"Tucked away in North Beach, the aptly named North Beach Oceanside Park feels like somewhat of a hidden gem — for now, at least. Thanks to the wide-open stretch of sand, travelers will have plenty of space to relax and unwind without having to battle it out for beach space." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Steps away from the boardwalk and oceanfront. This is a clean and well shaded public park space. There are plenty of picnic tables and benches to use. Bathroom facilities with outdoor shower units. There's a kids' playground also.

love this spot beautifully landscaped to preserve its natural beauty while incorporating trails for active city/ beach experience. restrooms were "clean and stocked" and facilities maintained. Then , there's- the beach!

Much better than south beach for the whole family. Quiet and less crowded when I was here last week and has several bbq grills and showers. My boys loved this beach.

Bark Beach was nice. The water is beautiful. The park itself could be cleaned up a bit. Cigarette butts everywhere and some trash.

North Shore Open Space Park was originally established in the 1950s when the city purchased and demolished a series of dilapidated villas on the site. It is one of Miami's largest parks, and it runs from 78th Street to 87th Terrace. Over the years, the 28 acre site was left to nature. In 2017 the city approved a 6 million dollar renovation of the park with Calvin, Giordarno & Associates as the project manager and West 8 heading the re-design. The renovation strived to preserve the parks plants, including large palm trees and sea grapes and the parks natural dune ecosystem which protects the park from rising sea levels. The goal was to improve the beauty and functionality of the park. Today you can enjoy enjoy beach access with lifeguards on duty and plenty of room to spread out as you soak up the sun. North Shore Open Space Park also has a outdoor showers, restroom, dog park, picnic tables and grills, sand volley ball court, three pavilions for picnics with grills which can be rented, swings and a play area, and trails with an outdoor fitness challenge course with self-powered workout stations. Parking can be found in the municipal lot across the street on 83rd street and along Harding Ave. I really enjoyed walking the trails in the the park and it is a lot quieter than nearby South Beach which you can reach via an paved 8 mile bike trail.

North Ocean Beach in Miami is a perfect escape from the bustling tourist spots of South Beach. The vibe here is peaceful and laid-back, making it ideal for anyone seeking a more tranquil beach experience. The shoreline is clean and spacious, offering plenty of room to spread out and relax without feeling crowded. The water is crystal clear and warm, perfect for a refreshing swim or just wading along the shore. The gentle waves make it family-friendly and great for those who want to unwind. Palm trees and nearby amenities add to the tropical paradise feel. Another highlight is the lack of heavy commercialization—there’s an authentic, local charm to this beach. It’s perfect for a picnic, sunbathing, or simply taking in the stunning ocean views. North Ocean Beach is definitely a must-visit for anyone in Miami looking for a serene beach day!

Yelp
Best kept secret in Miami and it's not the only place. 77th Street Beach is a beautiful beach without all the touristy crowds. It's free, open to the public and you can relax without tons of people around. Parking is not the easiest in South Beach or Miami Beach so the earlier the better on the weekend. The walk to the beach is an easy walk. Do wear sandals because the sand is so hot! I didn't do that one time and had big blisters on the bottoms of my feet. I learned the hard way. Not only is there this beautiful beach but you can also walk to the dog park, trails, lots of tropical trees, and enjoy the area. We have only been to the beach but are going to explore more. I'm sure you will love the place.

Yelp
15 years Miami and never had I been to this park up until today. And the reason why I ended up here today is I was having breakfast close by and we wanted to find the closest dog friendly beach. Well Google and website says bark beach is here however upon arrival there were signs everywhere of no animals allowed however we saw there was dogs on the beach and went for it too. very beautiful park however i feel its only purpose is people coming here to barbecue as its one after the other. paid street parking only

Yelp
Honestly this was one of the more quiet, cleanest, just overall chill local beaches in the area. There are gazebos/pavilions and benches galore, PLENTY of grills dispersed throughout. I love that the pavilions are all located in the shaded, tree-lined areas so that you have a break from the warmth of the sun. There's also plenty of walking paths, people are bike riding, walking and across the street there's a skate park.

Yelp
This was a nice little park that was right off the beach with beach access, and we were able to walk to it from our hotel which was definitely a plus. I would give it five stars, but at the time, the BBQ grills were closed and roped off due to Covid. I appreciated the numerous shade trees, as well as the shaded play area with benches. The day we went there were not a lot of people but there were a few joggers and a couple of people riding bikes. I'm glad it wasn't too crowded.

Yelp
Now this is a park! And, it gets 5 stars for offering all of the following: -Nicely paved trails from north to south throughout. -Beautiful unique trees with huge crawling trunks all throughout. Lots of green plants too. -Water bottle refill stations. -Multiple restroom buildings. -Located close to the beach, and it as the old lifeguard towers on display (the new ones are on the beach just a few steps away). -An included dog park. -It's just under a mile in length to walk the length of the park (one way). We saw fitness classes in the park and the beach while we were there. -Lastly, there's convenient cheap parking right across the street on Collins Avenue. Parking spots near the 85th street entrance being your best bet. You really can't go wrong relaxing here, or at the beach; such a hidden gem!

Yelp
We found out about this park by Googling because we were visiting the area and looking for public bbq grills. Unfortunately, we found out that at this time their bbq grills are closed to the public due to Covid 19. But on the positive, I am so glad that we took the time to visit this park because it was an amazing place. First of all, it was in walking distance of our hotel which was very convenient. Second, there were so many beautiful shade trees. Third, you have access to Miami Beach as well as the biking/walking trails that are parallel to the beach. And fourth, there is a covered play area for the children. There are also paved paths for kids and adults to ride bikes and plenty of benches, picnic tables and pavilions.

Yelp
I really love this park, I have been coming here since I moved in the Miami area. Its very lovely park and it has everything you need to unwind and relax or if you prefer to work out outdoors or just walk around with your family. If you have dogs it has various sides designed for then (dogs parks), as well as a playground area designated for kids. The park also has facilities with bathroom and a few water dispensers for charge. In the summer many people have bbqs or just cross over to the beach or the walking- jogging- running-biking area that's connected at the end of the park. This park its safe and it's has always security monitoring the area and staff keeping the park nice and clean. There are a lot of trees so feel free to hug a tree, practice yoga, stretch or do some work out even on a sunny day you can enjoy some breeze!!!

Yelp
Beautiful open space nested in Normandy Isle in between million dollar homes. From this point you can watch boats sailing the inter coastal and see midtown and Brickell in the horizon. There are nice benches to relax. I sometimes buy food from a local bodega and bring it here to eat while watching the boats. I also enjoy sunrises and sunsets at this location. I recommend for anyone in the area.

Yelp
This is a super cute park located in Miami Beach between 78th Street and 87th Street. North Beach Oceanside Park is a beautiful gem in the heart of North Beach. This nearly 28-acre park includes walkways and gorgeous trees to shade under. They also have toilets here, some picnic tables and benches and also some bbq grills. It is located right on the oceanfront. The park is bordered by a fence of dunes leading to an open expanse of tranquil beach with lifeguards on duty for safety and plenty of room to spread out and listen to the sounds of the waves as you soak up the sun. I also noticed a pavilion, and shower for when you come from the beach. Dogs are also allowed in this park and I saw lots of pooches! There is also street parking right outside the park, but not many spots though. The park is open from sunrise to 8 p.m. Super cute. I recommend!
