Norrbottens museum

Engaging for both children and adults! Interesting exhibits with focus on Norrbottens history, culture and art. Elegant and inexpensive cafe, child-friendly. Free admission.

The exhibition changes from time to time. It’s a nice place to have an afternoon tea. Sometimes there are some musical performances there. We celebrated Sweden’s National Day there having an afternoon tea and listening to a musical performance by Ellen Wikberg.

You could spend some 30 minutes looking around. Would be good if you know Swedish, else it's just look around some antiques and pictures.

To city leaders, an active museum community can be seen as a gauge of the cultural or economic health of a city, and a way to increase the sophistication of its inhabitants. To museum professionals, a museum might be seen as a way to educate the public about the museum's mission, such as civil rights or environmentalism.

Small exhibition with some artifacts. There is some art and a little English information. It’s ok because it s free, hüt it’s nothing special. Especially when you’ve been at another „local“ museum of a city which lies north of Stockholm (they mostly have the same things in their exhibition). Everything I saw could have easily been displayed in a video.

Very nice museum in a quite square. Inside you can learn a bit more about cultural and historic facts and also about flora and fauna of Sweden. I recomend to have a quick visit.

The expositions in each floor are very disconnected. The first floor was about cows, the 2nd about the prehistory focused in the Norrbotten area but it was too technical to follow and 3rd one about art. Limited English material, mainly Swedish and Finnish.

Was free, what more could you want. And has old pinball machines that you can play. Would be cool if more was in English, so google translate comes in huge.
