We had a wonderful week camping at North of Highland. Beautiful location in the woods, with easy access to the beach and other Cape Cod attractions by road. We live in North Carolina but have family that spend two weeks each summer at the Cape and so wish we were closer to be able to visit more often. Showers were probably the best I’ve experienced camping, and the restrooms were also very clean and well maintained. We loved it so much we made some keepsakes from shells we found on the beach. Makes us smile each time we look at them and remember the great times 😊

Spent many summer vacations at NOH. Been visiting since 1990. The campground has not changed much other than updated bathrooms. In a world where everything changes, NOH retains that old school camping charm. Bathrooms and showers are always clean. The showers are wonderful. They cost a quarter for 7 minutes. Water is always hot enough. Nice rec hall with pool tables, ping pong, Foosball, and a fireplace for those rainy cold days. Sites are decent. Most don't have electricity. Quiet hours are strictly enforced. If you came here to party all night, this is not the place for you! Great spot for families. Head of the Meadow Beach is just a short half mile walk. No pets allowed.

(reviewing for tent camping only) I have been coming here since I was a toddler (and my mother since she was a teen. She's in her 60s now, for context). We love this place. Warm and friendly and easy to stay. Feels like home. Facilities and amenities are perfect for a Cape campground, clean, functional, and just rustic enough. The access to Head of the Meadow beach is awesome and could save you $100/week on a beach sticker if you're willing to walk/bike and pack light. They've also done a nice job adapting to the modern world and designated their Quiet Room to a bank of charging outlets for all of your various devices. Feels a little weird at first, leaving your phone in a room alone for a few hours, but I've never known of any issues. Everyone is super respectful. Important to note that quiet hours are from 10:30pm-7:30am which is a little tricky with very young children. Our 2yo did okay with the minimal noise around our area after her bedtime at 8ish but we were glad we brought a portable white noise machine. And it was tricky to keep her quiet before 7:30 when she wakes up sometimes at 6...but easy enough to solve by taking a walk or ride to the beach for breakfast 😉

My wife and I stayed here for a week to explore properties in the area and enjoy the beaches. The management here is incredible. Upon arrival Robert, in the front office had taken the time to thoroughly explain the park rules and attractions. He worked with us to make sure we got the site that we were looking for. This gentleman was a breathe of fresh air with his kindness and big smile you could still see under his mask. The restrooms were cleaned twice a day with pressure washers and disinfectors. The walk to Head of the Meadow beach was only about 8 minutes through a gorgeous scotch bonnet pine forest. If you haven't stayed here yet... Do it!

Google
Our absolute favorite campground. We've been returning for over 20 years. Meticulous attention to the campsites both for cleanliness but also respect and safety. Great playground. Fantastic showers for 25 cents a long hot shower. Laundry on site. Quiet hours are enforced. Walking distance to national seashore and easy biking to Ptown. We love it!!! Wonderful owners and staff as well. Very helpful.

Google
Clean grounds, nice camp store, although the hours are a little tricky as they are closed for several hours in the middle of the day. They have nice showers for a quarter and a big recreation hall with pool, ping-pong and Foosball tables as well as a fireplace. The drinking water is excellent and it's perfectly located close to the beach and lively Provincetown. Our family has camping there for over 20 years and we love it!

Google
Great camp ground. We have come 3 times now. Love how close it is to the beach .only thing I’d change is making it dog friendly

Google
We've been camping here annually for close to 40 years! Love the wooded sites, and the proximity to the gorgeous Head of the Meadow beach, both town and National Park sides. We like coming in late August when the crush of summer has abated.

Yelp
Just back after a week at North of Highlands...our third trip. It was our best ever. The weather was spectacular as we closed the summer on a high note. Our site was immaculate and set up against the pines with just enough privacy. We took advantage of the walk to Head of the Meadow Beach enjoy the unspoiled beauty of the outer Cape. The true measure of a camp experience is the shared facilities. These bathrooms and showers were immaculate. They say they clean them multiple times a day and it shows. Some noted that the many rules are restrictive...we find them the opposite and they create a quiet and respectful community. Can't wait to return next year.

