Tent camped at the campground. Tent areas are spacious, shaded, and offer "pull through" for your car. Restrooms are clean, wash sinks and potable water available. Very limited cell service. Camping areas are very quite, amazing views of the stars at night. Definitely pack bug spray! Stayed the first week of October, right before the season ends - temperature was perfect. Aspens were just turning so the drive in was super pretty. Saw lots of deer, foxes, ground squirrels. I recommend booking way in advance for tent sites as this is a very popular area. Camp store has coffee, wine/beer, snacks, ice, firewood, and other camping supplies for sale. Laundry and showers are available but you must pay for them. Showers are coin operated. North rim offers stunning views of the Grand canyon and has several handicap/ stroller compatible trails that are short walks and paved. Again, cannot stress how amazing the views are - not specifically from the campground; but the surrounding area and lodge.

It is quiet and less crowded compared to the ‘Disneyland’ type crowd in the south rim. There’s only one campsite inside the park which makes it better compared to two in the south rim and one massive campsite (Mather) where it is a zoo. The market is also close to the campsite. The tent-only site has no RV which is nice.

Google
Rv spots not bad, but if your expecting to find a great view of the Grand Canyon, it's disappointing. Don't waste your time if you really want to see the best of the Geand Canyon, go to the south side!!!

What an amazing location for a campsite. Pitched our tent just a few metres from the edge of the Grand Canyon. Lots of open space among the trees and beautiful trails leading right out of the campsite. Be sure also to enjoy the meadows and forests north of the Grand Canyon!

One of the best campground I have been to. Spacious, very helpful staff, quiet. A lot of amenities nearby like laundry, shower and a market

Campground is pretty good, but while Class A’s 40 foot and under will fit in some of the spots, most of them, including our 39 footer do not fit through the dump station or the water. Very convenient if you are doing rim to rim.

Google
Very nice camp ground surprisingly quiet. Nice store, showers very helpful rangers. Nice to be so close to Grand Canyon. You can either drive to the lodge or it is a 1.2 mile walk on a trail. Fantastic sites on the rim would have liked to be in one of them.

We loved this campground. The weather didn't love us but it was a great stay. The campground wasn't crowded and it was really quiet. The camp host comes around frequently. They take great care of the camp. The bathrooms were always spotless. Unfortunately the showers and laundry were closed when we were there so I can't comment on them. There are plenty of water spigot for you. The grocery store and gift shop are perfect for the camp. You can get food there and use their microwave and enjoy your meal on the deck outside the store. We grabbed sodas from the fountain. A little pricey but nice to have available. We were tent camping with a cargo trailer towed behind.

Yelp
This spot was our first stop in the Grand Canyon adventure tour. It says campground, but this area has cabins as well as many spectacular view points that are quite easy for those who need accommodations. There is not real hike necessary to enjoy the view. It is so vast and beautiful. The air is cold, so bring a sweater. This North Rim is a bit different than the southern part. It has a more alpine like weather and temperatures vary a lot throughout day. Many stops and view points are near by if you are in a crunch for time this would be the spot to start.

Yelp
One of the nicest National Park campground experiences. Was there Labor Day weekend (2017). Unfortunately the campgrounds where completely reserved that weekend, except I was able to get the last one for a 1 night friday. However, upon arrival late evening, I noticed 2/3rds of the camp sites were empty. The ranger said that most people do not cancel for no shows, and the cost is $10 to cancel on a $18 reservation, so no incentive from the park service or reservation system to cancel. It was very frustrating to see so many sites empty on a Labor day weekend, with full reservation on the online site. There is a nice store in the campgrounds for purchasing drinks, snacks, firewood, etc. Also about 9 mins. away is the lodge. A beautiful 1920's lodge overlooking the grand canyon. They have a nice restaurant. I had reservations, which are necessary and recommended for dinner. However, next time, I will order food from the Deli next door and take it out to the veranda to watch the sunset. Less expensive, more beautiful view, and a fun way to experience the grand canyon. The campgrounds have bathrooms. A fire ring and a table. The place is clean. There is a trail that goes from the North along the Canyon rim, and then turns left to follow the campgrounds and Canyon North Rim. There are benches along the trail. SItes are a bit close together for a campground, but lots of tree cover. Rangers are nice. You must park on the asphalt or rangers will ticket your vehicle. In otherwords, do not drove off the road onto dirt etc. There are separate Tent camping area, that has nice tent "pads" to set up small to medium tents. Some have rim views. Those were also 75% empty even though they ALL showed reserved on the reservation system. Ranger don't like it but nothing they can do about it. Please write National Park service to ask them to change the system so drop in's can use those spots with no show? Road to the campground is nice 2 lane road. Beautiful views. Beautiful sunsets. Trail near lodge takes you to the point where you can get a 180 degree view of the canyon. There is a gift store, bar, deli, restaurant, and daily tours at the lodge down the road. There are ranger tours in morning and afternoons. Some lectures on the canyons, etc. There are are mule rides into the canyon available (1/2 and full day) located in the lodge entrance. Good campground for children and adults.

Yelp
Great campground, absolutely stunning views but the hostess was dismissive and kept pulling her mask down. Also the penne pasta was just plain noodles with vegetable water, not good

Yelp
Okay sit back relax and take in the air, the sights, and the peace that you find while camping here. You have to want to be here, it's a very, very long car ride in and there is one way in and one way out. The campground is very clean and quiet and the spaces are very large. There is no electric so bring your solar chargers. The campground is closed during the winter months and when we camped there were fire restrictions until the monsoons came so please check ahead. The campground is a short tram ride to the North Rim Lodge which is a must see especially the viewing deck. This is a photographers dream and don't forget the tripod. The storms over the canyon are magnificent and the full moon is stunning! We took the kids to the dinner show review and we had a great time even in the rain. The kids also received their North Rim Jr. Ranger patch and got their national parks passport stamped. We took our traditional day trip to Four Corners and Monument Valley and enjoyed the wild mustangs and herds of deer and buffalo we saw on the way back into camp.

