North Star Hotel

We dined here on a cold Sunday evening. Warm open fire to greet you. Cold beers on tap. Wine was sensibly priced. My wife actually thought it too cheap. Both meals were fabulous. I took a doggy bag home (to the caravan park) Friendly staff. A great relaxed atmosphere. New owners I believe. I hope they do very well. We will be back.

3 meals at our table were horrible!! One meal was sent back, one eaten rather than wait for another meal, mine was half eaten. There were other complaints about brown, stodgy plates with no greens or even a splash of carrots. I have been enjoying the food here for years but won't be returning. Bring back the old menu along with that amazing chef!!

We didn’t stay but ate two nights in a row; good quality simple food, good sized portions for dinner, what makes this place special is the bar-staff; kind engaging and made both our visits great.

Great pub meal and fantastic service. Food came out really quickly. Friendly staff. Would definitely visit again.

Most meals in our group were OK but mine was delivered incorrectly, not what I ordered. The young man serving us was quite rude and insisting it was our fault and that we had ordered wrongly. When the chit was produced proving their error he stormed away saying he would get it fixed. 10mins later the correct meal came however the chips and veg were completely cold, as if they had just defrosted but had not been cooked. This was sent back and a refund issued. No meal for me that night. Shame as we have eaten there in the past and it was OK. The attitude of the young male server was unacceptable.

I understand new owners but this was close to unacceptable- meals came out all over the place, cold, 10 chips on plates and one piece of veg - vegetarian option was frozen veg on a plate covered in cheese. $6 extra for gravy!

Thank you to you all at North Star Melrose, 35 people came from all over to lay my mum to rest at the Wilmington cemetery with her parents. When the all went for lunch at the North Star Melrose. The staff were wonderful p, food was good… A huge thank you to you all . Highly recommended 🙂

We had a delightful dinner and a refreshing drink at the North Star Inn. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the cold beer was a perfect accompaniment to our meal. It was a great place for couples, friends, families, and anyone else looking for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience.