Dianne R.

Yelp
I am surprised by all of the glowing reviews here. They have a LOT of rules and some of them I found very annoying. Warning: the showers are locked at 9PM so if you want to wash the sand and salt out of your hair before going to sleep, forget about it. There was an outdoor shower but that was disconnected. The campground ran out of propane one night so there was no hot water even when you paid. They have detailed rules on how to charge your cell phone, for example- and the only place you can do that closes at 10 PM.I should say that the guy came at 10:00 to lock up and threw us all out. It was a quiet reading room with lights where you could sit and read. An insomniac would go nuts here. And watch where you put your lantern- they don't like those either. I felt afraid that I might get in trouble for just breathing. The sites are OK and spacious enough, but nothing extraordinary. I didn't find the bathrooms to be especially clean. The garbage cans were full/overflowing several times when I went in there. No hot water in the sinks. No place to wash your dishes-everyone has to pour the soap on the ground at their own campsite. I have camped 100's of times all over the country and don't think I have ever seen some of the rules they have here.

Johnny W.

Yelp
This was my wife and I's first time camping together and it was such a great time. We stayed for five nights and would do it all over again. The staff was friendly, and the place was wonderful all around. We would 100% come back here and totally recommend it. We like to stay along the outskirts of the rest of the sites as not to be surrounded by all sides by other people.

Yelp
We've been coming to North of Highland for many years, and this summer it was a relief to arrive at our favorite, immaculate, wooded, quiet, private campsite, dump our gear, and walk down to the sparkling seashore to swim and nap after the six hour drive from Brooklyn. As usual, once we're here we tend to drive the car as little as possible and just use bikes and feet to get around. This year, due to Covid-19, the place was quieter. But the staff are taking pains to keep everything spotless throughout the day, and measures are in place to make sure folks safely socially distance. So, under the pine trees while cooking dinner, the sand in our hair or later in our tents under the stars, it felt like the world was even a little bit normal for a little while. For that, we are so grateful to the people at North of Highland for working so hard to be open and prepared and for welcoming us wearing travellers to this magical corner of the Outer Cape. Highlights are the pine needles all over the sandy ground - it never feels dirty! - the short walk to the actual, enormous Ocean and a quiet, family friendly beach. And the friendly staff, the enforced quiet hours that let your rest at night (there's no partying here, and that's why we come year after year). And the aforementioned wind in the pines, the bright stars..... No fires unless you've brought a charcoal grill. So no real smores. But that's Ok: get a fire permit from the local fire dept and have a real, legal fire on the beach while you listen to the waves.

Yelp
I just left after a quick 2 day trip. This was my second stay with them and enjoyed my time there. The whole campground is clean and quiet, they do a wonderful job and take of their guests very well and have hot showers. This is not a party campsite, in fact quiet hours are 10:30-7:30 am. Even though you are just a short 10 minute walk to the beach(and it's free to walk in) it feels as though you are more remote because of all the trees around you. Great place!!

Michael K.

Yelp
I left my two 17 year olds and went to get groceries, when I came back, one of my neighbors was stalking around my site staring at my kids. They were terrified. Office was very rude to me and called me a bad parent and raised their voices at me repeatedly when I told them what happened and informed me he's a longtime friend of theirs. Not kid friendly, they're not allowed to make a peep without being threatened with being kicked out even in the middle of the day. I'm not used to being hollered at or spoken to like a child when I'm a paying customer. Think I'll try somewhere else next year

Dona C.

Yelp
Great place, inexpensive and cleanest campsite ever. The bathrooms are cleaned many times daily. It's quiet and beautiful. Surrounded by pine trees. Most campsites are a good size. The owners will work with you regarding what you might need. My husband is partially disabled and our site was near the bath house. The beach is walking distance and at night when the tide is coming in , you can hear it. The ocean beaches are attracting sharks these days but where the campground is there are many local beaches nearby. We've been coming here since 1991. Lovely.

A C.