Yelp
Stayed here a total of 3 nights. This is a beautiful spot right adjacent to the canyon. In fact there are some premium spots adjacent to the rim. We stayed in a non-premium site very close to the toilets (flush and very clean). There is a gas station just inside the campground as well as a store. They are pretty well stocked for being out in the boonies and the prices are not outrageous.

Yelp
The beauty of the area alone is what gives this the full 4 stars. The price to get in is currently $30. I don't mind paying as this tends to keep out some riff raff, and it's good for a week. There are some great 4x4 trails in the area and they take you to some extremely beautiful places. The camp ground is nice and they provide full services, shower, bathrooms with running water, and a general store. I think they only issue I really have with the area is that the campground are pretty much right on top of one another. This is not a prime spot for camping but it is a prime spot for the views. This is not a place for little children if you allow them to run around without much supervision. There's a lot of places that the little ones could fall and I'm not talking about falling and scuffing there knees and elbows kind of fall.

Yelp
This campground was AMAZING. Stayed for 3 days. Views we're spectacular, SHOWERS WERE CLEAN LIKE VERY CLEAN and there's a General Store for all your needs(and stuff you forgot). Theres also 2 restaurants, a nicer one and a lower budget one, just in case you're not in the mood to cook(WHICH SAVED US FROM STARVING A FEW TIMES READ BELOW). I also really liked how the parking for each campsite was laid out. SIZE// Campsites are pretty big. We had a group of 9. It says each campsite only fits 6 people so we reserved 2 campsites right next to each other, but the campsite was so big we didn't even use the second one other than the parking for it. If anything, the edge of someone's tent was barely on it, but I don't think so. HOWEVER// When we went, there was high fire warning so NO CAMPFIRES AT ALL were allowed for cooking, s'mores, or whatever else you need it for. It was kind of a bummer for us. ALSO BRING YOUR OWN PROPANE JUST IN CASE. They were selling propane grills at the General Store, but due to the high fire warning, I guess everyone bought all the propane so we had to figure out how to cook all the food we just bought. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay, the grand views, and being able to experience first hand why the Grand Canyon is one of the great wonders of the world.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time camping here! The staff was friendly and helpful and I can't rave enough about how clean the bathrooms were! Always stocked with soap and toilet paper, always clean, and never any spider webs or bugs! That's one thing we weren't used to having the luxury of while camping and we were all super happy with that! Although you had to walk a little bit to catch the views of the canyon, it was for our own safety that we didn't camp right on the edge. We were a close hike to beautiful sights, the lodge, and beautiful spots to catch the sunset and sunrise! I would definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Made a reservation online for sat and sun tent site on wednesday before memorial day weekend. Got very lucky and got the last one!! Maybe it was a cancellation, whatever it was, it was luck! Arrived campground which is on your right. checked in and went to site 24. There were a lot of trees and somewhat grass area. each site had a bbq pit and a picnic bench/table. the site is large enough to fit 6 tents or something like that, and only at $18 a night! The trees provide nicely shaded areas. It was my first time camping and i didnt think there were that many bugs. i definitely doused my tent with deep woods insect repellent tho! bathrooms were at walking distance and so was the general store. The bathroom was surprisingly clean and well maintained! it's a push tap that's kind of annoying and the water was cold as hell. hand dryer wasn't warm enough but everything was ok and complete with toilet paper. you can also do your laundry and shower for $2 or something by the general store. The general store has a lot of things for sale, so if you forget ANYTHING, it has your back! I got wood and fire starters, as well as prime rib and franks. Got a broiler, and was ready to bbq! They have all the toiletries you need, all the snacks, even souvenier, tho i thought the visitor centre had cheaper ones. Closes at 8pm. Stars were bright at night, there were not that many lights, so definitely needed a flashlight. Overall i was very surprised with the amenities provided. Check out was simple, you just drop off your pass in a box by the registration area. *** Tip: They sell food at the general store! mail your postcards there too! Book early in advance online. It was about mid 30s at night, so my 40 degree sleeping bag was alright with an extra layer of fleece. No RV hook ups. Favourites: Not too crowded, spacious. friendly people. quiet, good enough amenities, decent fire pit. nice cliff views for some people. Do not want: Cold water tap. I wish i had a gc view =p but you can't see it anywhere from the campgrounds. i never saw the kaibab squirrel though! Last words: really felt like i was in a forest rather than the grand canyon.

Yelp
Very pleased with our experience here. The North Rim campground is very peaceful. We stayed in site 16, which is right next to the transept trail and right on the rim with a front porch view of the Grand Canyon. The ranger staff were very helpful and friendly and the concessionaire was the same. We hope to make it back here. Plan well ahead, these spots do fill up quick. I believe they start taking reservations six months in advance.

Yelp
We got pretty lucky and were able to get a reservation online a week before our arrival. There are flushing clean toilets and running water at the campground and a picnic table and grill firepit at every campsite. There are a lot of trees for shade and each campsite is pretty large! It's hard to see the trail that divides the different campsites so I heard people walking through our site on their way to the bathroom during the night. It didn't really bother me since I probably did the same. There are showers for $2, laundry, and a store located on the campgrounds. The store carries a lot of items and has free WIFI. Also the tent only sites have a wooden platform so you don't have to sleep on rocks and those sites are on the edge of the campsite closer to the rim which means you get to see the beautiful colors of sunrise/sunset.
