I recently had a total hip replacement surgery at North York General Hospital, and I can’t say enough good things about the entire experience—from the registration to discharge. As an employee in healthcare myself, I know what quality care looks like, and this team delivered it at the highest level.
The surgery went smoothly. Dr.Dhotar , the anesthesia and PACU team were exceptional. But what truly stood out was the care on 4W Orthopaedic Unit. The nurse who took care of me, especially Lily, were outstanding—compassionate, attentive, and incredibly skilled at pain management anticipated my needs, explained everything clearly, kept me comfortable during my admission, and always made time to answer questions with patience and warmth.
The allied health team—physical therapist Elisa (with assistant Ben, occupational therapist (Aurora) are phenomenal. They were encouraging yet realistic, pushing me just the right amount to get moving early. Farida (pain specialist) provided clear and easy to follow instruction with regards to managing pain.
From the moment I arrived to the day I left, every staff member I encountered was professional, kind, and dedicated. The hospital environment felt clean, organized, and supportive. Thanks to this amazing team.
