Paul Handley Music - the Jester) I had the pleasure of playing my music show at the Hotel on the 18/12/2025. I had great fun and the Patrons were very friendly. The hotel was humming and everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves, dining, drinking and singing along. The evening was well attended and the food was great and very reasonably priced. The hotel is a family run business and the managers were very friendly and accommodating. What a fantastic hotel, i was very impressed and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay, eat or have a few drinks with family and friends.

We’ve eaten here several times over the past six months and the food is always amazing—great value for money and absolutely delicious. The pub has a fantastic indoor/outdoor area and such a fun vibe on a Saturday night. Loads of laughs and good times with my family and friends. We’ve also stayed in the accommodation, the hotel suites, and they’re great value for money—clean, cute, and with a surprisingly handy little kitchen for hotel accommodation. The publicans are absolutely lovely people and even joined us for a chat at the end of the night. We will definitely be back. Such a great experience.

Beautiful experience with this place. Went there for dinner with my friend and the service was amazing. Everyone was so friendly, organised, and driven to provide the best possible service. Highly recommend. The vibe was just beautiful overall. Food was great, came out quick!! Can’t forget a cheeky cocktail by the gorgeous bar staff.

Wonderful evening spent at the North Star Hotel. Friendly and personal service. Great range of drinks and meals. Nothing was too much trouble to accommodate our party of 8. Beautiful clean and welcoming pub. Amazing staff. Amazing meals(make sure you try the steaks).

Went there for beer and food, beer and service was great the owner was an absolute delight, had lunch and dinner the next day, both meals were great value for money and great quality. We had the special at lunch which was absolutely amazing and rib eye steak for dinner which was cooked to perfection. We were advised that it was all local produce, over all we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend you stop in and have a feed and a beer.

Had an amazing stay at the North Star Hotel! The Cottage Rooms are absolutely brilliant — clean, cosy, and stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The food was exceptional, and the recent layout changes have made the whole space feel so open, welcoming, and inviting. The atmosphere was warm and friendly from the moment we arrived. Highly recommend — can’t wait to come back!

Lovely warm welcome. Excellent food. The best chicken schnitzel I've had in a very long time. Side salad was served in a kos lettuce leaf and it was a piece of art and delicious. Sorry no pics, as I was busy eating it! 10/10. Totally recommend. Every meal that I saw looked amazing and Captain Clean plates all round! 🥇

Perfect location for a walk up Mt Remarkable. Greeted back from the walk with open arms, cold drinks and a great room. Meals and drinks serviced with a smile and chats around the bar with other patrons. Would highly recommend staying here for genuine country SA hospitality.
