My wife and I stayed one night during a brief visit to Labrador. Expect to find tour bus(es) in the parking lot; it seems the only hotel along the south coast capable of handling groups. |The hotel is a no-frills, middle-of-the-road place, very well situated for those taking the ferry to Newfoundland. The room was clean, pleasant, comfortable. Plenty of hot water for showers in the morning. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, their tv service didn't seem to carry the Stanley Cup finals!|The restaurant was fine, but service was a bit slow, perhaps due to the crowd from a tour bus. Our dinner was good. I would also recommend the doughnut/sandwich shop across the street for lunch or snacks; I met a number of local working folks there, and the snacks are excellent! I would strongly recommend a visit to the Visitors Center very nearby; lots of good information on places to visit and on the history of the area.

Had a great night here while on a tour. Our room was really clean and comfortable. I like having the sink separate from the toilet and shower so two people can get ready at once. Breakfast at Jungle Jim’s was amazing. Robin’s donuts is across the street.

Room was very expensive. However, it was the last room available after ferry cancelation. Bed spring was exposed a wee bit and was irritating. The restaurant food menu was OK. No breakfast service is available within the hotel, but Robins Donuts is close by and open early. Within 10 km of the ferry terminal

It is close to the ferry terminal which is a plus. One doesn't have many choices so keep this in mind. The main problem in the room was one of lighting and the fact there were few outlets and the they just threw an outlet strip with only one socket available in the room. |It was clean. It was dark.

I was here on a business trip for 5 nights. I understand renovations ongoing but it shouldn’t impact the customers at that point, big trailer in front of the main door no access to the restaurant from inside, security issue with both access closed

My husband and I stayed here a few weeks back. We were in bed at around 3am when a strange man walked into our room.|This man was given a key card to enter our room. There was no option to deadbolt the door. |When we checked out the next morning my husband told the receptionist and the only response was "sorry." There was no offer for a discounted rate or free night. |I believe the very least that a hotel can offer is privacy and security, to which they provided neither. |I decided to email them later that day and voice my opinion, no response. |I would give this hotel less than 1 star if it were possible.

A nice place to stay, large rooms, comfortable with microwave, mini frig, TV with plenty of channels. Good wifi. Shower had good pressure and hot water. Sink was in a separate area from toilet and bathtub. There's a nice sandy beach close by, maybe a 10 minute walk.

Yelp
This is a basic motel, with polyester bedspreads, and thin carpet. It is clean and the room was large with a view of the harbor and icebergs. Unfortunately, our room was next to the stairs, and the walls are thin. I think the floors are made from the same material as roller skating rinks, because that is exactly the sound that suitcases made as they were rolled in and out of the hotel. If they weren't being carried up the stairs by elephants. One nice touch is the second sink and mirror outside the bathroom! The beds are comfortable, and there are adequate power outlets for charging devices. I unplugged the constantly recycling fridge, and it grew blissfully quiet. The heater is very powerful, and we finally turned it off for the night. This is an adequate stay for visiting Red Bay and parts north. Unfortunately, the handicapped accessible shower did not have a hand held spigot, or tub seat, but we did bring our own and a bucket. The people are friendly and helpful. Enjoy your stay, and stop in at Fast Freddy's in L'anse au Loup, if you go by. And yes, they have FREE wifi.
