Northern Ground Cafe, Deli & Wine Bar

Absolute best breakfast my Fiance and I have ever had, there were some flavour profiles we've never experienced before and I'm so glad we stopped in. Absolutely cleaned the plates, had to slow ourselves down to make sure we properly enjoyed the experience. Everyone was so friendly and clearly had a lot of passion for their food and beverages. Loved that they use as much fresh produce from the area as they could get their hands on. Excellent food, great coffee, incredible people. Very quick service too, which didn't compromise the quality at all. Would absolutely recommend you eat here!!

Food was incredible. The presentation beautiful and flavours balanced. So glad we stopped for lunch on our trip back to Melbourne. Team are lovely and the outdoor seating in the back was peaceful, shaded with grape vines and dog friendly (bonus, water bowl filled)

This place is exactly what Bairnsdale needs! Excellent food, attentive service and a nice atmosphere. It is on the expensive side, but worth it for the quality of the food. This is definitely Melbourne’s standard of cafe culture. We ordered coffee and toasties (the ham and cheese and the halloumi). Both were delicious. Can’t wait to go back and try something else from the menu!

Only came here for coffee based on recommendations. So disappointing to get the same crap coffee every other cafe in Bairnsdale is serving. Clearly no barista on coffee. Although staff are very sweet and polite it’s really a good coffee I’m after see pics obviously one is made by a barista and the other was the weak bad coffee served here. Please owner train your staff to make better coffee.

What a wonderful restaurant/cafe. Absolutely delicious food. We dined on mussels, a Caesar salad and a fungi salad and each of them were beautifully presented and exquisite to eat. Great service, and a lovely outdoor space to enjoy your food as well.

Lovely little cafe on our way to merimbula, decided to stop at bairnsdale for a lunch break. It’s on the main St and very easy street parking. We ordered the Caesar salad and a couple of their sourdough toasties, it was delicious, and also very filling. The staff are also very friendly and attentive, the food came quick and the price is fair for the quality, I would definitely visit again on the way back for their other delicious options on the menu, they also got a little outdoor garden in the back, what a jam!!! Highly recommend!!

Ploughmans Lunch… it’s a must! This wonderful cafe/restaurant was recommended to us. The Ploughmans Platter showcased produce from this region. Being a confirmed “coffee snob”, I was impressed that my coffee was brought to me just how I like it. Thank you to the staff. Very impressed.

Northern Ground serves an excellent coffee and chai latte. I ordered a brewed soy chai latte and it was amazing. The honey they gave me had so much flavour too! Lunch was beautiful. So glad we found this gem in Bairnsdale.

I really don't like queuing up to place your order only to find there are no tables because someone has come in and taken the table you were hoping to get. This could definitely be improved. Food is good and coffee is good otherwise.
