My husband and took a glass glowing session here for our anniversary over the summer. My husband made an ornament and I made this little vase for the yard flowers my kids pick for me. We had a wonderful time. The staff were knowledgeable and kind. They taught us as much of the process we could safely do, but stepped in when they could sense our anxiety about certain steps, while ensuring we ended up with a product we loved. I highly recommend visiting and taking a class when visiting Asheville!

You guys are great! Thank you again for the awesome glass pieces. We are excited to share our experience and beautiful pieces with friends and family. Young Rucks-Mcnorton & Glen Mcnorton

So much fun!! I had zero experience and yet my instructor, Colin, made sure I had a wonderful experience. After a short safety briefing, he guided me carefully through the whole process and watched over my every step. We actually made the piece together, I wasn't on my own, which was perfect because you need help around anything that hot. It was truly amazing to see the glass transform as, together, Colin and I made a beautiful piece. I would recommend this experience to everyone. Just know the instructors are there with you at every step and they'll ensure your safety.

The best experience in Asheville — My 17-year-old loved making a stemless wine glass and there is a fascinating class for making adorable glass creatures. What’s your first name? Max is such a patient and knowledgeable teacher!! Highly recommend!!

We had an amazing time at Asheville Glass Center for my daughter’s 13th birthday. Max, our instructor, was incredibly patient and made the experience fun and approachable. He guided her through the process of creating a glass ornament, ensuring she felt confident and engaged the whole time. The studio has a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff are passionate about their craft. My daughter left with a beautiful keepsake and a great memory. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique hands-on activity in Asheville!

Colin was my instructor and he’s wonderful! I’ve never done any glass blowing before and he was very patient and kind as he walked me through the process and helped me make an ornament at a class recently. Highly recommend their classes, it’s a really great hands-on activity and loved my piece!

I recently completed the 8-week Introduction to Glassblowing class at the North Carolina Glass Center, taught by the incredible duo, Max and Mark, and I couldn't be more impressed! Both Max and Mark are truly excellent instructors. They meticulously demonstrated and explained every single technique required to create a glassblown piece in detail before we students even touched the bench. What truly sets them apart is their immense patience and helpfulness. As someone who readily admits to having "all the art skills of a bear cub" and a severe lack of artistic vision or fine motor coordination, I was genuinely surprised by how much they helped me create. They coached me through every step with unwavering patience, even when my creativity was, shall we say, non-existent. It was also eye-opening to discover just how challenging glassblowing is, especially after seeing master artists make it look so effortless on TV and in person. Max and Mark did an amazing job breaking down each complex step, making the process manageable and creating a wonderfully supportive learning environment. The class limit of six people was perfect, allowing for plenty of one-on-one instruction and fostering a fantastic camaraderie among all the students. While I sometimes wished I had the incredible artistic talents and fine motor coordination of my fellow classmates, it was definitely a worthwhile and incredibly valuable learning experience. Highly recommend the North Carolina Glass Center, especially classes with Max and Mark, for anyone looking to try glassblowing!

FANTASTIC experience. Welcoming place. Sign-up for one of the Make-Your-Own workshops (30 min) for a real feel for what it’s like to work with glass. And bring home a great glass piece.
