The North Shore Market Place blends in well with its rural surroundings. Though it may not seem like a large area while on foot, if you look at it on Google Maps, it radiates out quite a distance along the highway. It's made up of several small buildings like a little plantation village, occupied by restaurants and local businesses and not one chain entity. Parking was easy. We had dinner at Cholo's which was very good. OVERALL: Not a shopper's paradise but serves its purpose well.

During our recent trip to Oahu, we made a stop at the North Shore Marketplace in Haleiwa, and it turned out to be a delightful experience. The marketplace offers free parking, which was a pleasant surprise and made our visit hassle-free. The area felt very safe and welcoming, with a laid-back atmosphere that perfectly complements the North Shore vibe. The marketplace boasts a diverse selection of shops, ranging from local boutiques to well-known brands, offering everything from surf gear to unique souvenirs. We particularly enjoyed exploring the variety of stores, each with its own charm and character. In addition to shopping, there are several cafes and eateries where you can grab a bite or enjoy a refreshing drink. The overall ambiance is relaxed, making it a great place to unwind and soak in the local culture. Whether you’re looking to shop, dine, or simply stroll around, the North Shore Marketplace is a fantastic destination that captures the essence of Haleiwa. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

So good we came back twice!! Our fave place is the North Shore surf shop! I hope I remembered his name right Vince was great! Well all the guys were there! Our fave place! We bought all the tshirts! We stayed to watch the sunset at sunset beach!

We were there twice over a week. And both times we were there. The stores we visited had super friendly staff. Everybody was helpful. And the snow cones that we bought there were way better than the ones you found in town at the location closer to the bridge where everybody stands in line for 45 minutes. The place became a must stop as we spent time on the North Shore.

While in.Oahu, we decided to travel to the North Shore. While driving around, we saw a few food trucks and decided to stop for a bite to eat. We went to the Khan Kham Thai food truck. They have many options to choose from, and it was hard to decide. I ended up ordering the spicy garlic shrimp, and my buddy got the fried pork belly. That shrimp, hands down, was the best shrimp I have eaten. Perfect spiciness and loads of garlic, perfect balance. I was extremely satisfied with what I ordered! It came with white rice and a slaw. The slaw tasted great, unsure of what all the dressing contained, but it was very good. Everything on the plate just went perfectly together. I have to say, since eating that, we have to go back before we leave the island. It's a must! Also, that fried pork belly was amazing as well... We left this food truck SUPER SATISFIED. Prices were very reasonable, and it was a chill atmosphere. The lady that took our order was very friendly. Oh..almost forgot try the lime or tamarind juices if you visit, those were great as well. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this truck. You'd be missing out if you don't. If you read my review, please hit the like button. Thank you.

If you have the time to visit the North Shore then definitely do so. If you’re not coming up here and spending the day or two honestly I almost feel like you’re doing it wrong. It is a very small town country style What you think of Hawaii living. As for the marketplace, it is OK as it does have a lot of little shops and so forth. Each location is obviously different so to speak on their service would be talking about each staff from each establishment, which was all good either way. I definitely recommend heading up here 100%. Enjoy a day or two to really step up that Hawaiian vacation.

We drive by this shopping center all the time and finally made a stop and discovered the Coffees Gallery. I grabbed a fresh blueberry scone and their specialty lavender latte. O M G. Both were so tasty. The scone was freshly made and not sweet but full of blueberries. The lavender latte was made just right with my choice of Macadamia milk that made it creamy; with a hint of the relaxing scent of lavender. 😍

KPA!!!

Google
Just hope the Mamoa schools will not enforce the 40% increase on the existing stores in this marketplace. We have enough ABC stores around! Please no corporate greed keep North Shore Marketplace what it is and what the locals and all people deserve!

Yelp
It's the place up north... Hungry...no problem, thirsty...got it here even some thing to cool you down after a long day at the beach North Shore Marketplace is filled with various shops to rest and shop for lots of selections for all your needs. Difficult to miss regardless as it's probably one of the larger shopping center area in Haleiwa but what makes it special honestly is there is a public restroom and is the place that I do find myself stopping by on the regular. Love that there's lots of free parking so that you're able to enjoy and browse at your leisure is always something that you don't need to worry about here which makes it a great place to do it all. Thank you!

