The food was fabulous and the portions were big, but not so big that we had a ton of leftovers. My husband got his fill of seafood with an oyster shooter and the salmon pasta. The server warned him ahead of time that it is very salty, which I was very thoughtful of her. I got a pretty good veggie burger, added avocado, and a gluten free bun- yum. The coleslaw here was one of my favorites- a little sweet, not super mayonnaisey, with a lot of liquid- just how I like it. The clam chowder in a bread bowl was a favorite and according to my nephew was "good all around" The food for the little kids came out quickly too, which if you are a parent, you understand how important that is. There was even a steak and baked potato for my dad who doesn't eat seafood- he was happy

Holly A.

Yelp
Seaside did not disappoint with this gem. The restaurant was inviting, friendly and clean. They do have a huge menu so you won't have a problem finding something that would satisfy your hunger pains. Our server was attentive and explained the menu perfectly. The crab cakes, Steaks and Crab itself was prepared perfectly.

Kaylin C.

Yelp
Every time I come to Seaside I HAVE to get norma's! I absolutely love their halibut filet. Cajun is my favorite way to have it prepared! The crab cakes are also amazing and I love their aioli!! This last time I went I had the cajun scallops with a side of rice pilaf! It was nothing short of smazing! My server Andy was acceptional. She never let my diet coke go empty, she was always there with a refill or more tartar! This will continue to be my go to spot!

M S.

Yelp
Returned to Norma's since we loved the food esp the clam chowder during our vacay last year. Treated myself to pricey shelled Dungeness crab dinner. It was perfectly steamed and delicious. However, we were disappointed that they no longer serve fresh bread with our meals even though the menu states that they do. We had a very good server this visit.

Clarisa N Kevin K.

Yelp
Women, don't bring your boyfriend or husband here. The staff here are extremely inconsiderate. The waitress did not once ask me if I wanted anything, stood next to my husband the entire time while taking our orders, and serving our food. When she came to see how we liked our dinner, she sat next to my husband and acted so inappropriately. He wanted to get management involved, but I just wanted to eat and get out of there. Very pricey place too.

Alex S.

Yelp
I gotta say we've been coming to Cannon Beach/Seaside once or twice a year for the last 10 years. We've made a tradition to stop by Norma's Seafood & Steak for dinner at least once when we are here. The service, food and atmosphere was nothing but been great to us!

Karen P.

Yelp
My seafood was over cooked, the fish was dry. The clams for the appetizer were ok and the crab salad was good