Yelp
This campground is wonderful, clean, and near a lovely beach. The sites are clean, spacious, and they were very careful with mask-wearing for the virus. Everyone is respectful/quiet at night and in the morning, but it is still a fun place to take kids. The only downside is that they do not allow campfires, but we got used to the camp stove, so it worked out fine.

Yelp
Back for another blissful visit. The 3rd generation is now running the place. Very nice new website, exceptionally clean bathrooms. We'll keep ya posted...

David M.

Yelp
I've been here 5 years in a row now and we love this place. This is definitely a relaxation campground. If you want to make noise and drink all night you will be removed (much to the relief of the other campers). I certainly do my fair share of drinking here, but I keep it to the beach or quietly at my site, and I've had no problems. Clean bathrooms, reasonably sized sites, hot showers, friendly staff, beautiful grounds and close to the beach. What more could you ask for in a campground?

Heather M.

Yelp
I absolutely loved my visit here. We enjoyed the quiet, friendly vibe. The facilities were clean and accommodating. The showers had great pressure and held a comfortable temperature. We spent our mornings and afternoons soaking up fresh air at our campsite. Later in the day we hauled some of their free firewood to the beach and made use of our fire permit. I found every staff interaction friendly and helpful. Our group of four young adults who just wanted to enjoy the beach, some beer, and each other, had no issue with any of the rules. We found they made a nicer atmosphere. I really love this place.

Yelp
My wife and I went here during the summer to meet up with friends that were staying at one of the sites within minutes of us finding the site and parking the camps guard drives up in his golf cart and yells us that we are being way to loud and disturbing the other campers this was at 1:30 in the afternoon... it didn't stop there while we left the site to grab dinner we came back to a notice on our windshield telling us again we are to loud when we were not there there is a lot more but if you are looking for a place to camp and actually have a good time this is not the place

Mariel T.

Yelp
True 5 star winner. The office is friendly and truly wants to make your visit in Truro a wonderful. They have free wood for fires (down the street they say you HAVE to buy their wood if you want a fire). Although you cannot have a fire on your site at north of the highland, you can go down the street to city hall and obtain a permit. (Only 5 are given out per day, so arrive BEFORE 3:00 or you will be SOL. The office opens at 3 for fire permits and you will not get one unless you are there early, there will be a line.) The general store has all camping essentials plus a variety of food selections-- sandwiches, pizza, candy, milk, and a nice selection of camping friendly cooking groceries as well. (Frozen strawberry Charleston chews!!) I have camped here more than a few times now and each campsite has had its own charm--with great views and neighbors that are at a friendly distance. There are four "areas" and the office lets you drive by open sites and select which you would like. If you get attached, you can book ahead for next year's visit! Head of the Meadow beach is a quick walk (about 10 minutes). There is parking ($10-$20 depending on height of season) if you are lugging your entourage and their wagons, boogie boards, buckets, pails, lunches and swimmies with them. There is also a beach to the left of head of the meadow, I've forgotten the name, but it is a beautiful state beach, with paid parking available. There are a couple beginner bike trails, and a nice hiking trail the front desk was more than helpful in selecting the correct one for our mood and the high humidity levels. P-town is SO close too! A 10 minute drive. (But that is a review of its own. . . ) Couldn't be more pleased with Head of the Meadow! Thanks so much and excited or next summers visit!!!

Yelp
If you're the type of person that likes to get drunk/yell/blast music/be an underage drinker/not be an adult/sing around a campfire until 1am/pass out drunk in the woods/not enjoy the finer things in life this place really isnt for you. move on. The review I read here sort of made it sound like a Nazi camp, which i highly disagree with. If you are an adult, you can respect the quiet hours this is an awesome place. You cant make a campfire, which is understandable since the place is covered in twisted dry interesting trees and pine needles and it would like up in an instant if the wind blew the fire just right. The campsite if very friendly and family oriented, and the campsites though some close to one another not unacceptably close. 1 minute ride on a bike to the beach/5 minute walk to the beach (which is beautiful) Bathrooms clean and several are located through the campsite. shower building that was connected to the laundry (which came in use when it rained and our pillows got a bit soaked, dryers awesomely big) super clean and .25 cents get you 7 minutes which is a crazy good deal seeing that I paid 1.00 for 5 minutes in Maine. All in all not a party campground which im perfectly ok with, After a long day of walking around in the sun/biking/beaching/and hiking im not looking to come back to a campground filled with bros yelling and spilling their beer all over the place blasting the new sweet catchy song. Ended up staying an extra night because we liked it so much, the woman at the front desk was very helpful at working it out so we could stay one extra night (which isnt exactly easy to try and book ONE night when they usually look to fill their campsite with week long campers) -stayed 5 nights. loved it.

