While booking our trip to Finland we wanted to splurge a little on a nice spot to stay in Lapland because we wanted to see the Northern Lights. We heard of this spot and saw it on Instagram and by the looks of it we were sold. It's a bit on the pricier side for places to stay but it was worth every penny. Lapland is surreal. The moment we arrived in Lapland I was in awe, this place offers such beauty. I was blown away just on the drive to this hotel, I had no idea what I was truly in store for.
The Northern Lights Ranch is about a 30-minute drive from the main city which it needs to be so there is no light pollution for the guests staying to see the Northern Lights. You get to stay in amazing glass huts that offer 360 views of the outside. The huts stay very warm (they need to be in a place that drops to -13°) and have heated floors. The beds are incredibly comfortable, I slept like a baby here. You can lay in bed and stare up at the night sky, we saw a lot of shooting stars! You wake up in your cozy room and get to look out at all the beautiful trees covered in snow. Very nice showers and a little kitchenette with a coffee maker. The staff is very attentive, there is a restaurant on site, it is a bit on the pricier side but we heard great things about the food. They have hot tubs you can pay to enjoy and a very cool igloo where they hold weddings. Inside the main center, you can enjoy drinks at the bar and hang out by the fire. The staff will tell you the percentage of seeing the Northern Lights, we downloaded the app called Aurora to help us. We stayed up until 6AM in hopes to see the Northern Lights but did not get lucky. We were a bit saddened by that since that was one of our main reasons for going out to Lapland. Although we did not get to see them Lapland, Finland was our favorite destination on our European trip. I will definitely be returning to Finland in my near future!
