The workforce extension in Sandpoint is a joke. No communication. I, as a student, am not getting all that I can get out of my class. Super frustrating. I've called with no response. Informed them of all the faults and still no change. Disappointed for sure!

Really great outdoor hoopfest setup put on by NIC. We didn’t get to tour the campus but the areas we were able to see were pretty cool.

There's not much motivation to stay engaged. Some professors are cool, but overall, the college is boring and needs a different structure.

Excellent place to further your education. They take students of all walks of life and the professors truly care about the students. They have an amazing new Health Sciences building and are very affordable. I’m really pleased with my decision to attend here.

Love this school, I couldn't imagine other community colleges being better. It's just too bad the higher ups don't care and accreditation loss is probably going to happen because they don't care. Thanks NIC for giving me these opportunities. :)

Yelp
Security is bad. Our social security numbers got leaked. The person who leaked it took some of our identities and probably asked for a loan for their own college tuition..SECURITY IS SO BAD THERE. I bet our private information got leaked too..I have proof they had this issue. Honestly they need to not be a college anymore. NOT ANYMORE. Worst college ever.

Yelp
Treachers there don't teach. Automotive teacher is a bum and spends all his time trying to get you to quit or all around doing his best not to do his job. Don't waste your money on the fake education.

Yelp
Gotta love the Adult Education/GED Center and program! I was able to attend in person classes and quickly earn my GED. Staff was friendly and very understanding of my life situations, and worked hard to help me achieve my education. Thank you, NIC!

Yelp
You will never find a more beautiful college campus. The beach is literally directly across the street. Best 10 years of my life.

Yelp
I only came to this school for summer classes while being home for the summer from University of Idaho. Terrible Advising and help. If I had not emailed them countless of times, I would still be confused on what to do. I was only able to sign up for classes two weeks after everyone else registered and I am still not able to get into those two summer classes I need. They expect you to pay for tuition before even getting registered which does not make any sense. After fully signing up for NIC, I still have not received an academic advisor to help plan my classes or to answer my questions. I've gotten emails from a number of different people with different answers. No one is really any help, and if they are then you have to pull it out of them and expect a few weeks for a response. They do not seem to care about their students at all.

Yelp
I attended NIC this past year and was enrolled in the Carpentry and Construction Technology Program. The program has been developed in order to develop a strong foundation for a potential career in the construction field. The program gave me an opportunity to develop my abilities working with tools, working with a team, and all aspects of a residential building project. I completed high school in California but chose NIC to begin my construction development due to the opportunity to acquire hands-on interaction unlike other programs. The program's biggest learning opportunity is the curriculum that requires us to build a house. The NIC carpentry program is very special because we built an entire house from the ground up. We learned how to read blueprints, find lot lines and more by experiencing and working on the project. The instructors are amazing, Matt Pikarski, is the head guy for the carpentry/house building class and he did an amazing job of teaching both in and out of the classroom. He is very good at explaining the task at hand, giving us the opportunity to learn by doing and was prepared every day for whatever challenges developed. The house build started as a field that we turned into a classroom. Over the course of the year we built a foundation, formed walls, sheeted and finished the base. The program goes beyond the build and we get to learn a little about the business side working with the school to raffle off the house at the end of the year. The NIC Foundation does an amazing job on making sure we are always prepared with materials, tools and learning opportunities. They also make sure that they sell out of all the raffle tickets which really helps the program grow and succeed from year to year. This program is truly amazing and has taught me skills for a future in a construction field. In just one year of school I was able to find a job, apply what I learned and be proficient in my work thanks to the knowledge this class has given me. After a short time working for a floor installer this summer, I was quickly given more responsibility and earned a full-time position for the summer. My employer appreciated the fact they did not have to explain every little thing to me acknowledging the skills I came in with.I would strongly recommend this program to anyone who wants to work hard, get hands on experience in different situations and begin a career in a construction field. I do not feel as if I am stuck to a single area but can apply what I have learned to many areas of the field with success.

Yelp
North Idaho College changed my life! It was the best decision I have ever made. It wasn't easy, but if you have the tenacity and drive to realize your dreams then anything can happen. Thank you NIC! Thank you!

Yelp
I am a current college student here and it was the best decision I have ever made! It has great faculty, like Laura Godfrey (english), Ken Ostazewski (sociology/abn. psychology), Michaelf Foley (self-defense), Casey Wilhelm (computers), and David Cunnington (natural sciences). Not only is the facility pretty nice, some updates are needed, but you are on the lake, where you can rent boats and canoes, and you can do a ropes challenge course. This place saves TONS of money, instead of going straight to an expensive 4 year college, get your generals done for $2,000 then you can transfer and save your money. Also you can save money by getting involved in the many opportunities offered either through ASNIC, student government, OARS, students who show new students around, ambassadors, etc. You can get paid, get college credit or even get extra financial help! It is totally worth it to go to this college so you can get a little more focused/mature before transferring a $15,000 which has a lot of distractions!