Bob G.

Yelp
Nice setting. Worthless wifi. Rude & unpleasant camp store. 90 daily bathroom closings. Showers closed before 8am. Overall pricey.

David F.

Yelp
There are pine needles everywhere around this camp ground so don't expect to be sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows if you go camping here. You can only make fires on the beach and you need a fire permit to do that which means you have to get to the fire marshal's office and wait in line for a half hour because they only give out six fire permits for the Head of the Meadow Beach. The fire marshal starts giving out the permits at 4 pm but you need to get there by 3:30 because people line up for them and they will be gone by 4. Otherwise you can get a fire permit for Coast Guard beach which is a five minute drive. The campsites are well spaced and the scenery is beautiful. The bathrooms are and showers are clean and they have a game room too. The beach is a five minute bike ride or a ten minute walk. Provincetown is only a 15 minute drive from here too! The staff is very friendly and it is family owned. There are a couple bike trails available and lots of hiking too. Let me give you one warning though! The "free firewood" that is available right outside the main office is bunk! It is freshly chopped, wet and will not burn! Buy you own.

Yelp
I read every review I could find before choosing North if Highland Campground for my family vacation and they far exceeded my expectations. From the friendly and professional phone conversations before reserving to hearing my 8 year old granddaughter say "I'm going to miss this place" it was the best! I timed the walk to the beach, 8 minutes for an older lady who like to stop and look at the birds and wildflowers. Everything was clean, people were polite, friendly and helpful. It was between glamping and camping. It was rainy the first night of our visit so a fire warmed the rec room while the girls played games. I enjoyed a book on the porch of the adults only quiet room. We will be back as soon as possible,

Michelle B.

Yelp
This is our 3rd time staying here. Great campsite, clean bathrooms, hot showers, laundry facilities, kiddies play park...... We love it here! Short walk to the beach, close to P-Town. The best relaxing campsite!

Becca W.

Yelp
Came here with my best friends I hadn't seen in over a year for a girls weekend. We had a reservation booked months in advance and showed up to check in. We had a last minute extra guest (5 instead of 4) and the first lady we spoke with at the counter was very polite and was even going to make an exception and let us all stay at one campsite. Then the manager of the campsite came in (do not have his name). He immediately required that we buy an entire extra campsite even though we all came in one car. He then proceeded to lecture us the entire time of our check in process of the "noise policy" and said we were not allowed to talk past 10:30pm or wear headlamps while walking to the restrooms. We told him we understood the quiet policy and he proceeded to lecture us and tell us that his security guard would be watching us (we are 24 year old girls and came for a quaint beach getaway to catch up). We all felt completely victimized and cut our trip short to avoid staying at the campsite another night. So disappointed that we were treated this way just trying to camp and have a good weekend. We were doing nothing to deserve this treatment and no one else that came in the office was treated the same way. I am very disappointed in their management and have never been treated this way before. We will not be coming back.

Yelp
First time camping here. It was very quiet and peaceful. Nice wooded trail down to the beach, which was wonderful. We were able to get a permit and have a fire on the beach at night. The bathrooms were clean and functional and just a very short stroll from our campsite. We only stayed one night so we didn't check out the showers. And it's also a short drive in to Provincetown. Would definitely recommend this camping area.

Karen L.

