North Eastern Hotel - The Northo

Called into the North Eastern Hotel for a meal for the first time in a few years. Had a 3 course meal which was excellent. I booked in a little early at 6pm which meant things were pretty chill and quiet... "the calm before the storm". I am on a diet that focuses on vegan and sugar-free wherever possible. The Northo had some good options so I ordered a staple fave - Tomato Bruschetta, to be followed by a Falafel Burger. It had been a warm day so a Pfieffers Chardonnay came out crisp and cold. A long black to close out the meal. I felt full and indulged. Thanks to Felicity for her enthusiastic 'sparkling' and attentive wait service. Thanks so much Northo crew. I'll be back for seconds!!!😋

We went here the other day for my birthday lunch and sat in the lounge area. The atmosphere was super cozy with comfortable seating, the waitress was honestly the best. She explained the daily specials beautifully and was super helpful. The food was on point with quick service.

The restaurant has a super cozy atmosphere. My best friend and I went there spontaneously during the week without a reservation and still got a table. We were warmly welcomed right away and shown to our table. The drink recommendation was excellent, and the food was very delicious. We didn’t have to wait long for our meals and really enjoyed our burgers. The waitresses were very helpful and friendly, and the service was absolutely top-notch.

We stopped in to the ‘Northo’ on our way through Benalla for a quick bite to eat. The atmosphere was welcoming as soon as we walked through the door and the publican/owner, Woodsy, was top notch and a great conversationalist. And to top it off, the food was 10/10! Thanks Woodsy for a great experience, we will definitely spread the word and whenever we are back in the area, we will be sure to visit! Do yourself a favour people - if you are in Benalla or passing by, stop into the Northo. You won’t be disappointed!

What a beautiful establishment, awesome pub with a good vibe. I had the steak and chips. Chips- Perfect...a solid 10 Steak- Cooked perfectly to my liking, charred to perfection! 8.5 Gravy- tasty as, 10 Salad- just your typical garden variety, 6 Service was really good.

Several members of the Woodend Warblers spent a few hours at the ‘Northo’ following a concert on Sunday. What a fabulous time we had. The bar staff were very patient with us and were great fun. A warning: the warblers will be back next year guys you might want to sell up in the meantime 🤩🤩 Thank you for being such good sports 😍 Oh! And the food was excellent too with ultra friendly service 🏆

We came to The Northo for a family lunch. The staff and customer service were exceptional. Every staff member was friendly, courteous and our every need was attended to. The food was high quality, reasonably priced with lots of pub favourite choices. The space was cozy and welcoming with plenty of games and facilities for kids. We would absolutely come by again! Thanks for a wonderful lunch!

Incredible hosts, had a wonderful interaction with Daryl who thoroughly entertained us. The food was exceptional and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming! With extra warmth from a fireplace! It was the top recommendation by the amazing receptionist at the Benalla Art Gallery who rang and booked us a table! Loved the experience! Must go.