Yelp
Nice shopping center that has cafes, eateries, local boutiques/shops. There are quite a few businesses with a little something for everyone. Clothes, coffee, jewelry, general store, real estate... and much more. I mean they have all kinds of shops. It's a bit touristy and geared more towards souvenirs. It's nice to head into the art galleries and meander through the shops, too. So much food and so many options ... food truck, fancy dine in or go to a dine in dive... takeout and head to the North Shore... whatever your pleasure they likely have it. There is plenty of free parking but it can become full and you have to wait a short bit for a spot. Just be patient, it's not long. We usually stop in either on the way out to or in from the North Shore, you should give it a try, I'm betting you'll enjoy it!

Yelp
This is such a cute little shopping center and has a lot to do in it. They have restaurants, shops, and even a couple art galleries in it! It is more so a tourist spot so it does lean more towards gift shops and such. The parking is free but can be busy around lunch time but we were lucky and got a spot pretty quick. There are chickens galore here as well so if you are looking for them you will be very happy to come here! I really enjoyed this little shopping mall and we visited most of the little shops in here! You should stop here if you want a nice little outing definitely stop here!

Yelp
Densen was super great! We bought two rash guards, three shirts, hair clip and sticker he gave us $25 off. Densen helped us with dressing rooms and tried to build a rapport with us by trying to get to know us. He even went on to show their awards and how they won them. We spent $187 but we got a lot for the price. They have tons of custom jewelry, shirts, hats, shorts, go pro gear and even a kids section.

Yelp
Hale'iwa has two major mini-malls with public restrooms, both worth a stop on your North Shore tour. The mini-malls, not the bathrooms. Restaurants include Cholo's Homestyle Mexican (saw some good nachos), Banzai Sushi, Coffee Gallery, Maya's Tapas and Wine, Breakers, and Kono's. Shopping: Aloha General Store, Polynesian Treasures, I am Paradise/Pearl Shop, North Boatriders Club surfshop, Patagonia sportswear, Twelve Tribes clothing, Haleiwa Ocean Arts, Silver Moon Emporium (for women with silver hair, in my opinion), Lulu's Leis and Florist, Tini Manini kids, SoHa Living home goods, Waimea Blue North Shore Gallery, and I loved Barnfield's Raging Isle (separate review) has great footwear options and cats! We came back two days later to hang with the cats. Grab the coupon books before you buy anything.

Yelp
We stop by here whenever we're visiting the North Shore. There are a couple of places to eat and some cute shops to go into. However, my biggest complaint is it is hard to find parking!!! We had to drive around the lot a few times before we found a spot. But once we did, we enjoyed the shops we went into.

Taylor R.

Yelp
Densen was amazing at customer service. We got like seven things and got 25$ off. Everything u need or want is here. What's cool is it's right off north shore and surf boards all on the ceiling! Clean and well organized in there. Right off strip mall and main road into town.

Justin F.

Yelp
This an amazing outside place with tons of local shops and places to check out! I highly recommend it!

Pearl B.

Yelp
Love this place and all the fun shops and food trucks , fun place to check out local goods , sights and foods. Recommend a visit when in the area.

Yelp
The food here was amazing, I made an account just to leave a review! Great customer service and very friendly, I definitely recommend to anyone living on the island :]

Karol J.

Yelp
Fun way to spend an afternoon. Wandering in-and-out of the shops and various restaurants While taking pictures of the many chickens roaming around, was a totally Hawaiian experience lol! The entire North Shore area is just a fun eclectic place to hang out. Will definitely be back.

Halei J.

Yelp
Love this place! Whenever I visit Oahu I'll always make a point to come out here...lots of shops for shopping, restaurants for getting grindz and on weekends I get my huli huli chicken fix when Rays cooks their delicious chicken by the Malama supermarket. There are also lots of food trucks as well. They have parking lots there and usually unless it's the weekend or something parking is not really a problem. Also close to the beach as well. Can't wait to be back.......

Raquia D.

