Northern Light Inn & Max's Restaurant

We came from the States to see Iceland and relax after a very busy spring. We were there to celebrate our birthdays and anniversary. When we arrived we were greeted warmly by the front desk attendant ( Anna) who patiently explained every detail of our stay. We had a lovely lunch, the food was outstanding, fresh and delicious. We actually had all of our meals there and were never disappointed. The room was very clean and had a nice shower. The staff was very atentative and friendly. They also have a lovely sitting area for guests, free coffee and tea, wonderful breakfast and nice workout area, sauna, steam and a quiet room for relaxation. Free parking was another plus so overall we loved it, and would highly recommend it to our friends and family. We would absolutely go back and stay there again! It's a nice little gem in the middle of nowhere. Don't plan on watching TV, not too many channels available. I forgot to mention the price was very fair! Thank you Northern Lights Inn for making our stay so pleasant.

Absolutely magical stay! Beautiful rooms with stunning views, warm and welcoming staff, and dinner and breakfast that’s simply perfect. Perfect location for exploring blue lagoon, Volcano and much more. The rooms essentials are so on point, bed was wonderful. Iceland magical ❤️

Fantastic hotel, a 5 minute drive from the Blue Lagoon. The staff were very welcoming, allowed us to check in several hours early. Dinner on site was one of our best meals in Iceland. The shuttle to and from the Blue Lagoon is very convenient if you are jet lagged or plan to consume alcohol.

We really enjoyed our stay. The inn is very clean and user friendly. Our room was quiet and very nice. The staff (front desk and restaurant) is incredible and do a great job of anticipating needs. We also really liked the complimentary breakfast and the honesty bar offerings in the lounge.

Good location to see the Blue Lagoon and a good starting point for Golden Circle attractions. Easy drive from the airport. Room was ok, bath was a bit small and no mini fridge. The hallways need a fresh coat of paint and carpet. But the lounge areas and dining room were very nice. Employees were friendly and breakfast was very good. We did not try the spa.

We chose Northern Light Inn as the most economical choice for our Blue Lagoon excursion, and it was the best value considering the other hotels nearby. Rooms were clean, bed was comfy, staff was friendly, and the food/drinks were good. We were happy with our stay and would recommend the hotel to those looking to stay near Blue Lagoon and save money. The only downside was that the geothermal plant was right by the hotel, which we realize the hotel can’t help - the plant did not make noise or detract significantly but considering the views Iceland has to offer it wasn’t the most picturesque.

Great hotel overall, very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice heart warming food. Very family friendly. Loved the lounge with honesty bar, had games and puzzles and toys like Legos for the kids. Would stay again when back in Iceland

So glad we found and booked this hotel. In the middle of a lava field, just a few hundred meters down the road from the Blue Lagoon. It has its own wellness area (included in deluxe rooms), and it's own restaurant (Max's). We had already booked at Lava Restaurant but if I did this trip again I would allow more time to enjoy both. Rooms were big. Comfortable beds, nice shower. Efficient drying rack (for swimmers). It is close enough to the airport and they offer very early continental buffet if you have an early flight. Staff were friendly. Free tea and coffee and minibar (in room)! Lovely area to sit communally with lounges, jigsaw, chess. Easy, free parking right outside. Thoroughly recommend.