Yelp
First, a few responses to other comments. 1. You need to base your rating on the place itself, not on the regulations of the town where it's located. For example, this place has no control over town beach fire or beach sticker regulations. It's unrealistic to think a single place has any influence over stuff like that. 2. Free firewood is free. No promises are made as to the nature or quality of it. If you don't like free, find something else, but don't complain about it. 3. If you want to whoop it up with pals day or night, this place isn't for you. The rules are spelled out right from the start; don't get mad if you get called out for breaking them. I have camped here almost every season for 40 years. My parents started us here, I came as a single person with significant others, and my husband and I started bringing our daughter when she was five months old. In a time when kids are over-scheduled and sometimes not even allowed to play unsupervised in their own yards, this place is like a giant old-fashioned neighborhood. Our daughter learned to ride her bike here. She and her preteen friends learned to navigate the campground shortcuts to walk to the store to buy penny candy. As young teens, they gained independence by walking to the beach alone and meeting us by the lifeguard chairs. As older teens, they rode their bikes to the library or to PTown. Now, as 20-somethings, she and a dear friend may live on different coasts, but they try very hard to get back for a week to camp with their families and spend time together. We have found other folks who have also camped here for years; we look forward to seeing them each year and have fond memories of *their* kids growing up at the campground. Is it perfect? Nope. The bathrooms are old, still, they are kept clean. Most of the campsites have low points where water pools-- be sure to bring a camp shovel so you can trench, and be sure to fill in your trenches before you leave. Yes, some sites are closer together than others. Yes, some sites are far from the bathrooms. Yes, the rules are enforced. (If you think it's strict now, you should have been around when so-called 'old Mr. Currier' would leave pink slips on people's cars when they broke the rules.) You can find a zillion things to do, from whale watches to art galleries, to shopping, to National Seashore activities. You can lie in a hammock at the campsite and read. (One couple we met comes and does only that.) You can be with lots of tourists or you can find places to walk or sit alone. The bottom line? This is a place to make memories. To renew. To find peace. I suggest that you be very clear about what you are looking for before you decide to come here. Don't blame the place for your own unfulfilled expectations. And, if you don't like it, I hope you find someplace that you do. Even with all its quirks and imperfections, it suits me and my people just fine.

Tami M.

Yelp
I'd not recommend this camping ground to first timers or people that enjoy having a camp fire at their own site. I understand there are certain rules you have to adhere, however, expect to being watched/monitored by the campground owner and site guards 24/7. They'll come to you and tell you what you can and cannot do. No campfires are allowed at the campsite. There are no fire pit or grill provided either. You'll have to bring your own grill. No generators are allowed at the site. No pets allowed. Seriously, I'm not kidding. You'll see bunch of rules starting with NO here. The only thing I like about this campground is it's very close to the beach, however, you can't swim due to sharks. If you just want to sleep in the wood at a hotel rate and do nothing, then this is the right place.

Rachel T.

Yelp
A few friends and I stayed at North of Highland this past weekend. My assessment is as follows: Pros: - 2.5 hour drive from Boston (allow 1+ hour if driving in traffic) - Good-sized campsites (fits 2/3 big tents, 4/5 small tents) - Picnic table at every site - Decent bathrooms (cleaned daily) - Laundromat (for those long stays) - Showers ($.25 a pop) - On site store (for when you run out of marshmallows) - Playground for kids - 5 minute walk to the beach - Fires on the beach (!!!!) - On site propane filling - Rec room with ping pong tables, pool tables, and foosball - Tons of Canadians (sry peeps, but I must honor my kind!) - 10 miles south of P-Town (tons of shops/restaurants) Cons: - VERY STRICT RULES which include NO LOUD TALKING/SWEARING/MUSIC. Quiet hours are between 7:30am - 10pm. I was actually yelled at by a woman in a golf cart at 6:30pm because I was being 'too loud'. 6:30PM!!! - The possibility of being kicked out due to not adhering to rules. If this happens, you are not reimbursed AND you must pay fines. - NO fires allowed AT CAMPSITE. Every square inch of the ground is covered with dry pine needles. - Having to stand IN LINE at the Beach Police Hut (not sure what it's actually called) in order to secure a 'fire pass' to have a fire on the beach. Number of passes are limited and are dependent on weather conditions. My friend and I stood in line for ONE HOUR (each day) and managed to secure one pass for both nights that we were there. We were the fourth people to receive a pass out of SIX both times. - Strict enforcement of fire pass. If you DO NOT have a fire pass, DO NOT build a fire on the beach! As soon as we arrived at Head of the Meadow, we were approached by a man who checked our pass and checked to see if we were on the list (BOTH nights). - Fires must be out at 12AM - not exceptions! A man with a bullhorn will make it perfectly clear at 12:00AM on the dot that your fire must be put out. - Quiet-quiet everywhere! You can literally hear a pin drop at any point of the day. There's literally zero music and very little noise happening at this place. Overall: If you're looking for a nice spot to settle down with the family and go to bed at 8pm, this is the place for you. However, if camping equals music, throwing your 'inside voice' of the window, and fun of the extroversion-type... don't bother.

