From the first day to the final day of stay at the resort (early Sep), my wife and I had an incredible time, enjoying the easygoing friendliness, warmth, hospitality and kindness from all staff we interacted with – from Tobi (owner), the 2 chefs both coincidentally named James (who spoiled us with different delicious gourmet meals every day), service staff Patrick, Kelly, Kaitlin and Aida, and Mike – our friendly and trusty tour guide who is very knowledgeable about the history and fauna of Yukon. ||We took the 4 nights “Yukon in Autumn” package and stayed at the Fireweed chalet, which is a well-maintained deluxe wood cabin style lodge with 2 large windows facing a beautiful sprawling view of meadow and forests, with mountains in the background. The estate also has easy walking trails with nice views of the woods.||The period of our stay is one with a medium to high chance of catching the aurora borealis and we were lucky that out of 4 nights, there were 3 nights which the elusive and magical aurora borealis could be seen. We gathered at the campfire to keep vigil, which is just metres away from every chalet, with a staff member helping us keep warm as we stayed out late at night until wee hours of the morning, with a campfire going, hot chocolate, biscuits and marshmallows. It was also fun to mingle with other guests at the campfire while waiting to catch the northern lights.||In our package, there was the Southern Lakes tour, led by Mike, which was way more more enjoyable than I expected – highlights included spotting of a young grizzly bear digging for roots near the roadside as we stopped by briefly to view, beautiful views of Emerald lake and other lakes, 'desert' at Carcross and beautiful Miles Canyon, amongst other sights.||This is truly an amazing resort that surpassed my expectations!