Yelp
This is a great little gem on the North Shore! I wish I was staying closer by while on the island. I am sure this is a fun place to hang out throughout the day. I visited mid week, mid morning. After having breakfast at Kono's and visiting the beach, I returned here to go shopping for a bit. It was fun to meander around and look in the little shops...and they have a Patagonia! If you are looking for souvenirs, a delicious breakfast, or shaved iced--head here!

James S.

Yelp
They had some decent shops but due to covid even with everything back open you could see how it took its toll as many businesses didn't recover and were closed down. At some point it probably was a good tourist stop but now it's pretty boring and uneventful. Save your time and continue your drive up to tue north shore and take the coast back down into Waikiki I promise the views will be something you'll never forget.

Dave W.

Yelp
I was blessed to take my son to the Islands on his Spring Break. We decided to go in a road trip to the North Shore and came upon Cholos. Great atmosphere and food.

Ken S.

Yelp
NS Marketplace is a great collection of shops and restaurants (and loos). When Mom is in town this place is a must-stop-by on our island tour days. She loves looking at the clothes and trinkety doo dads as well as the art. My favorites are Patagonia and Coffee Gallery. I love how the area is haphazardly, seemingly organically, arranged/has grown to accommodate new business over time - the antithesis of a planned strip mall, much like most of the "strip" in Haleiwa. Country charm.

Laura W.

Yelp
Great place to stop if you're visiting the north shore but don't have a lot of time to wander. Aloha General Store had a lot of inexpensive souvenirs to choose from, and Polynesian Treasures has very good, locally made pieces that are more authentic but also affordable. Loved having lunch at Kono's but saw lots of other options for meals, snacks, and dessert.

Margret C.

Yelp
We came here on a driving day a few trips back. I don't remember being a whole lot of shops, but according to the directory, there are about 22 stores and services- really? I remember the following: the surf shop, the swimsuit shop (North Shore swimwear- handmade in Hawaii= high prices), the bead shop (Jungle Gems), the mexican restaurant, Cholo's, an antique/resale shop, and the surf museum (small fee). I don't remember seeing Patagonia or the General Store. I bought a small black Roxy tote bag for less than $15 at the surf shop, so I was happy. I've carried this bag on numerous Hawaii trips, so it was well worth the purchase.

Gina O.

Yelp
We have only been here 2 weeks. We loved the marketplace. Tons of shops, food trucks, and so close to the beach. We had a great time trying different foods and looking in the shops. We walked across the bridge. We walked around the harbor. There was families paddle boating and having a great time. There was also live music. We will return!

Monika R.

Yelp
Cute area to shops and eat. Ate a good Mexican restaurant also coffee shop on site but LONG lines!!!! No sidewalks so use caution when exploring outside of the Marketplace!

Lily A.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE going to the North Shore. The BF and I always make it a point to visit the North Shore when we both have a day off from work. It's kind of our "lunch date" hot spot. The lunch possibilities are endless... you can get food from a truck/wagon, dine in at a fancy restaurant, dine in at a dive, or take out and sit on the beach. We've done all of em and enjoyed each time. And then of course you can get shave ice afterwards. We love that we're "touristy" for the day; it's pretty fun! On our last trip we walked around the North Shore Marketplace which is located in Haleiwa. This marketplace has been around for over 20 years and has a variety of restaurants, clothing shops, antique shops, and galleries. There is tons of parking all around and it's full of locals and tourists alike. Here are some of the places that I can remember: Cholo's Breakers Banzai Sushi Coffee Gallery Patagonia Silver Moon Emporium North Shore Swimwear Jungle Gems Kono's I Am Paradise Wyland Galleries Aloha General Store And there are many more... A fun place to visit and "window shop" on the North Shore... have lunch and walk off your food here!

Missy D.

Yelp
Super cute little strip mall. Lots of boutique shops, coffee places and restaurants. We decided to drive around Waialua and Haleiwa and stop into all the stores and shops. This was our first stop. Definitely aimed at tourists, which was fine, as we are, but I could see locals going there. Lots of parking and easy to walk around. Super windy though, although I find the entire North Shore to be windy, but I noticed in the Marketplace it was exceptionally windy in there. We went to Breaker's for lunch, I bought a sweater from Raging Isle and we want to check out Banzai sushi. I wanted to get a coffee, but the line up was out the door at the Coffee Gallery, so I didn't go, I refuse to wait that long for a coffee. We popped into all the stores, but I will review the ones that purchases were made at individually.