Jim H.

Yelp
For a family with two small kids, this place was perfect. Lots of campsites and, yes, close together, but people respect the quiet time and our kids had a blast. Yes, the bathrooms and facilities are dated, but they are clean and they work. For what it is (family campground site near the beach), this place does the trick. On that beach, it is a 10 minute walk through the woods and was absolutely beautiful. Throw in the fact that we were close to P-Town and Wellfleet, and we are definitely coming here again.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
We like this place a lot. Just finished our second annual trip to this campground. We usually camp for about a week or so with another family which eases the workload dramatically. The owners seem very nice and extremely helpful and are quick to hand out discount coupons depending on your interests and what they have on hand. This place has tons of camp sites all packed pretty close to each other all under a scrub pine forest canopy. All the sites seem to be pretty well sited and situated near any one of the four bathroom buildings. There's a large main building with the camp store, community room, showers and laundry. The camp store is small but stocked all the necessities however they have strange hours; 8 am -- noon and then 4 pm -- 8 pm. A large really beaten up community room with some run down benches, pool tables, ping pong and foosball. They have a nice playground across from the main building as well. The showers are adequate and the place is kept pretty clean, but very stripped down. The laundry facilities are located at the entrance to the women's showers which is very convenient for women to throw in a load and then shower while it's running. However, it's really inconvenient for men as they are mingling with the women waiting in line for showers and there is no sink in the laundry area and they would have to walk all the way around the building to access one. There has been a lot of condescending remarks about the quiet time here. However, as an outdoor enthusiast (that's why we camp!) you can hear the birds and the breeze, and as a parent bedtime isn't as much of a problem as the louder campgrounds. We were big fans of the quiet time and by 10:30 we had mostly had it. There are also no campfires or open flames allowed here as the scrub pines look tinder dry even after a rain shower. This also seems to cuts down on the rowdiness of the campers. Where we were in Area 4, the place is really quiet during the afternoon as well, while most campers are out exploring the cape and it's a great time to kick back and read a book or siesta on a hammock. The majority of campers we've met there are really friendly and easy going. On the whole they are pleased with this campground's quiet time policy as the noise isn't an issue and your neighbor's party won't keep you up all night. Let's face it, parties only suck when it's someone else's... On our last day we were awoken at about 6:30 am by some very noisy birds and I felt like saying "shush" to them. Never heard them really on any of the other days. The bathroom buildings are awesome! Real toilets, auto-off push-lever sinks, real paper towels and an outlet for blow drying your hair. The lights are always on and it's always kept very clean -- never experienced an overflowing broken toilet. However, you might have to plan around cleaning time at which the bathroom is closed for 1.5 hours and you need to make other arrangements. This might be staggered around the campground, but I'm not sure. Best part of this place is that it's right next to Head of the Meadow beach, which is large and beautiful!! From the front office it's about a 5-10 minute walk through a wooded path. No need to pay for beach parking when you can easily walk there! However, if you do drive in order to set up all your posh beach gear for a day of it, you can expect to pay $10. Although, after 4pm parking is free and in the summer it's still really sunny until about 7 when the sun starts to hang really low in the sky. This is an open ocean facing beach so there are strong waves (surfing) and the rip tide can be a concern. Also, this is a favorite fishing beach for the local harbor seals, and where there are harbor seals there are large sharks looking for a meal... Summer is when the great whites are seen off the coast of Cape Cod, but there are very few shark attacks on humans on record for this area. Now keep in mind this campground is a business, and they must be making a pretty penny as they haven't upgraded anything in years, however most things are in very fine working order. Camping charges are $35/site per night. This fee is for one vehicle and two adults. If you camp with any children they are an additional $3/child per night. A third adult is an additional $12/night. So a family of four can expect to spend $41/night which is some of the priciest camping we've ever done. All the stuff in the store is premium priced as well. The showers and laundry are pretty cheap though, 25 cents for a 7-minute shower and 75 cents for a load of washing. They also sell ice and fill propane tanks there. All in all, it's a clean, well-managed campground with all the amenities necessary for a successful car-camping experience. About a 10 minute drive from Provincetown which is the only place with culture, shopping and decent night life on the cape. During quiet time go out raving in P-town to get it out of your system, then pass out with the clean ocean breeze at North of Highland Campground!

Yelp
The staff are nice. The facilities are clean. 7 minutes of hot water for 25 cents. I was left waiting in the shower for the water to finish all for 25 cents. Game room with table tennis and billiards (pool) table. Also has a store for convenience. The place is very quiet and that's what I liked on the night we stayed there. :) The night before, we stayed at a place that was packed and very noisy. It is out in the woods though some sites are close to each other and allows for minimal privacy, especially where we stayed. Other sites may be more private. The terrain where you lay your tent is mostly nice and flat and free of rocks. There are rules and I haven't experienced the enforcement. For example, you cannot charge anything in the bathroom outlets besides using it for hair dryer or shavers. Your items can get confiscated and you will have to pay $5. Drinking water well is available at each bathroom. No fire. Boohoo. Cheap and allows short walk to ocean beach.

Yelp
I am a lifelong Cape Cod lover and camper and do not recommend this campground. We are not the first to be shocked, read other reviews! Pre-season campout with my Cousins (45-51 year olds) on June 8, 2012. We were treated like criminals, asked to leave for no concrete reason. The owner was rude and admitted "it's my campground I can do what I want!" We moved to another campground and saved the weekend! Detail: We were told no open fires at check in. We stated we had a small Weber Grill, could we throw a log or two on after we cook dinner. We were told as long as you rake the pine needles away from the Grill area. At 9-10pm Friday, an unknown man wearing dark clothing approached us in the dark, spoke down to us and did not state his name or where he was from. He stated "what are you burning? It's illegal to do that! Get water and put that out". My family and I went into protective mode because the man was a stranger at this point and was rude. The next morning, another man named Dale announced himself as an employee and was very professional. We talked for 15 enjoyable minutes. Thirty minutes later Dale came back and stated "Sorry guys but I have been told to ask you to leave". My cousins and I were all in a state of shock. In summary, we helped the stranger get water to put out the 3 logs that night. We cleaned the campsite. I told the owner perhaps there was a miscommunication at check in between his employee and us regarding fires. The owner said "you should have stated you were sorry" to the stranger for the fire. I stated it was dark, he was a threat, why would we say sorry? Even Dale stated to us that the "late night" stranger was the source of a few other complaints.

Yelp
The best feature of this campsite is the location. It is within walking distance of the beach. Need groceries, some nice restaurants or wish to stroll through town by some shops? P-town is just a short drive. The campground is well run and family friendly. They strictly enforce the rules and that is a good thing.

Yelp
Just went for a couple of nights, but feel like I found a treasure! Access to Head of the Meadow beach is the best perk. The staff was very friendly, facilities were very clean. Showers are coin op, but plentiful and the water gets nice and hot. There's a great game room, camp store and adult's only cottage with games and a TV if you need it. Great place to set up camp for a short or long term stay.

Yelp
This is a great place to stay if you're aiming to head to Provincetown. Located near Head Of The Meadow beach, North Of Highland offers tent and camper sites at pretty affordable rates. They have a playground, rec room (ping pong, etc), and bathrooms all over. The site that I stayed at was a little uneven and you don't have much privacy.