Frank M.

Yelp
Great selection of stores! (Pumpkin Creamcheese muffins at Coffee Gallery are to die for). Daughters loved the bikini shop there (name escapes me)

Charles P.

Yelp
There are some nice shops in here. Quicksilver is one. But if your not into the normal touristy knick knacks then I would say not to go. Most of the shops have the same stuff. But on the flip side if you love Knick knacks then this is the place for you. Other then Konos the food in the Marketplace isn't all that great. I didn't try Bonzais Sushi so I have no opinion on that. Breakers sucks, Choloes is a joke. But there are some really cool Galleries in there. So that is a plus. I mean if your here you might as well check it out. Your not me, you may have a better time. I'm just not into that.

Rob G.

Yelp
We love to visit the North Shore Marketplace and the shops there. Some of our favorites: Patagonia: Kimi loves to shop for her active and travel clothes here Cholo's: our favorite North Shore watering hole. Tony and Francesca always make sure to keep our margarita glasses full! Coffee Gallery: you've got to try the "wakey wakey, eggs and bakey" scone here - its great!

Chloe M.

Yelp
Nice little marketplace in Haleiwa town. My bf and I always park here when we go to North Shore for lunch. We don't actually eat at the marketplace, but there's lots of dining options. Just to name a few: Cholos Breakers Coffee Gallery Banzai This is perfect for parking in Haleiwa, since it's right in the middle of all of the restaurants/food stops.

EJ F.

Yelp
Nice little stop on the way to north shore. Ok for shopping for souvenirs and there's several surf shops. Also quite a few shaved ice spots. Didn't eat here (wasn't hungry) but there is a variety of interesting restaurants like cholo's that i'd want to try if i came back.

Holly B.

Yelp
Wonderful shopping area in Haleiwa Town which includes Cholo's, Coffee Gallery, Raging Isles, Banzai Sushi, Silver Moon Emporium, Britton Gallery, Patagonia, etc. Boo hoo! Jungle Gems has CLOSED! So sad when businesses that have been a staple for the area close. They had good semi-precious and precious loose and mounted gemstones at reasonable prices.

Letie W.

Yelp
It's a nice shopping area that has a variety of stores, lots of parking, and a public restroom that is fairly clean. It houses shops like Quicksilver/Roxy and Patagonia. There are coffee shops and small cafe eateries in here too.

Pam S.

Yelp
Parking can be hard but there are some good spots in this shopping center. It's nice and shady while you walk around to the shops and there are some hidden spots to sit and relax. Coffee Gallery is good for a Sunday afternoon pick-me-up, Kono's for breakfast or lunch (they have environmentally friendly packaging), Breakers is sometimes good - sometimes not, Sushi place is good and they have entertainment on the weekend nights. The Country Store also sells shave ice and as far as I'm concerned it's every bit as good as Matsumoto's without the ridiculous line. NOTE: Cholo's is not good mexican food but they have an amazing selection of tequila.

Mr. I.

Yelp
We ended up going here more than I would like to admit, but over all it had everything I needed during my stay on North Shore.. FYI- PUBLIC RESTROOMS are available too.. and they are clean.. I know that sounds funny but I walked a couple of blocks looking for a restroom and these were working and clean.. But this place had tons of great stores.. I got some shirts, shorts, wet suit, shoes, postcards and etc.. So if your looking for local gear to use at the beach or to go surfing with on the North Shore.. This is a great place to find all those things.. More importantly, the shaved ice at the local Aloha Grocery Mart has the BEST shaved ICE i've ever had.. I highly recommend it!!

Jessica C.

Yelp
Small little town with lots of art galleries full of unique art pieces. If you can and will make it to North Shore, then make sure you stop yourself here. Be sure to stop by the galleries and talk to the super nice art curators. Each gallery has its own personality and each curator has so much advice and experiences to share with you!

Janine K.

Yelp
Its a marketplace... there are stores... art galleries... it was fun to wander through... most things are overpriced... meaning souvineers... but I suppose... I'm in Hawaii... everything costs more here except pineapples... LOL. Of course I did buy a few things while roaming around...
